Definitions
- the invention relates to a door seal, preferably for threshold-free doors, in which, at the end of the closing process, a sealing member moves into the sealing position at right angles to the closing direction.
- Another known device provides a profile that is inserted into the lower edge of the door and receives a sealing strip.
- the sealing strip is lowered by a trigger when the door is closed and raised mechanically when the door is opened.
- it is necessary to provide a groove on the lower edge of the door that can accommodate the profile.
- such a groove cannot be provided as standard on doors, since it often has to be planed off at the bottom in order to adapt the door.
- the groove must therefore be added for each door before the profile is installed.
- the construction is also very complex and prone to malfunctions, for example due to contamination.
- Another disadvantage is that the trigger that is supposed to lower the seal has only a very short trigger path available. A failure of the door seal cannot be ruled out due to this short release path. Reliability is considerably impaired by somewhat inaccurate installation or by subsequent lowering of doors.
- the invention has set itself the task of providing a door seal that works reliably and is easy to retrofit.
- the invention is based on a door seal of the type described in the introduction and proposes that a permanent magnetic sealing member cooperates with a magnetically effective counterpart along the lower edge of the door, the permanent magnetic sealing member and the counterpart running in parallel in the closed position of the door and the sealing member and / or the counterpart are movably guided.
- the counterpart can be a ferromagnetic material or another permanent magnet.
- the permanent magnet (s) have a pole arrangement in the longitudinal direction of the lower edge of the door and so in the closed position the magnetic circuit is closed along the permanent magnet (s) or the counterpart.
- the magnetic forces only become effective when the door is almost closed, so that neither the movable sealing member inhibits the closing process when the door is closed, nor does it graze the floor, for example, during the opening process.
- the movable sealing member sits on the floor in a flat threshold.
- This type of construction is particularly suitable when the creation of a groove in the floor is not desired.
- the threshold can be kept so flat that there is no risk of stumbling. A pleasing appearance is achieved by appropriately coloring the threshold.
- a sealing member that can be lowered into the floor can be designed on its surface so that it does not stand out from the rest of the floor.
- the active surfaces of the sealing member and counterpart which meet are designed to be concave or convex.
- the part of the seal that sits on the floor is preferably convex. This ensures that dirt particles do not remain on the sealing member, cleaning is easy and the sealing effect is fully given even in the event of unevenness or wear.
- a return force acts on the movable sealing member.
- the return force can either be gravity. This applies in the event that the movable sealing member sits in the floor and simply falls down when the door is opened.
- spring or lever forces can also be effective if the movable sealing member sits, for example, in the lower edge of the door and is raised by a spring when the door is opened.
- the spring force must be designed so that it is slightly weaker than the magnetic force.
- the movable sealing member sits in a U-shaped guide. If the U-shaped guide is, for example, a groove that runs in the bottom, the movable sealing member can simply be removed for cleaning purposes. Such a guide can also be easily retrofitted into the ground.
- the movable sealing member sits on a web.
- the web can also be easily retrofitted into the floor, for example.
- the movable sealing member is simply pulled out for cleaning purposes.
- the material from which the guides are made is, for example, aluminum or another material that does not impair the magnetic effect.
- a movable permanent magnetic sealing member 1 sits in a U-shaped guide 12.
- the U-shaped guide 12 in turn sits in the U-rail 7, which is embedded in the base 8. At their ends, the U-shaped guide 12 and the sealing member 1 close with the reveal of the door 4, not shown in detail.
- the U-shaped guide 12 is preferably made of aluminum and must be designed so that the movable sealing member 1 is held by it even in the raised state.
- the movable sealing member 1 consists of a deformable material and contains a strip-shaped permanent magnet in the upper region. A strip-like, resilient material is particularly suitable as a permanent magnet.
- the upper active surface 11 is flush with the surface 18 of the bottom 8.
- the active surface 11 of the movable sealing member 1 is slightly convex and can be designed in color so that it does not stand out from the rest of the floor surface.
- the lower door edge 2 is shown, which carries the counterpart 3.
- the counterpart 3 either consists of a permanent magnet or of another magnetically active material. As shown in Fig. 1, the counterpart 3 can be easily attached to the bottom edge 2 of the door, for example, by screwing. This also facilitates retrofitting.
- the active surface 10 of the counterpart 3, that is to say its underside, has a concave curvature which is adapted to the convex curvature of the sealing member 1.
- the counterpart 3 also consists of a permanent magnet, this is preferably arranged such that the north pole 5 of the counterpart 3 is opposite the south pole 6 of the movable sealing member 1 and likewise the south pole 14 of the counterpart 3 is opposite the north pole 15 of the movable sealing member 1.
- a magnetic closure is effected along the lower edge of the door, which is indicated by dash-dotted lines in Fig. 3.
- This arrangement has the advantage that the magnetic circuit is only closed when the door is almost completely closed, as indicated by position 16 in FIG. 4. In position 17 of Fig. 3, the magnets are not yet effective, which makes opening and closing the door easier.
- the lower hinge is designated 19.
- Fig. 2 shows an embodiment of a door seal according to the invention, which is particularly suitable for retrofitting.
- the movable sealing member 1 is seated in a threshold 9, which can be kept so flat that it does not pose a trip hazard.
- the guide for the sealing member 1 is formed here directly by the threshold 9.
- FIG. 5 A further variant is shown in FIG. 5.
- the movable sealing member 1 sits on a web 13.
- the web 13 has the same task as the U-shaped guide 12, namely the guidance of the sealing member.
- the movable sealing member can also be installed on the lower edge of the door and the like with the aid of a spring. be sunk in this. It is also possible to have the movable sealing element in the lower edge of the door to connect with a bellows or other elastic element, which takes over the task of pulling back in the open position and at the same time also serves as a guide element.
Abstract
Description
- Fig. 1 einen Schnitt durch eine erfindungsgemäße Türdichtung,
