Abstract

489,925. Discharge lamps. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. May 19, 1938, No. 14986. Convention date, May 21, 1937. [Class 39 (i)] The lead to the upper electrode 9 of a lamp 6 is in the form of a helix 13, so that the shadow thrown thereby is uniform along the lamp. It is supported by a spiral spring 15 at the top, and connected to the inlead 5 which has attached a band 12 acting both as a lamp support and starting electrode. The other inlead 4 also acts as a support for the lamp.
