Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for folding flat copies, such as Folded copies that are made in folders, the web processing Rotary printing presses are subordinate.
- EP 0 663 363 B1 is already a device for guiding sheet-like materials with at least one roller core and several applied thereon Lamellar rings and a method for producing the device are known.
- the device is for guiding sheet-like materials, such as paper, Textile or film webs with at least one roller core and several applied thereon
- lamellar rings which consist of an elastic material.
- the slat rings are arranged symmetrically to the axial center plane of the roll core and are strung together in a mirror image starting from the center. They form axially adjacent to each other an almost closed surface.
- the lamellar rings have at least a predetermined kink, the cross section of the lamellar rings approximately Z-shaped is executed.
- the outer circumference shifts axially and symmetrically to the axial median plane.
- the cylindrical surface remains the parallelism to the roll axis.
- the lamellar rings can with this from the Solution known from the prior art preferably made of rubber, natural rubber, plastics or similar materials.
- DE-OS 29 05 548 relates to a folding roller.
- the coverings are prefabricated rings made of slightly elastic deformable, for example rubber-elastic plastic.
- the rings can be in Use ring grooves, which are provided in the roll shell under tension, the Rings over their entire width by at least approximately parallel to the folding roller axis running grooves have formed corrugation.
- the metallic surface areas between the rings however, have a smooth, corrugated surface. Means This solution is intended to promote a particularly reliable, unhindered outflow the air-enabling folding roller are provided, which are easier and cheaper to manufacture has a longer lifespan and in which the wear is predominant underlying areas are more easily renewable as such.
- the Folding roller has a cylindrical core on which to form recesses predetermined positions, between them sleeve-shaped sections made of rubber-elastic Material and sleeve-shaped sections made of metal are slidably arranged.
- the outside knurling have to ensure, are circumferential grooves on the inner surface of these sections recessed, in which O-rings made of rubber-elastic material are inserted.
- Folded products can cause folds to break in the innermost copy layers.
- Opening one on its fold back by connecting elements, such as staples multilayered fold copies held together, can occur when a Fold innermost layer from the copy, for example a magazine or a magazine fall out because it is without hold, the staples no holding force exercise more on the innermost copy layer - also known as the middle layer capital.
- the middle layer undergoes an approximately 180 ° deflection on its fold back, whereby the respective substrate is very stressed.
- the mechanical stability of the web can decrease considerably due to embrittlement, so that with heavy loads - such as in the form of a 180 ° bend, the Occurrence of fold breaks is favored.
- the other layers surrounding the middle layer are relatively insensitive to the occurrence of fold breaks because the fold back per copy location with increasing number of copies advertisements rounds off.
- the invention has for its object the occurrence of fold breaks to avoid folded copies and to significantly increase the copy quality.
- the unfolded sections of the innermost copy layers are rounded and thus offer enough Space for closing the connection elements of the copy layers, such as Staples.
- the unfolded areas of the folded back are preferred in the positions in which the staples will later be inserted in the copy, to hold the individual copy layers together.
- the stapling position and thus the location of the unfolded areas of the fold back are preferably in format-dependent Positions placed, for example in the head and foot area of an A4 copy or in the marginal areas of a delta fold copy.
- the ones to be produced are located Fold back preferably parallel to the grain of the substrate.
- the formation of a folded back can be carried out with these interrupting unfolded sections by pushing in the copy layers or the Copies are made in a nip between folding rollers.
- Another variant of the method is that Formation of the fold back interrupted by unfolded sections during the Transversal folding process at the transition of the copy layers from the scope of a copy-leading Cylinder on the next cylinder leading the example, for example the jaw cylinder to produce when folding across.
