Abstract

1,085,721. Frames for glazed apertures; glazing. HEINZ SCHURMANN G.m.b.H. Jan. 13, 1965 [Jan. 16, 1964; Nov. 27, 1964], No. 1449/ 65. Headings E1J and E1R. In a frame for a glazed aperture in for example, a wall or partition and having profiled frame members 1 as stiles, rails, transoms, glazing bars or corner-post members, each frame member 1 is provided with opposed pins 4, 5 spaced apart and have serrations on their confronting surfaces for the purpose of securing, e.g. by screws 6, spaced holder strips 7 for profiled frame coverstrips 2 and the window panes 9 and the frame members also have recesses 1 to receive butt, corner or angled connectors (Figs. 4, 5, 6) for connecting together frame members and the cover strips 2 have grooves 11 for securing profiled glazing and sealing strips 12. The frame members are provided on one side edge with a flange 13 for mounting the panes 9 and forms the lateral boundary for a putty bed and the other edge of the frame member is provided with a groove to receive pane supports 8 integral with the holder strips 7. The frame is secured to the wall of the aperture by masonry anchor 16 comprising a key 17 fitted into a keyway formed by flanges 14, 15 on the frame, the key 17 being integral with a fastening plate 19 joggled relative to the key. A joint between a central glazing bar and the outer frame and a joint between a corner bar and the outer frame are described.
