Definitions

  • the subject of the present application is a thread control for sewing machines with a web gripper oscillating in a vertical plane according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
  • CB hooks Sewing machines with oscillating web hooks, so-called CB hooks, have the advantage over other hook systems that the upper thread loop around the hook and the bobbin case is not twisted and that the free thread passage between the hook and driver finger is ensured by the reverse movement of the driver and hook without special aids is.
  • Such grippers are therefore generally very insensitive to thread tension and result in a nice, uniform seam.
  • the CB gripper also has a mutual friction between the two thread legs of the needle thread, the thickness of which may vary depending on the sewing conditions (stitch type, stitch length, stitch width, thread quality, sewing speed, etc.) and, under certain conditions, has an adverse effect on the sewing result.
  • the needle thread loop is completely guided around the hook body and the bobbin case with the bobbin thread contained therein and dropped shortly before the hook reversal point.
  • the loop is then drawn into the material by the thread feeder.
  • the front thread leg of the loop which leads to the needle, is pulled up, while the thread leg coming from the material behind the hook behaves almost passively.
  • the lower thread leading from the bobbin case to the underside of the sewing material runs between the two thread legs and does not hinder the thread feed. If the stitch length and stitch width are large, the needle sticks behind the lower thread running between the bobbin case and the sewing material at the transition from the right-hand stitch to the left-hand stitch.
  • DE-GM 7016286 describes a sewing machine with a rotating hook. After it has detached itself from the rotating hook, the needle thread loop is guided by a horn-shaped arm and a holding finger resting against it, on the one hand to prevent mutual friction or contact of the threads, and on the other hand to counteract an uneven loosening of the loop.
  • This measure fulfills the demands placed on it by rotating web grabs. It is not possible to transfer them to oscillating web grippers.
  • German patent specification 423 990 a nose is arranged on the bobbin case of a rotating hook which holds back the leg of the needle thread loop leading to the material to be sewn until the leg of the loop leading to the thread supply is pulled between the bobbin case and the retaining finger is.
  • the object of the present invention is now to avoid the disadvantages of the known devices and to provide a device in which the thread is actively guided when the needle is inserted to the left during the pulling up of the needle and can be pulled into the material without jerking after the needle thread loop has been released .
  • the gripper device is shown from the front as it presents itself to the operator when the casing of the sewing machine is opened and after the gripper track cover ring (not shown) is removed.
  • a kidney-shaped cam 9 is arranged on the plate-shaped surface 5 of the gripper driver 1 which faces the gripper 3 and which is mounted such that it can be driven to oscillate about an axis A within a gripper track ring 7.
  • the cam 9 is formed in one piece with the gripper driver 1, is permanently screwed, glued or attached and is made of metal or plastic.
  • the back 11 of the cam 9 is inclined and reaches the greatest height (h) or the greatest distance from the surface 5 in the region of the edge 15 lying in the direction of rotation when a needle thread loop 13 is formed.
  • In the edge 15 there is essentially one Recessed groove 17 running parallel to the surface 5, the depth of which decreases in the direction of the two ends 19 and 21.
  • FIGS. 10 and 11 A possible embodiment of a cam 9 is shown enlarged in FIGS. 10 and 11, which has a foot 23 which can be inserted into a congruently shaped recess on the gripper driver 1.
  • the gripper 3 is held in a known manner in a gripper track ring 7.
  • a bobbin case 27 with the lower thread 29 carried by the looper pin 25 on the rapier 3 is held by a flap 31 fastened to the bobbin case 27.
  • an upward retaining finger 33 is attached, which engages in the gripper track cover ring 7, not shown, and secures the bobbin case 27 against rotation.
  • the gripper track ring 7 is provided with an incision 37 according to FIG. 9, in which a nose 39, which rises towards the orbit of the gripper 3, is attached.
  • a groove 55 guiding the thread is embedded in the nose 39.
  • the incision 37 is at least partially covered by a thread guide plate 41 which is fastened to the hook race ring 7 by means of screws 43.
  • the cup-shaped gripper 3 has, at the point opposite the cam 9, a recess 45 running parallel to the contour of the edge 15 of the cam 9, the edge of which lies at a distance of less than one millimeter from the edge 15 and forms a uniform gap 47.
  • the cam 9 has its greatest height h along the gap 47 formed with the gripper 3.
  • the nose 39 in the notch 37 of the gripper track ring 7 has, as can be seen in FIG.
  • the needle thread loop 13 which is guided around the hook 3, essentially wraps around the lower thread 29 in a helical manner and is impeded when it is drawn into the material 61.
  • the needle thread 63 guided by a needle 59 from a needle 61 to the left of the center of the tap hole (axis B) has been gripped by the right-handed gripper 3 in FIGS. 1 to 3 and now forms the ever-increasing needle thread loop 13.
  • the rear leg 57 of Needle thread loop 13 has laid in the groove 55 of the nose 39 and is guided into the orbit of the groove 17 on the cam 9 by the inclined position of the groove 55.
  • the front leg 51 and the rear leg 57 of the needle thread loop 13 slide downward at the front and rear on the surface of the hook 3 and at the same time from right to left.
  • the needle thread loop 13 slides away from the hook 3, and the front leg 51 is pulled upwards by the thread feeder (not visible).
  • the rear leg 57 wraps around the cam 9 somewhat to the left against the bobbin case 27; the front leg 51 is held by the retaining finger 33 at a distance from the lower thread 29 and jumps as soon as the needle thread loop 13 only just wraps around the cam 9 over the free end of the retaining finger 33 of the bobbin case 27 (FIG. 5).
  • the rear leg 57 has been in the groove 17 and in the groove 55 of the nose 39; the front leg 51 wraps around the lower thread 29 and first slides over the ends 19 and 21 of the cam 9 over the back 11 thereof against the edge 15 (FIG. 6).
