Abstract

972,283. Interior panelling of curtain walls. GARDINER, SONS & CO. Ltd. Feb. 6, 1961 [Feb. 4, 1960], No. 4054/60. Heading E1V. An interior vertical fireproof panel 3, 4 is fixed to curtain walling 2 so that a bracket 10 carried by the panel projects above the floor 1 of the building, the bracket 10 then being fixed to the floor after which the bracket and floor are covered with a layer of concrete 14. The concrete may be applied between the vertical edge of the floor 1 and the panel. The panels may be of lightweight concrete, or as shown may comprise sheets 4 of fire-resisting material fixed to a wooden frame 3. The brackets have horizontal portions 9 at their lower ends for engaging within the panels and may be fixed to vertical timber battens 5 behind the sheets 4.
