Abstract

1275437 Partition wall elements; doors and sills W J NAVARRE 27 Aug 1969 [30 Aug 1968] 42570/69 Headings E1J and E1W. A dismountable partition wall comprises an elongate channel section member 12 secured to a floor and a downwardly directed channel section member 26 secured to a ceiling overlying the floor channel. Each of the channel members have a series of longitudinally spaced opposed pairs of tabs 24 struck out and projecting from the channels such that the web portion 36 of vertical H-section framing members 34 is held between the pairs of tabs 24. Panels 46 are fitted to the framing members by first sliding the top of the panel into the space 48 formed by flanges 26, 32 of the channel member 26 and allowing the panel to drop into flanges 22 on the lower channel member 12. Edge members 50 snap over the vertical edges of the panels 46 and hold them against the resilient flanges 42 of the H-section members 34. A cover 54 clips on the edges between two panels forming a service duct. A vertical channel section member (58) Fig. 3 (not shown) may clip onto the vertical H- sections 34 to form a door jamb held in place against the section 34 by an expanding screw and nut arrangement. Horizontally extending H-section members may include a similar arrangement to fix a window sill (72) Fig. 4 (not shown).
