Abstract

1,032,283. Partitioning; glazed panels. UNIT PRODUCTS CORPORATION. Jan. 23, 1963 [Jan. 23, 1962], No. 2951/63. Headings E1R and E1V. Framed partitioning comprises composite extruded edge framing members, e.g. 60, 61 (Fig. 3), composite mullions and horizontal rails, e.g. 35, 36a, 36b (Fig. 4), enclosing hollow P, glazed, 26, or door, 32, panels. The box like mullions comprise flanged panel retaining members 35a spaced apart by channel members which are locked together by screws 48 engaging internally serrated channels. At a corner one channel member is also flanged (Fig. 14, not shown), whilst one panel retaining member 35d is plain. The framing members are so formed at their ends as to provide a flush finish over the front and rear surfaces of the facing flanges (e.g. 61, Fig. 3) and of the locating flanges (e.g. 40, Fig. 3, or 50, Fig. 4). The pane 26 is held against the flange 50 (Fig. 4) by a removable U-sectioned strip 51.
