Abstract

691,399. Travelling wave tubes. MULLARD RADIO VALVE CO., Ltd. Nov. 9, 1950, No. 27462/50. Class 39(i): In a travelling wave tube comprising a conductive helix 3 a supporting insulating helix 14, which may be of glass is so arranged that substantially every turn of the conductive helix is supported by a point contact with the insulating helix. The helix 3 is welded at one end to an extension 4 of the final anode 2 and at the other end to an extension 11 of a tube 10. For correct alignment of the helix 3 insulating spaces 7 are provided. The tube also comprises an electric gun 1 and collector electrode 12.
