976,927. Building panels; walls and roofs. DOWSETT ENGINEERING (AUSTRALIA) PTY Ltd. June 5, 1962 [June 20, 1961], No. 21748/62. Headings E1B and E1V. In a building panel, used in the walls and roof of a house, and comprising an aluminium frame faced on both surfaces, the vertical frame members 11, 12 allow panels to be snap-fitted together and also form hollow studs between adjacent panels. Fibrous asbestos boards or cement sheeting 14 are used to face the panel on both surfaces, or one surface may be of aluminium sheet 13. Horizontal stiffeners of U-section complete the frame, and are also provided intermediate of the height of the panels which panels in a house are retained in upper and lower channel members of extruded aluminium. The panels may be filled with rock wool and are formed with vertical ribs 22 corresponding to the shape of cover strips 36 snapped over out-turned edges of the sheeting 13 at joins between panels. Brackets are used to join panels at corners by bolting or rivetting and door and window frames are attached to members similar to those 11, 12.
