Furnace fronts; liquid-fuel furnaces.-A furnace front permitting the use of solid or liquid fuel, or both simultaneously, comprises an extension piece G introduced between the solid-fuel door frame and the front plate of the furnace, and a casing H built around said extension, this casing having air-inlet dampers, air tubes N and oil burners P. Guide-vanes M in the casing give the air a sinuous path between the inlet dampers and openings n<1> in the tube N. Additional air may enter by louvers in the fire-door.
