863,440. Glazing window sashes; panels. BLAKDALE PRODUCTS Ltd. Oct. 13, 1959 (Oct. 17, 1958], No. 33297/58. Classes 20(3) and 20(4) A window sash in a window frame which may be constituted' by an aperture in a partition, has at least two of its sash rails 13 receiving the pane 17 independently displaceable with respect to the side frame members 2, Fig. 5 or top rail 3, Fig. 3, to engage or disengage the pane from the rails. Each rail 13 is of W-section with the central web portion of channel-section receiving an edge of the pane 17 and with rebent flange portions 14 engaging over mating flanges 6 of the window frame, the top rail 13, Fig. 3, being slidable into the frame by the leaf spring 9 secured to a cross piece 7 in the frame and slidable out of the frame against the spring as shown in Fig. 3, the bottom rail being fixed by a cross-piece 8 and each side rail 13, Fig. 5, being adjustable in and out of the frame by a screw 12 engaging in a bush 11 fitted to each window post 2. The pane receiving channel contains a rubber seating 16. The bottom rail may be integral with the panel or frame. Vertical sheet metal cover plates may be sprung into gaps between adjacent panels thereby providing with the posts 2 three isolated conduits for electric wiring.
