Abstract

1353161 Partitions C CALLEGARI 23 April 1971 [27 April 1970 12 Feb 1971 25 March 1971 31 March 1971] 11045/71 Heading E1W In a partition, a panel 1 having a plain, unprepared upper edge, is located at its upper edge in a channel-sectioned ceiling runner, with first resilient means e.g. a spring 25 compressed between the panel edge and the web of the channel, and second resilient means, e.g. an elastomeric strip 29, compressed between the channel and the ceiling. The strip 29 is preferably adhesive on both major surfaces, and a similar strip 18 is employed at the foot of the partition. Resilient skirting and ceiling members 22, 32 and 33 are engaged in the floor channel 10 and the ceiling channel. The panel may have a glass pane 126 set into its upper edge, when a pair of auxiliary members 128, 129 will be required to locate the upper edge of the pane (Fig. 11). In this embodiment, a pair of compressible resilient strips 136, 137 are provided in the ceiling channel 127. Several different springs for the first resilient means are described, (Figs. 4-9, not shown).
