Definitions
- the present invention relates to an inserting device with a container for empty envelopes and a method for operating this inserting device.
- the inserting device or the inserting module forms the central part of an inserting machine.
- the flap 2 of the bottom envelope 3 is opened with one of three opening claws 5, 6 or 7 arranged on a shaft 4.
- the transport segments 8, 9 and the transport rollers 10, 11 have the same peripheral speed.
- the opening claws 5, 6 and 7 and the transport segments 8 and 9 are on the same shaft 4 arranged, but independently supported and driven.
- the opening claws 5, 6 and 7 rotate in an integer ratio more slowly than the transport segments 8 and 9.
- the opening claws 5, 6 and 7 are regularly arranged on the circumference.
- the number of opening claws and thus the speed ratio of opening claws: transport segments depends on the envelopes used.
- the opening claws are triggered by a clutch 12 only when packaging is to be made.
- the transport segments 8, 9 and transport rollers 10, 11 run continuously.
- hold-down devices 14 and 15 ensure that the envelope is guided along a guide plate 16.
- Two further pairs of transport rollers 17, 18; 19, 20 guarantee the safe transport of the envelope.
- the bag 13 begins to pivot towards the envelope about a pivot point 22.
- the linear movement of the hold-down roller 21 and the pivoting movement of the bag 13 are controlled by a curve 23 and transmitted to the hold-down roller and the bag by a lever system 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29.
- transport rollers 30 begin to transport the envelope into the end position on the bag 13 (see also FIG. 5). As soon as this position is reached, the bag 13 swings down and the hold-down roller 21 is moved up. While the envelope is being pushed onto the packing bag 13, the prepared envelope content 38 is conveyed into the packing bag on a feed plate 60 from the opposite side, transported by transport fingers 34 attached to a toothed belt 33 guided over rollers 31 and 32 (see also FIG. 6 ). There are lugs 35 and 36 on the upper side of the packing bag so that the transport fingers 34 do not line up with the envelope flap 2. The end 37 of the packing bag facing the added envelope content is shaped like a funnel.
- the transport fingers 34 take over the pushing out of the contents 38 together with the envelope 3 to conveyor belts 43 and 44 guided on rollers 39, 40, 41 and 42.
- the envelopes and the contents are conveyed by the belts 43 and 44 to a further processing station of the inserting machine (see also Fig. 7).

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an inserting device with a container for empty envelopes and a method for operating this inserting device.
In known inserting machines, the envelope is pulled off a stack, brought into position, opened and then the contents are pushed in, which leads to a standstill which slows down the packing speed. In this known machine, various elements perform reciprocation, which means that the packaging speed of this known inserting machine is limited.
It is an object of the present invention to avoid the disadvantages of the prior art and to provide an inserting device with which the packaging speed can be approximately doubled. This is achieved according to the invention by the characterizing features of

Die Vorbehandlung des Kuvertinhaltes, d.h. der Briefbogen, Endlosformulare, Prospekte etc., wie Schneiden, Gruppieren, Falten etc., sowie die Nachbehandlung der gefüllten Kuverts, wie Schliessen, Verkleben, Frankieren, Bündeln etc., finden ausserhalb der hier beschriebenen Kuvertiervorrichtung statt.1, the basic structure and the process sequence of the inserting device for an inserting machine are to be described. The inserting device or the inserting module forms the central part of an inserting machine. Pretreatment of the envelope content, i.e. the letterhead, endless forms, brochures etc., such as cutting, grouping, folding etc., as well as the post-treatment of the filled envelopes, such as closing, gluing, franking, bundling etc., take place outside the inserting device described here.
From a vertical stack 1 of empty and unsealed envelopes, which are arranged with their bent flap downward, the
When the open envelope is transported further in the direction of a

Fig. 3 zeigt einen Schnitt gemäss Linie III-III der Fig. 2. Fig. 3 shows a section along line III-III of Fig. 2. Via a
The inserting device has very few translationally moved or oscillating parts in order to keep the mass forces that occur. With the exception of the hold-down
With the inserting device according to the invention, outputs of up to 26,000 packs per hour can be achieved, which corresponds to a doubling of the capacity compared to the known inserting machines.
