Abstract

1410970 Building constructions A CERCELET and G SIBILLE 29 Dec 1972 60075/72 Headings E1A and E1W [Also in Division F2] A building is made up of panel units or cells Q, R, each with two parallel walls A joined by at least a square or rectangular "floor" B, the cells being connected together with the walls of one cell at right angles to the walls of any adjacent cell. Each cell wall may include required elements such as door or window frames. Facing panels MF (Fig. 2) are used to close the outside ends of any cells at the boundary of the building. The walls are cast or moulded with screw sockets 21 or connecting pieces P therein to receive connecting bolts 14. Each connecting piece P comprises two tubular members 11, 12 welded together, the member 11 having a smooth through bore and the member 12 being of smaller diameter than the member 11, closed at one end, and internally threaded to receive a bolt 14. The ends of the member 11 open into recesses in the principal faces of the walls, and the threaded bore of the member 12 opens onto an edge of the wall. Sealing strips 3 are located between abutting wall surfaces.
