Abstract

1,154,081. Suspended ceilings. CONDER INTERNATIONAL Ltd. 25 July, 1966 [13 Aug., 1965], No. 34830/65. Heading E1W. The panels 13 of a ceiling are carried by flanges 4 of top-hat sectioned channels 1 which have the lowermost parts of their side walls bent inwards to retain in position extruded trim strips 35. The side walls of the channels may be apertured to receive clips, which externally of the channels bear upon the upper surfaces along the sides of the panels to hold the panels on the flanges 4, and which internally of the channels, serve to support services such as electric wiring. The upper edge of a partition 39 may be received within a channel 1 and in some embodiments, Figs. 2 and 5 (not shown, an extrusion of top hat channel section may be inserted in the channel to receive the upper edge of the partition. Similar, but smaller channel section members 2 may extend between the channel members 1 to constitute therewih a square grid. The panels may have undercut rabetted edge formations Fig. 7 (not shown), or may have secret fixings Fig. 8 (not shown) on their upper surfaces, arranged so that in use the panels edges extend beneath, and thereby conceal the supporting channels.
