Definitions

  • the invention relates to a piston press for squeezing liquid from a material to be pressed, in particular from a lot of wet textiles, with a cylindrical jacket which can be locked at the bottom by a perforated pressure plate and into which the material can be inserted, a stamp with an elastically resilient cup-shaped Upholstery body, which is connected to the stamp with its opening edge, a connecting piece on the stamp opening into the cavity of the cushion body, which is connected to a line for introducing water into the cushion body, and a pressure cylinder for moving the stamp in and out into the from the jacket and to generate the pressing pressure on the material to be pressed with the cavity of the cushion body completely closed by the movement of the plunger caused by the pressure cylinder on the material to be pressed.
  • the connecting piece on the press ram is stopped by one during its standstill Hose connected to the water network and water introduced into the cushion body. Since the water is subjected to a high pressure during pressing, the interior of the upholstery body is completely closed, so that the air in the upholstery body cannot escape.
  • the cushion body is pressed together comparatively strongly, so that cracks easily occur, in particular at the clamped opening edge of the cushion body.
  • the object of the invention is to improve the known piston press in such a way that the cushion body has a long service life.
  • the inventor has recognized that the strong deformation of the cushion body during pressing is caused by the air remaining in the cavity of the drop-shaped cushion body.
  • the air contained in the cavity of the cushion body is compressed to a fraction of its volume, with the result that the cushion body is also compressed by a relatively large amount. It is now achieved by the invention that, by appropriate actuation of the valve device, water can first be introduced into the upholstery body, for example with the pressure of the water network. Then the valve device is switched so that the cavity of the cushion body is connected to the outside, so that the air still contained in the cushion body can escape from the cushion body.
  • the upholstery body is pressed against the pressure plate with the ram until water emerges from the valve device and thereby indicates that there is no air in the upholstery body.
  • the valve device is then switched back to the water supply and the cushion body is filled with water until the membrane is curved downward. Since water is practically incompressible and the cylindrical shell encompasses the cushion body during pressing, its side walls are only slightly deformed during pressing.
  • a membrane press which differs generically from the piston press mentioned at the outset in that the ram locks in a pressing position and the pressing pressure for squeezing the liquid out of the material to be pressed by pumping up the there as a pot membrane trained cushion body is generated, which leads to the deformation of the membrane wall reducing the service life of the pot membrane much more than in the prior art mentioned.
  • an advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the press ram in its lower surface facing the pressure plate for engaging the opening edge of the pot-shaped upholstery body and a clamping ring has an annular groove, which is provided in its radially outer wall next to the bottom of the groove with a circumferential recess, that at the outer opening edge of the cup-shaped upholstery body there is a circumferential bead for engaging in the circumferential recess and that continuous in the press ram There are holes for screws, by means of which the clamping ring can be drawn into the groove on the inside of the opening edge.
  • the opening edge is deformed when pressing outside the nip directly next to the nip.
  • the radially outer wall of the annular groove and the outer surface of the clamping ring facing it are frustoconical surfaces tapering upwards. This gives the opening edge of the upholstery body a conically widening shape that promotes deformation of the upholstery body at high pressure to the outside and thus leads to the smallest possible bending loads on the opening edge at the clamping point.
  • a further advantageous embodiment of a piston press results from the features of claim 10.
  • a link a chain, a rope, a rod or the like can. be provided. If this connector is connected with its ends in the upper position of the press ram with this and with the press head, then the press ram is rotated about its axis by the connection member when the press ram is moved down by the resulting increase in the distance between the press ram and the press head. But you can also hinge the connecting link as a kink-proof rod only with its upper end on the press head and let its lower end rest on the press ram. When the lowered ram is raised, it is rotated by the pressure of the connecting member acting obliquely on it.
  • a piston press for pressing water out of a lot of wet textiles that have been washed in an upstream washing machine is described below as an exemplary embodiment.
  • the piston press shown in the drawing has a pressure cylinder 10 which is attached to a press head 11 and a plunger 13 is attached to the piston rod 12 projecting from under the press head 11.
  • the press head 11 is firmly connected to a machine frame, not shown in the drawing.
  • the peripheral surface of the ram 13 is cylindrical.
  • a cylindrical jacket 15 is provided for receiving the item 14 of wet laundry to be pressed out.
  • the inside diameter of the jacket 15 is slightly larger than the outside diameter of the press ram 13.
  • the cylindrical jacket 15 is closed at the bottom by a perforated pressure plate 16 which is firmly connected to the machine housing, not shown in the drawing.
  • the cylindrical jacket 15 is connected up and down with a lifting device, not shown in the drawing, and in its lowermost position, together with the pressure plate 16, forms a container for the item 14 of wet laundry.
  • the press die 13 is connected on its underside to the opening edge 17 of a cup-shaped cushion body 18 which is made of an elastically resilient material, e.g. Rubber, plastic or the like.
  • the latter has on its underside a circumferential annular groove 19 which is provided for the engagement of the opening edge 17 and a clamping ring 21.
  • a circumferential recess 22 is provided directly next to the base of the groove.
  • the clamping ring 21 has in its upper end face threaded bores for screws 23 which reach through bores 24 of the press ram 13 and are provided for engagement in the threaded bores of the clamping ring 21.
  • the radially outer wall of the annular groove 19 and the outer surface of the clamping ring 21 facing it are essentially truncated cone surfaces tapering upward to the same extent.
  • the opening edge 17 of the cushion body 18 has on its outer part a circumferential bead 25 which is adapted to the circumferential recess 22 within the annular groove 19.
  • the clamping ring 21 is first inserted into the annular groove 19 such that the threaded bores of the clamping ring 21 coincide with the bores 24 of the press ram 13. Then the screws 23 are screwed somewhat into the threaded bores of the clamping ring 21 so that it still partially protrudes from the annular groove 19.
  • the opening edge 17 of the cushion body is then inserted into the space between the clamping ring 21 and the outer wall of the annular groove 19 such that the bead 25 engages in the recess 22. Then the screws 23 are screwed further into the clamping ring 21, so that it is pressed firmly against the opening edge 17 of the cushion body 18.
  • a bore 26 connects the underside of the ram 13 and thus the cavity of the cushion body 18 with a connecting piece 27 for a flexible hose 28.
  • a guide tube 29 for the hose 28 is guided displaceably in the press head 11 and rests with its weight on the upper side of the press ram 13.
  • the lower end of the hose 28 protrudes from a slot in the guide tube and is the end which projects out of the guide tube 29 at the top connected to the upper end of a vertically arranged tube 31, the lower end of which is connected to the first ends of two manual valves 32 and 33.
  • the second end of the manual valve 32 is connected to the public water network via a line 34.
  • the second end of the manual valve 33 leads to the outside.
  • the cushion body 18, as can be seen in particular from FIG. 1, is cup-shaped. Its bottom forms a flat in the empty state of the cushion body 18 or, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, slightly convexly curved membrane 35, which serves to nestle against the pressed material 14 and has an outer diameter which is somewhat larger than the inner diameter of the Sheath 15. Since the outer diameter of the press ram 13 is smaller than the inner diameter of the sheath 15, the circumferential surface of the cushion body 18 in the empty state has a frustoconically widening shape (FIG. 4).
  • the manual valve 32 is first opened when the manual valve 33 is closed, so that the cushion body 18 is partially filled with water.
  • the manual valve 32 is closed, the manual valve 33 is opened and the plunger 13 is slowly lowered onto the pressure plate 16 or an item of wet laundry located thereon until water emerges from the manual valve 33.
  • the press ram 13 is raised and then the valve 32 for filling the cushion body 18 with water is opened until the membrane 35 is convexly curved in accordance with FIG. 5 that the outside diameter of the membrane 35 is approximately the inside diameter of the jacket 15 corresponds to.
  • FIG. 2 On the upper side of the press ram 13, as can be seen from FIG. 2, four threaded holes 36, regularly distributed near the circumference of the press ram, are provided for connecting screws, not shown in the drawing, which are attached to one end of a connecting member 37, the other end carries the same connecting screw, which is provided for engagement in a threaded bore 38 in the underside of the press head 11.
  • a chain or a rope is provided as a connecting link.
  • a rod can also be provided as the connecting member 37, the two ends of which have the connecting screws are articulated.
  • the length of the connecting member 37 is dimensioned such that it is greater than the greatest distance between the underside of the press head 11 and the upper side of the press ram 13 and thereby with a full stroke of the press ram 13 from top to bottom through the connecting member 37 by 90 ° in Direction of the arrow shown in Fig.2 is rotated.
  • a kink-proof rod can also be provided as the connecting member 37, which has a friction body, e.g. carries a rubber foot and is hinged with its upper end in a lower position of the press ram 13 to the underside of the press head 11.
  • a friction body e.g. carries a rubber foot and is hinged with its upper end in a lower position of the press ram 13 to the underside of the press head 11.
  • This connecting member 37 is only occasionally used at the same time intervals, so that the cushion body 18 is always rotated into a different angular position at the same time intervals. After a total rotation of approximately 270 °, the connecting member 37 is then arranged on the press ram 13 on the side of the piston rod 12 that is different from the illustration in FIG. 2, so that it is then rotated in the opposite direction and the hose 28 is not wound around the piston rod 12.
  • the press ram 13 is inserted into the cylindrical jacket 15 by means of the pressure cylinder 10 . Since here the cushion body 18 touches the inner surface of the jacket 15 essentially only with the outer circumference of the membrane 35, which essentially corresponds to the inside diameter of the jacket 15, the friction between the cushion body 18 and the jacket 15 during the infeed movement of the press die 13 is very small .
  • the cushion body 18 is pressed onto the item of laundry 14, the convex curvature of the membrane 35 is reduced, so that its outer circumference is pressed against the inner wall of the jacket 15 and a desired good seal is thereby achieved with the now small pressing movement of the pressing die 13.
  • the water is pressed out of the cylindrical jacket through the holes of the ram 13. Since the cushion body 18 is filled with water without the inclusion of air and can practically not expand radially during pressing because of the jacket that surrounds it, its circumference is not kinked during pressing but essentially only compressed so that cracks in the cushion body 18 are avoided.
  • the jacket 15 is then moved upwards by means of the lifting device (not shown) and the press ram 13, so that the pressed-out laundry item 14 can be removed from the pressure plate 16.
  • the angle of rotation by which the ram 13 is rotated by means of the connecting member 37 is not critical and can be adapted to the particular circumstances.
  • the rotation can thus be carried out by 30 or 45 ° or the like, the change of the side of the piston rod 12 on which the connecting element is arranged then only being necessary after more than three rotations.
