Abstract
1,008,036. Partitions; building panels. E. F. HAUSERMAN CO. Sept. 22, 1961 [May 25, 1961], No. 34092/61. Headings E1B and E1V. A partition comprises panels of plywood, glass 62, or with steel facings 83, 84, 92, joined by welding, screwing, or snap-fitting to vertical members 81, 82 (Figs. 7, 8) which are interconnected by a key piece 52 fitting into tapered slots in the base of their channels. The panels having facings 83, 84 may contain heat and sound insulating material and have internal ribbing or partitions. They are provided with channels in their upper edges in which is fitted a ceiling fixture 133, and a lower projecting part 155 fits into a floor fixture 169. In a modification (Fig. 13 not shown) the part 155 moves and may be slid down into the projecting position. A panel comprising plaster or a honeycomb material contained within steel or plywood plates is also described. The glass panels 62 are held vertically by glazing strips 63, 64 and at the top and bottom edges by similar strips and shaped wood inserts. A trim strip may be clipped between a member 81 and a panel to space these slightly apart. Specification 1,008,037 is referred to.
