Abstract

1,049,725. Sliding doors. ACME APPLIANCE MANUFACTURING CO. Aug. 7, 1964 [April 6, 1964], No. 32344/64. Heading E1J. Sliding door panels 32 have framing members 40, 42, 46 with laterally staggered inwardly and outwardly facing channels, the inwardly facing channels receiving the panels, and the outwardly facing channels receiving flanges 88 and 90 or 188 and 190 of corner connectors 48 or 50, said flanges each having a hole 92 or 192 or a notch 94 or 194 respectively therein, into which portions of the walls of the outwardly facing channels are struck. Each panel has two upper connectors 48, each carrying a vertically adjustable support 102 with a roller 28, and two lower connectors 50, each carrying a vertically movable guide element 30 having two downwardly extending projections, 216 and 218, co-operating with an undercut channel-section guide rail 26, the projection 216 being thicker than the projection 218, and forming a sliding fit in the rail 26, and the projection 218 having a lateral flange 220 engaging the neck of the rail.
