Abstract

1,025,283. Partitioning partition panels. GEO. W. KING, Ltd. July 10, 1963 [June 21, 1962], No. 23994/62. Headings E1B and E1V. Sound-proof partitioning comprises a doubleskinned wall formed of panels with flanged upper, 19, and lower, 22, edges, the side edges of end panels also being flanged. The panels have peripheral wooden frames 11, 12 clamping the edges of lead sheets 14, which are free to vibrate within the space between plaster board or block board sheets 17, 18 and plywood finishing sheets 15. To form one skin, panels are placed edge to edge, with spaces between, which may be sealed with, e.g. T-shaped sealing strips. Sealing strips may also be used between the skins of the partitioning, adjacent the panel junctions, between the upper panel flanges 19 and a ceiling rib, between the lower panel flanges 22 and a floor channel 23, and between a wall rib (not shown) and the side flanges of the end panels. The two skins are bolted together, and may also be bolted to the wall and ceiling locating ribs by plastic bolts.
