Abstract

944,712. Building units; structural parts for buildings. R. R. KELLER. Nov. 20, 1959 [Dec. 3, 1958], No. 39538/59. Headings E1B and E1V. In a storey high wall unit 10 formed from one or more panels 18, 20, 22, 24, 26 each comprising transparent or opaque sheets 40 of metal or reinforced plastics mounted on interfitting aluminium or plastic bars 34 or 34<SP>1</SP>, 36, the panels are fitted one above the other with their edges sealed inside vertical channel section members 12 to form the unit. The bars 34, 36 are of I-section having grooved flanges 13 which receive the webs 37 of similar bars. The horizontal edges of the panels may be clamped together and the vertical edges of the wall units are clamped together with the clamp 82, 84 of Fig. 2. In the construction of a wall the upper and lower edges of the wall units are received by clamps. In a modified wall unit upper and lower panels are held in spaced relation by bars 92 (Fig. 9, not shown) to provide a space for a window. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 860,199.
