Gas-stoves.-A gas radiator comprises two groups of tubes connected by a short passage near the burners at their lower ends, so that the gases which have been cooled in the first set of tubes are reheated before passing into the second set. Fig. 1 shows a radiator consisting of two groups of star-section tubes h, j. The gases from the burner b pass up the inner tubes l, down the tubes h, through the passage q between a partition x and a wall o, and thence to the second group of tubes j. These tubes j contain air-heating tubes l<1>. The gases then pass round the baffler, which is U - shaped to prevent down-draughts, to the dampered chimney t. Air enters by the passage f. In a modification, the tubes l are omitted, and the gases pass first up the whole length of the tubes h to a valve chamber in the head i of the stove. The valve in this chamber may be set so as to direct the gases either at once to the chimney, or to an intermediate set of tubes which conduct the gases to the passage q.
