Abstract
1,227,314. Securing partition panels; glazing. I. J. HAYCOCK. 29 March, 1968 [31 March, 1967], No. 14947/67. Headings E1R and E1W. Partitionary panels 12 are located between wooden uprights 10 solely by pairs of elongated retaining elements 15 which are a tight interference fit in two parallel grooves 13 along the lengths of the uprights. The elements 15 may be used to retain double glazing and to connect an upright to another partitionary component such as a door post 40, or to an upright of a section of partitioning extending at right angles to the section of partitioning containing the first said upright Fig. 6 (not shown). Modified elements 33 Fig. 2 replace the elements 15 to secure single glazing. The horizontal framing members 11 of the partition may carry a slotted plate 8 at each end by means of which the member 11 is secured to an upright, the slot 7 receiving headed ends of screws 6 projecting from the upright. The upper horizontal member of a partition may incorporate screw operated jacking means, Fig. 7 (not shown) which functions to wedge the partition between the floor and ceiling.
