Abstract
185,836. Sadler, J., and Atkinson, E. June 10, 1921. Variable-speed and reversing gearing.-The engine crank-shaft A drives a chain wheel M either direct or at a reduced speed in the reverse direction through a. crank-shaft pinion B, idle pinions C', C<2> and an internally-toothed ring G. The chain wheel is fixed to a sleeve carrying a slider K having clutch teeth H which can be engaged with either of the clutch teeth H<1>, J<1> on a sleeve F and the end of the crank-shaft respectively, the sleeve F being integral with the toothed ring G.
