Abstract

1,092,379. Partitions. C. ZWICKERT. Jan. 8, 1965 [Jan. 17,1964; June 4, 1964], No. 978/65. Heading E1W. A partition is built up from one or more panels, e.g. 26, surrounded by external framing members 25 and 32 each with six longitudinal webs thereon forming a central groove used to locate, e.g., a panel projection 26a, and lateral grooves which each locate one longitudinal edge of a strip, e.g. 35, used to cover the panel-external framing member joint, opposed strips being wedged apart by the panel. vertical posts 31, 28, and horizontal beams (not shown), form intermediate framing members, (which may also take other forms), and have end 29, and lateral, 34. screw jacks fixed thereto to push the external framing members outwardly. (The panels may also have such Sacks fixed thereto, (Fig. 2, not shown.)) Mineral wool packing 42 is employed along the vertical and upper horizontal edges and electric cables 39, 40 may be located behind the edge strips. Strips of cushioning material may be arranged on the outside of the external framing members, and in upper, internal longitudinal grooves in the edge strips. The external framing members may be used to form a door frame in the partition, with the aid of channelsectioned strips 56 and 57, (Fig. 6, not shown), fixed thereto.
