Definitions

  • the invention relates generically to a sheet-like, vegetation-inhibiting floor covering which has a plastic film made of polyurethane or preferably high-density polyethylene.
  • plastic films have z. B. a thickness of 80 microns or more and a web width of about one meter.
  • Such vegetation-inhibiting floor coverings have long been used in a wide variety of areas of agriculture and technology (see, for example, DE-A-2 261 908).
  • such floor coverings are also used along highways, e.g. B. below the guardrails.
  • the guardrails are supported by supports that are four meters apart, and the floor coverings have to cut out the supports.
  • Sunlight and in particular ultraviolet rays and their wind protection are therefore insufficient, which manifests itself in the fact that the idle time is too short.
  • the object underlying the invention is to further develop a generic floor covering so that it is windproof and sufficiently resistant to sunlight and in particular ultraviolet rays.
  • the invention teaches that a bituminous protective layer against sunlight, in particular ultraviolet rays, is applied to the surface of the plastic film, which at the same time is designed as an adhesive layer, and that the adhesive layer also fixes a wind protection layer made of specifically heavy bulk material on the plastic film .
  • a bituminous protective layer against sunlight in particular ultraviolet rays
  • the adhesive layer also fixes a wind protection layer made of specifically heavy bulk material on the plastic film .
  • _ Floor coverings of several layers, in which an uppermost layer consists of heavy bulk material for wind protection and the bulk material is fixed by a binder, are known per se (DE-A-35 15 144). However, it is not the sheet-like floor coverings with plastic film as the bottom layer.
  • the bottom layer is a cardboard layer, which is impregnated with a herbicide, but should weather and after z. B. two vegetation periods should be grown through the grass, which is then easily mowed.
  • the invention is based on the knowledge that the bituminous protective layer can have a double function. Surprisingly, on the one hand it achieves effective protection of the plastic film against sunlight, in particular against ultraviolet rays, but on the other hand it also holds a wind protection layer made of specifically heavy bulk material on the Plastic film firmly. It is understood that the plastic film is impermeable to water to inhibit vegetation.
  • the protective layer preferably consists of road bitumen, which has proven itself as a binder in road construction, but according to the invention also functions as a protective layer. Road construction bitumen is advantageous because of its dark color because it serves as a good absorber in the sense of its protective function against ultraviolet rays according to the invention.
  • the road bitumen can be alloyed with one or more elastomers.
  • the protective layer is expediently applied as an emulsion. When broken, it preferably has a weight of about 0.4 kg / m2 (about 4 N / m2).
  • the wind protection layer which in a preferred embodiment consists of stony granules, it is sufficient that the bulk density is approximately 5 kg / m2 (approximately 50 N / m2).
  • the granules can have grains in the range from two millimeters to a few centimeters.
  • the wind protection layer not only provides wind protection, but also protection against swimming if water gets under the floor covering.
  • Another preferred embodiment of the invention is characterized in that a layer of paint is applied to the wind protection layer and a cover made of glass balls is applied thereon. It is recommended that the glass balls, which have a diameter of about 1 mm, in the densest ball packing, e.g. B. from at least two layers. If you work with a cover made of glass balls, the result is an additional, considerable advantage.
  • the glass balls contribute to wind protection on the one hand, but also cause light reflection at night, which makes the edge strips visible in the headlights of a motor vehicle.
  • the floor covering according to the invention can be easily optimized in terms of laying technology.
  • their longitudinal sides of the plastic film can be provided with overlap seams which can additionally contain connecting recesses. These overlap seams can also be used as edge reinforcement due to the foil underside.
  • the plastic film of a floor covering according to the invention can also have transverse folds.
  • the only figure shows in perspective a floor covering with stony granules as a wind protection layer.
  • a web-shaped, vegetation-inhibiting floor covering 1 can be seen in a perspective view.
  • this protective layer 3 serves as a binder layer, which fixes a wind protection layer 4 made of specifically heavy bulk material 6 on the plastic film 2.
  • the protection or. Binder layer 3 preferably consists of road construction bitumen or of an alloy of road construction bitumen and an elastomer.
  • the wind protection layer 4 fixed thereon has a bulk density of approximately 5 kg / m2 (approximately 50 N / m2), and preferably consists of stony granules 6. These granules 6 can have grains in the range from two millimeters to a few centimeters. - It is understood that you can also apply a cover made of glass balls in the manner described, which has a light reflecting effect.
