Abstract
411,958. Fish - frying &c. ranges. HUSLER, W. T., 57, Pershore Street, Birming- ham. Jan. 21, 1933, No. 2011. [Class 126.] In a fish-frying range forced draught passing upwardly through the fire-bars is directed also from front to rear of the fire-box so that emission of flame &c. through the fire-door is obviated. As shown, two fire-boxes back on to a central passage containing a foroeddraught fan 7 the air from which is deflected right and left by a curved V-baffle 8 into passages 9 running from rear to front of each fire-box. At the front of the fire-box the wall 14 of the air passage slopes upwards towards the front, and the air, rising in this direction, is turned by a front dead plate 12 so as to flow upwardly and rearwardly through the fire-bars. Dampers 19 control supply to the two passages 9 and a pivoted flap 25 in the bottom of the air passage allows ash to be dumped and serves, if desired, to allow natural draught to be used with the fan shut down. The fan chamber is provided with a door at the front as is also the twin flue outlet 15. A starting gas burner is arranged under the dead plate 12.
