Liquid-fuel furnaces. -In a furnace front comprising a bi-conical casing and a bi-conical air-deflector. earrying vanes forming channels through which streams of air are directed to the flame and which is adjustably mounted on the burner tube, the bi-conical casing 1 is truncated to form an opening 1<a> substantially corresponding in diameter to the diameter of the fire-opening and a flanged cover-plate 4 is provided and adjustably mounted on the guide bars 5 so as to regulate the admission of air to the opening 1<a>. The cover-plate carries the burner tube to which it may be clamped so that the cover-plate may be adjusted independently of c,r in conjunction with the burner tube. The flange 4a serves to direct the, air into the casing. An asbestos ring 8 is arranged on the inside of the cover-plate.
