Definitions

  • the invention relates to a handle for a squash racket or the like. According to the preamble of claim 1.
  • the handles for squash rackets known hitherto like the known tennis racket handles, have some significant disadvantages.
  • the known rackets are each firmly attached to a handle of a certain, unchangeable handle diameter, which results in a considerable inventory for each type of racket offered, which must be kept available with different handle diameters.
  • Another disadvantage of such a club provided with an unchangeable grip is that it can only be used by players of the same hand size, so that it is hardly possible for a player whose racket becomes unusable, for example due to a torn string, to play with a racket loaned by another person, since this racket generally does not have the correct handle diameter.
  • the grip cover is soaked through the moisture of the player's hand, whereby the necessary grip for a secure grip of the racket is lost. Since a quick replacement of the actual grip cover is not possible with the previously known racket grips, many players wrap the grip of their racket with an absorbent plastic tape provided with an adhesive layer, which, however, has to be replaced after a very short time and does not come close to the quality of a leather cover .
  • a handle for a sports racket is already known, the diameter of which is adjustable.
  • a handle body is arranged between the handle shaft and the outer casing, which can be adjusted in the radial direction of the handle by means of a wedge surface which can be displaced from the outside in such a way that the handle can be adjusted to the required handle thickness.
  • the adjustable handle body consists of a.
  • a large number of segments which are spaced apart from one another when the handle diameter increases, so that a large number of gaps running in the radial direction are formed in this known handle. Since this leads to a considerable impairment of the strength of the handle, these cavities in the known handle can be filled with an injectable or pourable and hardenable plastic, which however leads to the handle no longer being adjustable or replaceable.
  • Another disadvantage of this known handle is its relatively complicated structure, which increases its manufacturing costs considerably.
  • the object of the invention is to improve a handle of the type specified in the preamble of claim 1 so that the Handle diameter can be changed in a simple manner during the entire useful life of the sports racket, without the functionality of the handle being impaired, the handle at the same time having a simple structure and the outer handle cover should be quick and easy to replace.
  • the grip part determining the grip diameter consists of two half shells that can be assembled.
  • a cover for example made of leather or a plastic, is pulled over this handle part composed of the half-shells, whereupon this arrangement is pushed onto the handle shaft which tapers slightly towards the free end.
  • the half-shells lie firmly on the handle shaft, so that the handle has the required strength.
  • the half-shells can be slightly spaced apart when pushed onto the handle shaft, without this noticeably reducing the stability of the handle.
  • the free end of the handle thus formed is covered by an end cap which is fastened by means of a screw screwed into the handle shaft.
  • the half-shells forming the handle part are clamped between a bearing surface formed by the club shaft and the screwed-on cover cap, so that the handle composed of several detachable individual parts forms a fixed unit.
  • the handle diameter can be can be changed in a simple manner by unscrewing the rear end cap of the handle, pulling off the existing handle part with the sleeve from the handle shaft and replacing it with a handle part consisting of two half-shells corresponding to the desired handle thickness after this has been provided with the sleeve. Then only the new handle part has to be screwed on with the end cap.
  • the design according to the invention makes it unnecessary to stock a large number of squash rackets or the like of a certain type with all common grip strengths. Instead, the various half-shells with the corresponding shells, which form the grip part determining the grip diameter, have to be kept ready for each type of sports racket. There is also the possibility of buying a racket with different grip parts, so that, for example, two players with different hand shapes can use the sports racket alternately.
  • the handle cover be exchanged in a simple manner when it is worn out, but there is also the possibility of carrying out such an exchange in a short break when the handle cover is soaked, since such an exchange can be carried out in a few moments is.
  • the half-shells are expediently each provided with pins and recesses corresponding to these pins, so that in the assembled state the pins of each half-shell engage in the recesses of the respective other half-shell.
  • This design enables the half-shells to be put together particularly quickly and easily, where when they can be slightly spaced apart when pushed onto the handle shaft, so that they rest securely and firmly on the shaft, which ensures the required stability of the handle.
  • rings made of an elastic material are arranged at a distance from one another on the assembled half-shells. These rings hold the half-shells against each other and on the handle shaft until they are securely clamped through the end cap.
  • the rings arranged at a distance from one another on the half-shells also have the advantageous effect that the gripped sleeve is held securely and immovably by them.
  • these give the grip sleeve profiling rings an overall considerably increased grip, which has a particularly advantageous effect when using the sports racket.
  • the rings arranged on the half-shells are expediently made of rubber.
  • the half-shells can be provided with an outer profile, which in the assembled state of the half-shells have the shape of rings spaced apart from one another. This measure can also achieve an immovable arrangement of the grip cover and increased grip of the racket grip.
  • the half-shells in the assembled state have essentially a rectangular cross-sectional shape, the edges of the rectangle being flattened.
  • the grip shaft also has a rectangular cross-sectional shape, its outer surfaces being inclined toward one another at an angle of 1 ° toward its free end. Due to the rectangular cross-sectional shape of the handle shaft, the handle can be easily aligned with the club surface. The slight tapering of the handle shaft towards its free end makes it easier to slide on the handle part. At the same time, the wedge effect creates the necessary tension for the half-shells and the handle cover.
  • the handle shaft and the half-shells expediently consist of a plastic.
  • Figure 1 is a perspective view of the components of the handle according to the invention in an exploded view.
  • Fig. 2 is a partially sectioned side view of the handle according to the invention.
  • FIG. 3 shows a cross section along the line III-III in Fig. 2.
  • Fig. 4 shows a state when assembling the handle, in which the leather cover is pushed over the assembled half-shells and
  • FIG. 5 the operation of the screw after assembling the handle or for taking it apart.
  • Fig. 1 the individual components of the handle according to the invention are shown in a so-called exploded view.
  • a rack shaft 1 of a squash racket is adjoined by a grip shaft 2 which has a rectangular cross-sectional shape and tapers slightly towards its free end, as can be seen in particular from FIG. 2.
  • the handle consists of two half-shells 3, which can be assembled into a handle part that determines the handle diameter.
  • the half-shells 3 are provided with pins 4 and corresponding recesses 5, the pins 4 of each half-shell 3 engaging in the recesses 5 of the other half-shell 3 in the assembled state (see in particular FIG. 3).
  • Rubber rings 6 are arranged on the assembled half-shells 3, which give the finished assembled handle an advantageous profile. As shown in Fig. 4, a leather cover 7 is pulled from the side over the handle part provided with the rubber rings 6, which has the smaller cross-sectional dimensions and in the assembled state of the handle on the contact surface 8 of the club shaft 1 is essentially flush with this .
  • an end cap 9 is fastened to the handle shaft by means of a screw 10 by screwing the screw 10 into a threaded bore formed in the free end of the handle shaft 2 .
  • the half-shells 3 are fixed between the contact surface 8 and the end cap 9 ge hold, whereby the handle is a stable unit (Fig. 2).
  • Fig. 5 shows a fully assembled handle
  • the screw 10 has a slot of such a width that it can be rotated by means of a coin, so that the handle can be removed, for example, to replace the cover 7 on a playing field without special tools and put together again in a functional manner can.
  • the end cap 9 has two pins which engage in the gap between the two half-shells 3, so that the end cap is secured against rotation.
  • the two half-shells 3 can have different weights in pairs, so that the center of gravity of the racket can be changed.
  • This different weight can be material-related or can be achieved, for example, by parts of weight inserted into the half-shells.
