Abstract
825,141. Walls etc.; wall panels; posts. FRIBERG, K. A. Aug. 10, 1956 [Aug. 19, 1955], No. 24618/56. Classes 20(1), 20(4), and 87(1) In a building having walls of prefabricated wall plates, each of the latter comprising a frame and two sheets 1 covering the frame on respective sides, and two opposite vertical edges 2, 2<SP>1</SP> of each wall plate being provided with undercut grooves for interconnecting the wall plates, the grooves are on one flat side of the plates formed directly by the sheet of that side and on the opposite flat side cut in the frame portion, the latter being hookshaped in cross-section and forming a coupling member for sliding engagement with the undercut edge of an adjacent wall plate. As shown in Figs. 6 and 7 each wall plate I consists of a wooden frame having two parallel edges 2, 2<SP>1</SP> substantially U-shaped in cross-section and two beams 33<SP>1</SP> respectively formed with groove and tongue members 4, 4<SP>1</SP>, the sides of the frame being covered with wood fibre boards 1; the space enclosed by the boards is filled with heat-insulating material. Wall plates adjacent the roof of the building have the uppermost beam 3<SP>1</SP> thereof obliquely orientated with respect to the lower beam. The boards 1 project beyond the space defined by a groove as indicated at 1<SP>1</SP>, but the edges of the boards register with the outer edges of the beams 3. 3<SP>1</SP>. The grooves may be cut on a milling machine, or formed by glueing anglesection members 9 to members of rectangular cross-section. Interiorly of the building, spaces 10 between the boards I of wall plates disposed at right-anglesto one another are covered by a fillet 11, and at the posts 5, 6 such spaces are covered by strips 12, 13. Window frames 16, Fig. 3, have channels 18, 18<SP>1</SP> for the reception of the plane transverse beams 17, 17<SP>1</SP> of wall plates adjacent thereto, and beams 23, Fig. 11, carried on the tongued beam of a wall plate support the flooring 24 of an upper storey, there being an intermediate beam 25 for connection with an upper wall plate. The ground 'beams 19, Fig. 4, of the building have a longitudinal tongue 21 received in the groove 4 of a lower beam 3 of a wall plate. In a building comprising at least four compartments, the intermediate posts are provided with grooves on all faces thereof and are made of two profiled sections of equal configuration secured together, and to enhance stability of the building, the intermediate posts may be formed of a post of square cross-section having coupling members attached thereto
