Abstract

211,247. Raven, W. H. Nov. 24, 1922. Variable-speed toothed gearing.-The changespeed gear and plate clutch of a motor-cycle engine are housed in the crank case. The change speed gear consists of two trains D, F and E, G, the wheels D and E being free on a counter-shaft A; a dog clutch H couples one or other of these wheels to the shaft, on which is fixed the driving member of the plate clutch. The driven member is on a sleeve N' carrying the sprocket N. The clutch H is worked by the crank M and the plate clutch by the lever V.
