Change-speed and reversing gearing; transmission gear of invariable ratio.-In vehicles having reduction gearing between the engine and friction-disk variable gearing, the engine 2 drives a single friction disk 11 through a single longitudinal cardan shaft 3 and spur or other reduction gearing 7. The friction roller 12 is slidable on its shaft 13, which drives the road wheels in any desired manner. In a modification, the reduction gear 7 is enclosed in the crank case.
