[Also in Group XXV] A panel frame for partitioning for transparent or opaque panels comprises two sheetmetal posts 3 such as shown in Figs. 2 and 6 interconnected by sills and lintels 5, Fig. 6, with the sides 7 of the channels disposed away from each other, each side 7 of each channel being formed with a coterminus integral angled flange extension 7 having an inwardly-directed portion 7a parallel to the web and further portion 7b directed away from the web parallel to the sides. The web is provided with a formation 17 against either or both sides of which the panel(s) 19, Fig. 2, can be supported by glazing strips 15 releasably secured to the post by spring clips 11. The lintel 5 has the same cross-section as the posts with the formation 17 directed downwards and a trough-like sheetmetal cap 27, Fig. 4, rests on the lintel (not shown) with its web in contact with the web of the lintel and has flanges 31 overlying the flanges 7 of the lintel, these flanges 31 supporting infill panels 35 between the lintel and ceiling, the panels being held by two opposed infill coverplates 39 (only one of which is shown) provided with brackets 45 forming end-stops for the panels and drawn together to sandwich the panels by tension springs 41. Fig. 6 shows how a partition may abut against a wall by a telescopic device 51, one member thereof being secured to the wall and the other to a post 3a, the gap between the posts 3 and 3a being closed by a channel section cover-plate 9 releasably held in position by spring clips 25 secured to the plate 9 and engaging the portions 7b of the posts 3, 3a. A corner post constructed from posts such as 3 is illustrated in Fig. 1 (not shown). The panel frames are seated in a two-part floor channel (Fig. 11, not shown).
