Abstract

1,186,549. Window frames; glazing; partition walls. R, A. COOPER. 12 Dec., 1967 [17 Dec., 1966], No. 56356/67. Headings E1J; E1R and E1W. In a demountable partition wall comprising panels 1 secured as by screws to a framework 2, 4 the vertical joints and upper and lower edges of the panels are concealed by retaining strips 39 having rib formations to resiliently receive cover strips 41 of channel section, the vertical cover strips extending beyond the edges of the vertical retaining members to abut the horizontal cover strips thereof. The members 39, 41 may be made of extruded aluminium and vinyl plastic respectively. The horizontal cover strips may be provided with a flanged extension to form a bridge or a skirting 44. Door and window framing may be incorporated in the wall as necessary and have rib formations to receive cover strips, see 5 (not shown).
