Definitions
- the invention relates to a tunable clarinet bulb for arrangement between a mouthpiece and a top of a clarinet, the clarinet bulb divided into an upper part and a lower part and for connecting these two parts a collar is provided by means of which the axial distance between the upper part and lower part is variable.
- the clarinet belongs to the family of woodwind instruments. It usually consists of five parts that can be put together: the mouthpiece, the clarinet pear, the top piece, the bottom piece and the funnel. The mating of these five parts usually takes place by means of cork-covered pins and corresponding receptacles for these pins, which have the individual parts at the respective connection points. If all five parts of the clarinet are inserted into each other so that no gaps remain between the individual parts, the passage opening extends inside the clarinet continuously and with a substantially constant inner diameter of the mouthpiece on the clarinet bulb, the upper and the lower piece to the Funnel.
- the clarinet bulb described here consists of an upper and a lower part, wherein for connecting the upper and the lower part arranged between these two parts adjusting ring is provided.
- the upper part is screwed into the adjusting ring, while the lower part is rotatably mounted on the adjusting ring.
- a disadvantage of this system is that the upper and lower parts of the clarinet bulb can basically rotate against each other by turning the adjusting ring.
- the rotatable mounting of the lower part relative to the adjusting ring to avoid moving the lower part upon actuation of the adjusting ring.
- the lower part may oppose as far as possible no resistance to the adjusting ring during a rotation thereof.
- this means that the lower part of the Klarinettenbime is extremely easy to rotate in the normal game operation relative to the collar and the top of the clarinet bulb, which is highly undesirable.
- Object of the present invention is therefore to propose a tunable clarinet bulb, which eliminates the disadvantages mentioned and which can be tuned in a simple manner, without the upper and lower parts of the clarinet bulb rotate against each other.
- the tunable clarinet bulb according to the invention comprises a passage opening extending in the direction of the longitudinal axis thereof and is subdivided into an upper part and a lower part, which can be joined together along the longitudinal axis, and an adjusting ring connecting the upper part and the lower part, by means of which the axial distance between upper part and lower part can be changed is.
- the invention provides that the adjusting ring is connected to the upper part and the lower part in each case via a screw thread and the screw thread having an opposite direction of rotation.
- the axial distance between the upper part and lower part is variable by turning the adjusting ring, however without the upper and lower parts to invert their original orientation to each other.
- the player is thereby able to move his instrument while playing, i. without settling the instrument to vote, because the collar can be easily operated with one hand and readjustment of the orientation of the upper part to lower part is not required because they do not rotate against each other. Rather, the upper and lower parts linearly move apart or together in the direction of the longitudinal axis.
- an anti-rotation device is provided between the upper part and the lower part, by means of which the maintenance of the alignment between upper part and lower part is ensured.
- at least one extending between the upper part and lower part guide pin is provided as rotation, which determines the alignment of the upper and lower parts to each other.
- connection sleeve for insertion into the lower part.
- the inner diameter of this connection sleeve is substantially equal to the inner diameter of the passage opening of the Klarinettenbirhe, so that even when the driven apart Klarinettenbirne a through hole is maintained with a substantially constant inner diameter.
- the connecting sleeve may be formed separately or integrally with the part.
- the lower part is preferably made of wood.
- the thus made of wood lower part of the clarinet bulb according to the invention and the upper part of the clarinet can be integrally formed. As a result, a spigot connection between the lower part and the upper part of the clarinet is saved.
- the upper part and / or the lower part including the optionally provided connection sleeve made of rubber or of a plastic material.
- the plastic is, for example, polyoxymethylene (POM), but other plastics can also be provided.
- the upper part and / or the lower part are equipped with a part of the screw thread forming threaded ring.
- This may be, for example, a metal or a plastic ring, whereby the production is simplified.
- This threaded ring can be attached to the upper and lower part by e.g. Screwing and / or gluing be attached.
- the screw thread on the upper part and lower part preferably each have a pitch between 0.8 mm and 1.2 mm, particularly preferably in each case a pitch of 1 mm. This ensures that the tuning of the instrument can be very precise.
- Markings for scaling are preferably applied to the adjusting ring, which make it possible to make adjustments reproducible. This is particularly advantageous if it is already known that in interaction with other instruments, the own instrument always sounds too high or too low by one or more oscillations (Hertz).
- the transition from a mark to an adjacent mark on the adjusting ring corresponds to an axial distance change of 0.2 mm to 0.8 mm, preferably 0.5 mm, between the upper part and the lower part.
- the transition from a mark to an adjacent mark on the adjusting ring preferably corresponds to a pitch change of 0.5 Hz to 1.5 Hz, more preferably 1 Hz.
- the invention is applicable to all members of the clarinet family, ie, Es, D, C, A, B clarinets, bassett clarinets.
- the S - bows can preferably be made of wood and / or partially or completely made of plastic (eg POM).
- POM plastic
- the invention also relates to other woodwind instruments in terms of structure, design and materials, in particular the threaded unit and the use of plastics (in particular POM).
- Meant are all flutes, also Piccolo; all oboes, also English hom and Heckelphone; and bassoons, also contrabassoon.
- the clarinet bulb according to the invention preferably has a minimum length of between 53 mm and 65 mm, particularly preferably between 54 mm and 58 mm.
- the inside diameter of the passage opening of the tunable clarinet bulb according to the invention is preferably 14.5 mm to 15.5 mm, particularly preferably 14.9 mm to 15.1 mm, in each case based on A / B clarinets.
- FIGS. 1 and 2 is a total designated by 1 inventive tunable clarinet bulb shown. It consists of an upper part 2 with an insertion opening 20 for a mouthpiece of a clarinet, not shown here, and a lower part 3 with an insertion opening 30 for a likewise not shown upper part of a clarinet.
- the insertion openings (20, 30) are connected by a passage opening (100) and the upper part 2 and the lower part 3 can be joined together along a longitudinal axis L of the clarinet bulb 1.
- a provided with two internal threads 5a, 5b collar 4 is provided by means of which the axial distance between the upper part 2 and lower part 3 is variable.
- the internal threads 5a, 5b extend, in each case along the longitudinal axis L into the adjusting ring.
- Both the upper part 2 and the lower part 3 have at their end facing away from the respective insertion 20.30 a threaded ring 60.70 made of metal, which carries an external thread 6.7.
- the threaded ring 60,70 can be glued or screwed, for example, on a stepped seat on the upper and lower part 2.3.
- external thread 6 is a right-hand thread
- external thread 7 is a left-hand thread.
- the associated internal threads 5a, 5b of the adjusting ring 4 are procured by a complementary to the right external thread 6 thread 5b in the upper part and in the lower part to the left external thread 7 complementary thread 5a has.
- the upper part 2 can be screwed by means of the right external thread 6 from above into the adjusting ring 4, while the lower part 3 can be screwed by means of the left-external thread 7 from below into the adjusting ring 4.
- the arrangement of the external threads i. whose sense of rotation can also be exchanged.
- it can be determined in advance whether a right or left turn of the adjusting ring 4 is required to extend the clarinet bulb.
- a great advantage of this mechanism is that the adjusting ring 4 can be easily operated without settling the clarinet with one hand. This allows the intonation of the instrument to be adjusted at any time without the need to stop the instrument. Due to the simple handling of the mechanism, it is particularly well suited for amateur use.
- the threaded and adjusting ring unit consisting of the adjusting ring 4 and the threaded rings 60 and 70, preferably designed and arranged on the clarinet bulb 1, that it surrounds only the through holes 100 of the upper part 2 and lower part 3.
- the insertion openings 20, 30 are therefore not included in this embodiment of the threaded and adjusting ring unit 4, 60, 70.
- the threaded and adjusting ring unit 4, 60, 70 between the insertion 20. 20 Essentially (not exactly) arranged centrally.
- FIG. 4 is a view from the front of the adjusting ring 4 shown.
- the adjusting ring 4 has circumferentially markings in preferably Roman numerals, wherein a transition from a marker to an adjacent marker corresponds to a predetermined change in pitch of the instrument, for example 1 Hz.
- the markers make it possible to reproduce settings between the upper part and lower part of the clarinet bulb. Further possible markings may be, for example, a millimeter scale or Hertz data.
- the upper part 2 in the region of the through hole 100 integrally formed with the upper part 2 thin-walled connection sleeve 9 whose outer diameter is only so far smaller than the inner diameter of the through hole 100 that the Connection sleeve 9 can be inserted accurately into the through hole 100 in the lower part 3.
- the lower part 3 is constructed in accordance with the clarinet itself made of grenadilla wood, while the upper part 2 including the connecting sleeve 9 is made of a suitable plastic, such as POM.
- a suitable polyoxymethylene is Delrin called DuPont.
- the internal thread 5 of the adjusting ring 4 and the external threads 6, 7 on the upper part 2 and on the lower part each have a pitch of e.g. 1 mm up. This corresponds to a full rotation of the adjusting ring 4 a change in length of the clarinet bulb 1 of e.g. 0.5 mm or a pitch of 1 Hz.
- FIG. 3 an embodiment of the clarinet bulb according to the invention is shown, in which the lower part 3 is formed integrally with the upper part of the clarinet. It is omitted in this case, the in the FIGS. 1 and 2 not shown, but required spigot connection between the lower part 3 and the upper part of the clarinet.
- the structure of the clarinet bulb is identical to that with reference to FIGS Figures 1 and 2 described structure.
- the clarinet bulb according to the invention is not limited in its execution to the above-mentioned preferred embodiments. Rather, a variety of design variations are possible, which make use of the solution shown even with fundamentally different type of execution.
