Abstract

236,265. Young, G. L. March 31, 1924. Addition to 218,488. Liquid-fuel furnaces.-In a furnace, front according to the parent Specification, the flange 4<a> on the outer edge of the cover-plate 4 and its seating 1<a> on the casing 1 are now inclined forwardly so that air may pass directly to the centre of the casing, and additional supporting means for the burner tube are provided. As shown, the burner tube 3 is formed on its outer end with a wide flange 3<b> slidably supported on the arms 5 which carry the cover-plate 4, set-screws being provided for locking the cover-plate and the burner tube in their adjusted positions on the arms 5. In a modification, the front part of the casing 1 is formed with an internal spider carrying a forwardly extending hub which slidably supports in its bore and on its outer surface respectively the burner tube 3 and the cover-plate 4.
