Abstract

Una composición de revestimiento curable preparada por un método que comprende: a) hacer reaccionar un aceite vegetal epoxidado con un material con funcionalidad hidroxilo en presencia de un catalizador ácido y un disolvente para formar un poliol de aceite con funcionalidad hidroxilo; b) mezclar el poliol de aceite con funcionalidad hidroxilo con un copolímero de poliolefina funcional para formar una mezcla; c) hacer reaccionar la mezcla con un componente de monómero etilénicamente insaturado en presencia de un iniciador para formar un copolímero de injerto; y d) mezclar el copolímero de injerto con un reticulante para formar la composición de revestimiento curable.

Enamel Rater.
Se usó la resistencia a cloruro de cobre para medir la capacidad del sustrato revestido después de la retorta de agua para retener su integridad según experimenta un proceso de formación para producir un extremo para latas de bebida. En este ensayo, los extremos de lata fabricados se expusieron a una disolución de cloruro de cobre. El 5 cobre se depositará en cualquier grieta o fractura que pueda existir en el extremo. Se preparó una disolución de ensayo de sulfato de cobre con 2070 gramos de agua, 600 gramos de sulfato de cobre, 300 gramos de ácido clorhídrico y 30 gramos de Dowfax 2A1. El sulfato de cobre se disolvió en el agua destilada en un vaso de precipitados de 4000 ml, después se añadieron el ácido clorhídrico y Dowfax 2A1. El procedimiento de ensayo fue el siguiente: (1) llenar la bandeja hasta una profundidad de 12,7 mm (1/2 pulgadas) con la disolución de sulfato de
10 cobre; (2) hacer flotar los extremos con el lado interior hacia abajo sobre la disolución; (3) ajustar el temporizador durante 30 minutos; y (4) una vez transcurridos 30 minutos, retirar los extremos y sumergir en un recipiente de agua corriente. Se midió la corrosión visualmente usando una escala de 0-5. Una corrosión de 0 significa que no había manchas de cloruro de cobre en el extremo. Una corrosión de 5 significa que la película se había manchado completamente con cloruro de cobre.
15 Se usó un ensayo con ácido cítrico al 2% para simular una bebida ácida. Los extremos de la lata se sumergieron en la disolución de ácido cítrico al 2% durante 60 minutos a 121ºC (250ºF). Los resultados de ensayo se resumen en la Tabla 4. La corrosión en retorta y la adhesión se midieron de la misma manera que en los ejemplos anteriores.
