Abstract

1,209,086. Suspended ceilings. DAEMPA A/S (DET FYENSKE TRAELASTKOMPAGNI A/S). 21 Feb., 1968 [22 Feb., 1967], No. 8521/68. Heading E1W. In a suspended ceiling, rectangular panels have upturned longitudinal flanges which may be integral as in Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown) or separate but attached as at 11, each subtending an angle of slightly more than 90‹ with the plane of the panel, the panels being mounted with their transverse edges upon rails 1 and carrying downward projections integral with their transverse edges (Figs. 5 and 6) or at the ends of the flanges 11, such downward projections being engaged in grooves (Figs. 5 and 6) or slots 3 formed along the upper faces of the rails 1. The separate flanges 11 may be glued to the edges of the panels or may be secured within edge grooves in the panels. A hanger may engage the groove 3 or may be fixed to a web projecting upwardly from the zone between the projection-receiving grooves in the rails, (Figs. 5 and 6). Abutting adjacent flanges 11 leave visible slots between adjacent panels on the finished ceiling.
