Speed-indicator transmission mechanism.-The lay shaft in a motor-vehicle change-speed gear drives the speedometer and is permanently geared to the cardan shaft. One end of the lay shaft 7 is connected directly or through internal toothed gearing 5, 6 to the sprocket 1, which is adapted to receive the end of the speedometer flexible driving-shaft. The other end of the lay shaft is connected by gearing 11, 12 to the cardan shaft 13.
