Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a ball racket, in particular tennis racket, according to the first part of claim 1.
  • Such a ball racket is known from DE-A-2 030 998.
  • a short shaft section is provided on the frame, which can be designed as a handle. This initially forms a ball racket with an extremely short handle.
  • a threaded blind hole is provided on the front of the shaft section and the ball racket is assigned a number of rod sections, which may be of different lengths, each having a threaded blind hole on one front and a threaded pin on the other front.
  • the length of the stem or shaft can be adjusted by screwing on one or more, possibly of different lengths, stem sections.
  • handle sections can be provided as the end piece, which also have different lengths and / or thicknesses from one another.
  • stem sections must be round, since otherwise an exact screw connection is not possible. In addition, they either have to be made entirely of high-strength material, such as metal, which makes them very heavy, or they consist, for example, of plastic, in which case high-strength metal thread inserts or bushings have to be molded in in order to achieve sufficient strength. Finally, the stem sections must be secured against twisting.
  • stem sections instead of the stem sections made of solid material, stem sections can consist of telescopically collapsible and extendable tube sections or sleeves. A large number of holding pins can be provided for fine gradation of the handle length.
  • the present invention is intended to achieve the object of designing a ball racket, in particular tennis racket, of the type mentioned in such a way that the length of the racket handle is simple and simple, that is to say without great expenditure on accessories, in terms of skill, style of play and / or the strength of the player, preferably also continuously, can be adjusted.
  • the present invention is characterized in that only a single screw connection is required in order to firmly clamp the individual shims and the grip head with the shaft.
  • a coarse or fine adjustment can be made at any time, depending on the choice of the shims.
  • a fine adjustment is particularly easy to carry out if at least one elastic, volume-compressible and therefore variable in thickness is used.
  • the use of compressible adjusting disks and an adjusting screw also enables the length of the club handle to be adjusted continuously.
  • 1 denotes the end of a non-circular cross-section, for example a 4-sided or 8-sided handle shaft 2, which is preferably composed of two half-shells and which is followed by a ball racket field (not shown) of a ball racket, in particular a tennis racket.
  • a 4-sided or 8-sided handle shaft 2 which is preferably composed of two half-shells and which is followed by a ball racket field (not shown) of a ball racket, in particular a tennis racket.
  • pins 4 in particular made of metal or tough elastic plastic, are attached to the front 3 of the shaft end 1 in the axial direction of the handle shaft 2. These pins 4 protrude approximately 2 cm to 5 cm from the front 3 of the shaft end 1.
  • a central bore 5 shim 6 either made of compact, non-compressible material, such as plastic, wood, metal or the like, or from compressible, in particular volume-compressible material, such as foamed plastic, natural, synthetic rubber or the like threaded on.
  • the outer contour of the shim 6 is adapted to that of the handle shaft 2.
  • a plurality of shims 61, 62, 63 can also be provided, preferably also with different sheave thicknesses.
  • the adjusting disc 6 or adjusting discs 61, 62, 63 are covered by a grip head 7 which is firmly connected to the grip shaft 2 by means of a screw 9.
  • a grip head 7 which is firmly connected to the grip shaft 2 by means of a screw 9.
  • the handle band 2 which usually surrounds the handle shaft 2 is designated by 14.
  • the extension of the handle shaft can make the ball racket "heavier for the player or” lighter “by shortening the shaft.
  • the racket length can already be set to a sufficiently fine level for many applications.
  • the screw 9 is designed as an adjusting screw which is guided through an opening 8 in the grip head 7.
  • the screw shaft 10 is screwed into a threaded blind hole 11 at the end of the handle shaft 2, the screw head 12 pressing from the outside against the end wall 13 of the handle head 7 and thereby compressing the adjusting washers 6 and 61, 62, 63 more or less depending on the screwing depth .
  • the compressible, preferably volume-compressible adjusting disks 6 or 61, 62, 63 are more or less compressed, as a result of which the total length of the handle shaft 2 or of the ball racket can be adjusted continuously.
  • the shims 6 and 61, 62, 63 are used only for rough gradation of the length of the ball racket, while the fine gradation is achieved by the adjusting force of the adjusting screw 9. This results in a shift in weight so that, for example, a “medium” racket can be adjusted in the direction of “low” or “high”, and can thus be adapted at any time to the skill, the playing style and / or the strength of the player.
  • the handle end 1 or the handle 2 are wrapped in a manner known per se with a grip tape 14. .
  • the shim 6 or the shims 61, 62, 63 can have a self-centering shape, so that when they are placed on the correspondingly shaped front 3 of the shaft end 1 and by pressing the handle head 7 with the Adjusting washers 6 or 61, 62, 63 also adapted inner end face 15 to the adjusting washers 6 or 61, 62, 63 by means of the adjusting screw 9 are automatically pulled or pressed into the correct axial position.
  • the shims 6 and 61, 62, 63, the front 3 and the end face 15 of the grip head 7 are plate-shaped.
  • the plate rim 16 causes centering.
  • a cone or pyramid shape or a disk shape with concentric wave and valley rings or similar configurations can also be provided.
  • a sleeve attachment 17 can be formed on the grip head 7, which, according to the upper half of FIG. 2, only overlaps the adjusting disks 6 or 61, 62, 63.
  • the racket length is adjusted with the grip tape 14 removed, which is then fastened again in a known manner.
  • the sleeve extension 17 can, however, also extend over the entire handle length, for example 20-30 cm long, as shown in the lower half of FIG. In this embodiment, the fine adjustment of the racket length is possible without removing the grip 14.
  • a mark 19 is advantageously embossed and / or printed on the handle shaft 2 in the region of the end edge 18 of the sleeve attachment 17, which, in conjunction with the end edge 18 of the sleeve attachment 17 (according to the design of the lower half of FIG. 2), has an adjustment mark, for example a scale, forms. This allows the player to easily adjust the racket to the desired «severity.
  • the resetting of the grip head 7 is effected in both variants of FIG. 2 by the elasticity of the adjusting disc (s) 6 or 61, 62, 63.
  • any not too soft, rubber-elastic material in particular soft elastomers such as rubber, soft polyvinyl chloride, soft polyurethane, preferably in foamed form, foam or foam rubber or else is suitable as material for the adjusting washers 6 or 61, 62, 63 compressible copolymers or the like ...
  • the grip head 7, optionally with the sleeve extension 17, advantageously consists of metal, such as aluminum, zinc die-cast or zinc injection molding, brass, bronze etc., or of a tough elastic plastic, such as hard polyvinyl chloride, hard polyurethane, polyamide, polyethylene, polypropylene , Polystyrene etc.
  • the sleeve extension 17 has a circumferential recess 20 at the end of the handle shaft 2 on the field of impact, the length of which corresponds to the maximum adjustment of the shims 6 or 61, 62, 63 by compression.
  • the recess 20 can be covered by a cover plate 21 or also completely filled with volume-compressible material, such as foam plastic.
