- the linear movement of the hold-down roller 21 and the pivoting movement of the bag 13 are controlled by a curve 23 and transmitted to the hold-down roller and the bag by a lever system 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29.
- transport rollers 30 begin to transport the envelope into the end position on the bag 13 (see also FIG. 5). As soon as this position is reached, the bag 13 swings down and the hold-down roller 21 is moved up. While the envelope is being pushed onto the packing bag 13, the prepared envelope content 38 is conveyed into the packing bag on a feed plate 60 from the opposite side, transported by transport fingers 34 attached to a toothed belt 33 guided over rollers 31 and 32 (see also FIG. 6 ). There are lugs 35 and 36 on the upper side of the packing bag so that the transport fingers 34 do not line up with the envelope flap 2. The end 37 of the packing bag facing the added envelope content is shaped like a funnel.
- the transport fingers 34 take over the pushing out of the contents 38 together with the envelope 3 to conveyor belts 43 and 44 guided on rollers 39, 40, 41 and 42.
- the envelopes and the contents are conveyed by the belts 43 and 44 to a further processing station of the inserting machine (see also Fig. 7).
- the envelope content 38 never comes to a standstill, but is pushed at a continuous speed through the packing pocket 13 into the envelope 3 and together with the latter between the conveyor belts 43 and 44.
- the transport rollers 45 it is gripped between the latter and the lower conveyor belt 43 and transported out of the inserting module by the conveyor belts 43 and 44, where it can be prepared for shipping by other modules.
- the transport rollers 20 are rotatably connected to the shaft 46 driven by toothed belts, and the transport rollers 45 are mounted on the same shaft with ball bearings.
- the next envelope is removed from the stack 1 at the moment when the previous, filled envelope begins to be removed from the packing bag 13.
- the point of intersection of the two envelope flaps lies in the area below the hold-down roller 21.
- the entire inserting module is driven by a motor 47, which can be regulated continuously by a frequency converter. All moving parts of the module are driven by this motor. This guarantees that all movements run synchronously with each other, which is necessary for trouble-free functioning.
- Fig. 3 shows a section along line III-III of Fig. 2.
- the motor 47 drives to a gear 49 connected to the shaft 4 in a rotationally fixed manner .
- the transport segments 8 and 9 are connected to the shaft 4 in a rotationally fixed manner.
- a toothed belt 53 and a gear wheel 55 connected in a rotationally fixed manner to a second shaft 54, the opening claws 5 are driven via a clutch 12 6 and 7.
- a gear 56 is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the shaft 54 and drives a further gear 58 connected to the opening claws 5, 6 and 7 via a toothed belt 57.
- the gear 58 and the opening claws 5, 6 and 7 are rotatably mounted on the shaft 4 with ball bearings.
- the gear wheels 56 and 58 form a reduction gear, so that the opening claws rotate more slowly than the transport segments 8 and 9.
- the shaft 54 is also mounted in the side plates 50 and 51 and is axially secured.

- the envelope 3 is in the position shown in FIG. 4 with its flap below the hold-down roller 21. The end of the flap is against the front part 61 of the packing bag 13.

- the hold-down roller 21 has been lowered, and the bag 13 has been pivoted about its pivot point 22 with its front part 61 upward in the direction of the hold-down roller 21.
- the envelope is deformed somewhat and opened slightly in the process and can slide over the bag 13.
- the transport rollers 30 transport the envelope into the end position on the packing bag 13.
- FIG. 6 shows the same section of the inserting device as FIGS. 4 and 5.
- the envelope is in the position according to FIG. 6 in the end position on the packing bag 13.
- the packing bag is pivoted downward about the pivot point 22 and the hold-down roller 21 been moved up.
- the envelope content 38 was conveyed into the packing bag by the transport fingers 34 while the envelope was being pushed onto the packing bag.
- FIG. 7 shows the same section of the packing device as in FIG. 6. According to this position, the contents 38 are pushed out of the packing bag by the transport fingers 34 together with the envelope.
- the envelope is conveyed via a transfer plate 59 through the transport rollers 45 to the conveyor belts 43 and 44 and is transported therefrom out of the inserting module, where the envelope is made ready for dispatch by other modules.
- Fig. 8 shows a perspective view of the packing bag from below. This has two bent edges 62 and 63, between which the envelope content is pushed. The end 61 of the packing bag facing the stack of envelopes is bent over. The opposite end 37 is for optimal reception of the envelope content funnel-shaped. There are two slots 64 and 65 through which the transport fingers 34 can reach. The lugs 35 and 36 serve to slightly lift the envelope pushed over the flap so that the transport fingers do not line up with the flap.
- the inserting device has very few translationally moved or oscillating parts in order to keep the mass forces that occur. With the exception of the hold-down roller 21, the packing bag 13 and the lever system acting on them, only rotary movements otherwise occur. With the hold-down roll and the bag, there are only small displacement or swivel angles.
