Als Salz wird ein Umsetzungsprodukt eines Copolymerisates aus Maleinsäureanhydrid und Aethylen, Propyien oder Styrol mit einem N,N-disubstituierten n-Alkylendiamin, ein Homopolymerisat eines Vinylpyridins oder ein quaterniertes Copolymerisat aus einem Vinylpiperidin und Styrol eingesetzt, wobei das Umsetzungsprodukt das Homo- und Copolymerisat mit z.B. Benzylchlorid quaterniert sind. Ein mit einem tertiären Monoamin quaterniertes Homopolymerisat eines Vinylbenzylchlorides kann auch als Ammoniumsalz eingesetzt werden. Die mit z.B. Direkt- oder Dispersionsfarbstoffen oder kationischen Farbstoffen gefärbten oder bedruckten Fasermaterialien weisen eine ausgezeichnete Egalität, eine gute Durchfärbung und eine gute Nassechtheit auf. Auch Mehrtoneffekte können beim stellenweisen Bedrucken mit einer Reservedruckpaste und anschliessenden Färben erzielt werden.
Description
- Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zum Färben oder Bedrucken von organischen Fasermaterialien unter Verwendung eines Färberei- oder Druckereihilfsmittels, dass dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass das Hilfsmittel als quaternäres Ammoniumsalz
- (a) ein Umsetzungsprodukt eines Copolymerisates aus Maleinsäureanhydrid und Aethylen, Propylen oder Styrol, mit einem N,N-disubstituierten 1,2-Aethylendiamin oder 1,3-Propylendiamin, worin die Substituenten je Alkyl mit 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen sind oder zusammen mit dem Stickstoffatom einen 5- oder 6-gliedrigen, gegebenenfalls noch ein Sauerstoffatom enthaltenden Ring bilden.
- (b) ein Homopolymerisat aus einem gegebenenfalls mit Methyl oder Aethyl an einem Ringkohlenstoffatom substituierten 4-Vinylpyridin,
- (c) ein Copolymerisat aus dem angegebenen Vinylpyridin und Styrol, wobei das Umsetzungsprodukt (a),das Homopolymerisat (b) und das Copolymerisat (c) jeweils mit Alkyl- oder Alkenylhalogeniden mit mindestens 6 Kohlenstoffatomen allein oder jeweils mit mindestens einem Halogenmethylnaphthalin, Halogenmethyldiphenyl, Chloracetamid, Chloracetonitril, einer Halogenessigsäure oder Alkalimetallsalzen oder Alkylestern dieser Säure mit 1 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen im Akylrest oder einem gegebenenfalls mit Halogen, Methyl oder Aethyl substituierten Benzylhalogenid gegebenenfalls in Gemisch untereinander oder mit einem Alkyl- oder Alkenylhalogenid mit höchstens 4 Kohlenstoffatomen quaterniert sind,
- oder
- (i) 3in Homopolymerisat eines 2- oder 4-Vinylbenzylchlorids ist, das mit einem tertiären Monoamin mit höchstens 20 Kohlenstoffatomen quaterniert ist, wobei zwei Substituenten des Monoamins je Alkyl mit 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen oder zussmen mit dem Stickstoffatom einem 5- oder 6-gliedrigen, gegebenenfalls noch ein Sauerstoffatom erhaltenden Ring bilden und der dritte Substituent des Monoamins Alkyl, Alkenyl oder gegebenenfalls durch Alkyl oder Alkylen substituiertes Aryl mit insgesamt höchstens 18 Kohlenstoffatomen ist, enthält.
- Die Verwendung der Komponenten (a), (b), (c) oder (d) als Färberei- oder Druckereihilfsmittel, sowie die verfahrensgemäss gefärbten oder bedruckten Fasermaterialien bilden weitere Gegenstände der vorliegenden Erfindung.
- Bevorzugte, im erfindungsgemässen Verfahren verwendete Hilfsmittel enthalten als quaternäre Ammoniumsalze entweder
-
- (a) ein Umsetzungsprodukt eines Copolymerisates aus Maleinsäureanhydrid und Aethylen, Propylen oder Styrol, mit einem N,N-disubstituierten 1,2-Aethylendiamin oder 1,3-Propylendiamin, worin die Substituenten je Alkyl mit 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen sind oder zusammen mit dem Stickstoffatom einen 5- oder 6-gliedrigen, gegebenenfalls noch ein Sauerstoffatom enthaltenden Ring bilden oder
- (b) ein Homopolymerisat aus einem gegebenenfalls mit Methyl oder Aethyl an einem Ringkohlenstoffatom substituierten 4-Vinylpyridin, wobei das Umsetzungsprodukt (a) und das Homopolymerisat (b) jeweils mit mindestens einem Halogenmethylnaphthalin, Halogenmethyldiphenyl, Chloracetamid, Chloracetonitril oder einem gegebenenfalls mit Halogen, Methyl oder Aethyl substituierten Benzylhalogenid gegebenenfalls in Gemisch untereinander oder mit einem Alkyl- oder Alkenylhalogenid mit höchstens 4 Kohlenstoffatomen quaterniert sind.
- Als Copolymerisate im Umsetzungsprodukt (a) kommen solche aus Maleinsäureanhydrid und Isopropylen, vorzugsweise aus Maleinsäureanhydrid und Aethylen und insbesondere aus Maleinsäureanhydrid und Styrol in Betracht. In diesen Copolymerisaten werden Maleinsäureanhydrid einerseits und Propylen, Aethylen oder Styrol andererseits vorzugsweise in äquimolaren Mengenverhältnissen eingesetzt. Zur Umsetzung dieser Copolymerisate zum Produkt (a) wird N,N-disubstituiertes 1,2-Aethylendiamin oder vor allem 1,3-Propylendiamin eingesetzt, worin die Substituenten zusammen mit dem Stickstoffatom z.B. einen Pyrrolidin-, Piperidin- oder vorzugsweise Morpholinring bilden, oder worin die Substituenten n-Propyl, vorzugsweise Aethyl oder insbesondere Methyl sind.
- Im Homopolymerisat (b) und Copolymerisat (c) ist 4-Vinylpyridin vorzugsweise nicht substituiert. Das Homopolymerisat (b) ist dem Copolymerisat (c) gegenüber bevorzugt. Im Copolymerisat (c) werden die Ausgangskomponenten in einem molaren Mengenverhältnis Styrol: Vinylpyridin von 1:1 bis 1:10, vorzugsweise 1:3 bis 1:6, und insbesondere 1:5 eingesetzt.
- Zur Quaternierung der Umsetzungsprodukte (a), der Homopolymerisate (b) und der Copolymerisate (c) werden als Quaternierungsmittel entweder ein Alkenyl- oder vorzugsweise ein Alkylhalogenid mit mindestens 6, vorzugsweise 6 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen, z.B. n-Dodecylchlorid für sich allein, oder ein Halogenmethyl-, z.B. Chlormethylnaphthalin oder -diphenyl, eine Halogenessigsäure oder deren Alkalimetallsalze oder deren Alkylester mit 1 - 12 Kohlenstoffatomen im Alkylrest, z.B. Chloressigsäure, deren Natriumsalz oder deren n-Dodecylester, vorzugsweise Chloracetamid oder Chloracetonitril, oder ein gegebenenfalls mit Halogen, z.B. Chlor, Aethyl oder vorzugsweise Methyl substituiertes und insbesondere unsubsituiertes Benzylhalogenid, z.B. Benzylchlorid eingesetzt, wobei die letzt-genannten Quaternierungsmittel allein, im Gemisch untereinander, z.B. ein Gemisch aus Benzylchlorid und Chloracetamid, 1-Chlormethylnaphthalin, Chloressigsäure-n-dodecylester oder Natriumchloracetat, oder im Gemisch mit einem Alkenyl- oder vorzugsweise Alkylhalogenid mit höchstens 4, vorzugsweise 1 oder 2 Kohlenstoffatomen, z.B. Methylchlorid, verwendet werden. So wird z.B. Methylchlorid nie für sich allein, sondern stets im Gemisch mit z.B. Benzylchlorid eingesetzt, während z.B. n-Dodecylchlorid stets für sich allein verwendet wird. Benzylchlorid insbesondere für sich allein aber auch im Gemisch mit Natriumchloracetat verwendet ist das im Vordergrund des Interesses stehende Quaternierungsmittel.
- Zur Quaternierung des Homopolymerisates (d) wird vor allem ein tertiäres Monoamin oder Amingemisch eingesetzt, wovon zwei Substituenten zusammen mit dem Stickstoffatom z.B. einen Pyrrolidin-, Piperidin-, vorzugsweise Pyridin- oder Morpholinring bilden oder wovon zwei Substituenten vorzugsweise Aethyl- und insbesondere Methylgruppen sind, während der dritte Substituent Alkenyl, vorzugsweise Alkyl und insbesondere durch Alkyl oder Alkylen mit 1 bis 4, vorzugsweise 1 oder 2 Kohlenstoffatomen substituiertes oder unsubstituiertes Aryl ist, wobei dieser dritte Substituent insgesamt höchstens 18, vorzugsweise 2 bis 18, insbesondere 4 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatome aufweist. Beispiele von bevorzugten tertiären Monoaminen dieser Art sind N,N-Dimethyl- oder N,N-Diäthyl-naphthylamin, -benzylamin, -anilin, ferner N-Methyl- oder N-Aethylpyridin, -piperidin, oder -morpholin, wobei vor allem Dimethylbenzylamin in Betracht kommt.
- Als besonders bevorzugte quaternäre Ammoniumsalze enthalten die erfindungsgemässen verwendeten Hilfsmittel (a) Umsetzungsprodukte eines Copolymerisates aus Maleinsäureanhydrid und Aethylen, insbesondere aus Maleinsäureanhydrid und Styrol, mit N,N-diäthyl- oder N,N-dimethyl-äthylendiamin, mit N-(3-Amino-n-propyl)-morpholin oder vorzugsweise mit N,N-Diäthyl-oder insbesondere N,N-Dimethyl-n-propylendiamin oder Homopolymerisate (b) aus unsubstituiertem 4-Vinylpyridin, wobei die Umsetzungsprodukte (a) vorzugsweise mit n-Dodecylchlorid, mit l-Chlormechyl-2-methylbenzol, mit 1-Chlormethylnaphthalin, mit Gemischen aus Benzylchlorid und 1-Chlormethylnaphthalin, Chloracetamid, Natriumchloracetat oder Methylchlorid oder insbesondere mit Benzylchlorid und die Homopolymerisate (b) als spezifisches Beispiel eines bevorzugten quaternären Ammoniumsalzes mit Benzylchlorid quaterniert sind. Als weiteres spezifisches Beispiels eines quaternären Ammoniumsalzes steht das mit Benzylchlorid quaternierte Umsetzungsprodukt eines Copolymerisates aus Maleinsäureanhydrid und Styrol mit N,N-Dimethyl-n-propylendiamin, welches im Vordergrund des Interesses steht.
- Die genaue chemische Konstitution der quaternären Ammoniumsalze in den erfindungsgemäss verwendeten Hilfsmittel ist nicht bekannt. Es ist jedoch anzunehmen, dass diese Salze wiederkehrende Einheiten aufweisen, die wahrscheinlich einer der Formeln

- Hierbei stehen die quaternären Ammoniumsalze mit wiederkehrenden Einheiten der Formel (30) und insbesondere (22) im Vordergrund des Interesses.
- Das Molekulargewicht der quaternären Ammoniumsalze in den erfindungsgemäss verwendeten Hilfsmitteln, die wiederkehrende Einheiten der Formeln (1), (2) oder (3) aufweisen, beträgt in der Regel 1500 bis 1 000 000. Demgemäss weisen die quaternären Ammoniumsalze im allgemeinen 4 - 3000, vorzugsweise 8 bis 3000 wiederkehrende Einheiten der Formeln (1), (2) oder (3) und insbesondere 1800 bis 2200 wiederkehrende Einheiten der Formel (30) oder 7 bis 36 wiederkehrende Einheiten einer der Formeln (22) bis (29) oder (31) bis (35) auf.
- Diese quaternären Ammoniumsalze sind an sich bekannt und z.B. in der deutschen Offenlegungsschrift 2 604 910, der britischen Patentschrift 855 028 in J. Macromol. Sci.-Chem. A4(6), Seiten 1327 bis 1417 (Oktober 1970), in J. Polymer Science Bd IV, Seiten 97 bis 133 (1949) und Bd. XXV, Seiten 201 bis 215 (1957)beschrieben. Insbesondere offenbaren die deutsche Offenlegungschrift 2 609 910, bzw. die britische Patentschrift 855 028 und Seiten 1327 bis 1417 von J. Macromol. Sci.-Chem. A4(6), quaternäre Ammoniumsalze, deren Einheiten mit den Einheiten der Formeln (1), bzw. (2) worin n 1 ist, windestens teilweise übereinstimmen, während Bd. IV, Seiten 97-133 bzw. Bd. XXV, Seiten 101 bis 215 of J. Polymer Science wiederkeh- vande Einheiten von quaternären Ammoniumsalzen offenbaren, die mindestens teilweise mit den Einheiten der Formel (2) worin n 2 ist, bzw. der Formel (3) übereinstimmen.
- Die quaternären Ammoniumsalze, die wiederkehrende Einheiten der Formel (1) aufweisen, werden in der Regel so hergestellt, dass man die ungesättigte Verbindung der Formel
- Die quaternären Ammoniumsalze, die wiederkehrende Einheiten der wahrscheinlichen Formel (2) aufweisen, worin n 1 ist, werden in der Regel so hergestellt, dass man die ungesättigte Verbindung der Formel
- Falls n in Formel (2) 2 ist, wird analog verfahren mit jedoch dem Unterschied, dass als Ausgangsstoff neben der Verbindung der Formel (45) Styrol als Comonomer eingesetzt wird, wobei das molare Mengenverhältnis Styrol:Verbindung der Formel (45) 1:1 bis 1:10 beträgt.
- Die quaternären Ammoniumsalze, die wiederkehrende Einheiten der Formel (3) aufweisen, werden in der Regel so hergestellt, dass man die ungesättigte Verbindung der Formel
- Die Hilfsmittel, da sie quaternierte Verbindungen enthalten, sind im allgemeinen wasserlöslich und werden erfindungsgemäss vorzugsweise als verdünnte, wässrige Lösungen eingesetzt. Sie können aber auch Dispergatoren, wie sie in der Färberei und Druckerei üblicherweise eingesetzt werden, oder organische Lösungsmittel enthalten.
- Zweckmässig setzt man als Hilfsmittel im erfindungsgemässen Verfahren 0,01 bis 5, vorzugsweise 0,05 bis 2 und insbesondere 0,1 bis 1 Prozent der quaternären Ammoniumsalze, die wiederkehrende Einheiten der Formel (1), (2) oder (3) ein, berechnet als reines Ammoniumsalz, bezogen auf das Gewicht des zu färbenden oder zu bedruckenden Fasermaterials.
- Als organische Fasermaterialien, die erfindungsgemäss gefärbt oder bedruckt werden, kommen vor allem textile synthetische und natürliche Fasern, d.h. natürliche oder insbesondere synthetische Fasern für sich allein oder Mischungen aus synthetischen und natürlichen Fasern in Betracht. Auch Mischungen von verschiedenen synthetischen Fasern kommen in Frage. Diese textile Fasermaterialien liegen in den verschiedensten Verarbeitungszuständen, z.B. als Kabel, Kammzüge, Faden, Garne, Wickelkörper, Gewebe, Gewirke, Non-Woven-Arrikel, oder fertige Kleidungsstücke vor.
- Als Textilmaterialien aus natürlichen Fasern kommen u.a. solche aus cellulosischen Materialien, insbesondere aus Baumwolle, ferner aus Wolle und Seide in Betracht, während die Textilmaterialien aus synthetischen Fasern, z.B. solche aus hochmolekularen Polyestern, wie Polyäthylen-terephthalat oder Polycyclohexandimethylenterephthalat, aus Polyamiden, wie Polyhexamethylendiaminadipat, Poly-ε-caprolactam oder Poly-ω-aminoundecansäure, aus Polyolefinen, Polyacrylnitrilen oder Acrylnitrilmischpolymerisaten, ausserdem aus Polyurethanen, Polyvinylchloriden, Polyvinylacetaten, sowei aus Cellulose- 2 1/2-acetat und Cellulosetriacetat sind.
- Vor allem Fasern aus Polyacrylnitril oder aus modifizierten, kationisch färbbaren Polyester oder Polyamid sind besonders geeignet, erfindungsgemäss gefärbt oder bedruckt zu werden, wobei den schnellziehenden Fasern eine besondere Bedeutung zukommt. Modifizierte Polyester- und Polyamidfasern sind z.B. in Teintures et Apprets 144, Seiten 163 bis 167 (1974) beschrieben. Schnellziehende Polyacrylnitrilfasern stehen im Vordergrund des Interesses und sind z.B. in Melliand Textilberichte 12 1968, Seiten 1436 bis 1443, in J.Soc. Dyers and Colourists, May 1971, Seiten 149 bis 155 und Febr. 1978, Seiten 49 bis 52, in Teintex 5 1973, Seiten 281 bis 296, in Chemiefasern/Textilind. Mai 1974, Seiten 391 bis 396 nnd Jan. 1974, Seiten 52 bis 60 beschrieben.
- Unter Polyacrylnitrilfasermaterialien sind hier auch Fasern aus Acrylnitrilmischpolymerisaten, auch Modacrylfasern genannt, zu verstehen, für deren Herstellung ausser Acrylnitril auch noch andere Vinylverbindungen, z.B. Vinylchlorid, Vinylacetat, Vinylidenchlorid, Viaylidencycanid und Acrylsäurealkylester, verwendet worden sind, sofern der Anteil dieser anderen Vinylverbindungen nicht höher als 20 Prozent, bezogen auf das Gewicht der Materialien, beträgt.
- Die färberischen Zubereitungen liegen als wässrige und/oder organische Lösungen oder Dispersionen oder als Druckpasten oder -tinten vor, die neben einem Farbstoff noch weitere Zusätze z.B. Säuren, Salze, Harnstoff und weitere Hilfsmittel wie Oxalkylierungsprodukte von Fettaminen, Fettalkoholen, Alkylphenolen, Fettsäuren und Fettsäureamiden enthalten.
- Insbesondere zum Färben von Polyacrylnitrilfasern gelangen in den färberischen Zubereitungen vor allem kationische Farbstoffe zur Anwendung. Dieser Farbstoffe gehören den verschiedenartigsten Gruppen an. Geeignete Farbstoffe sind z.B. Di- und Triphenylmethanfarbstoffe, Rhodaminfarbstoffe und Oniumgruppen enthaltende Azo-oder Anthrachinonfarbstoffe, ferner Thiazin-, Oxazin-, Methin- und Azomethinfarbstoffe. Die kationischen Farbstoffe sind z.B. in Colour Index, 3. Auflage (1971), Band 1, unter der Rubrik "Basic dyes" beschrieben. Beim Färben oder Bedrucken von cellulosehaltigen Fasermischungen kommen aber auch in einer weiteren Ausführungsart des erfindungsgemässen Verfahrens z.B. Direktfarbstoffe in Betracht. Diese Farbstoffe gehören ebenfalls den verschiedenartigsten Gruppen an und sind z.B. auch in Colour-Index, Band 2, unter der Rubrik "Direct dyes" beschrieben.
- Erfindungsgemäss werden die Fasermaterialien vor, während oder nach dem Färben oder Bedrucken mit dem Hilfsmittel behandelt. Vorzugsweise wird jedoch das Fasermaterial in Gegenwart des Hilfsmittels gefärbt, wobei das Hilfsmittel vor allem als Retardier- und Egalisiermittel für die eingesetzten kationischen Farbstoffe verwendet und das Fasermaterial mit dem Hilfsmittel mit einer Zubereitung behandelt wird, die gleichzeitig den Farbstoff und das Hilfsmittel im sogenannten "All-in Verfahren" enthält. Somit bildet die wässrige Zubereitung als Mittel zur Durchführung des erfindungsgemässen Farbeverfahrens, die einen kationischen Farbstoff und das Hilfsmittel enthält, einen weiteren Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung.
- In einer weiteren Ausführungsart des erfindungsgemassen vantchtens werden die schon gerarbten oder bedruckten Pasermaten mit dem Hilfsmittel nachbehandelt, wobei eine Verbesserung der Nassent heit der färbung oder des Druckes erzielt wird. Somit wird das Hilfsmittel auch als Nassechtheitsverbesserungsmittel verwender. Diese Anwendung ist besonders geeignet für die Nachbehandlung von mit Direkt- Farbstoffen gefärbten oder bedruckten callclosischen Faser materialien.
- In der Ausführungsart des erfindungsgemässen Verfahrens, die im Vordergrund des Interesses steht, wird das Färben der Polyacrylnitril-Textilmaterialien in üblicher Weise, z.B. nach dem Ausziehverfahren, durchgeführt, indem man das Färbegut in eine auf etwa 50 bis 60°C erwärmte wässrige Flotte, welche vor allem im sogenannten "All-in Verfahren" einen kationischen Farbstoff, das Hilfsmittel, Zusätze von Salzen, wie Natriumacetat und Natriumsulfat, sowie Säuren, wie Essigsäure oder Ameisensäure, enthält, einbringt, anschliessend die Temperatur des Färbebades im Verlauf von etwa 30 Minuten auf annähernd 100°C erhöht, und dann das Färbebad so lange bei dieser Temperatur hält, bis es erschöpft ist. Man kann den basischen Farbstoff aber auch erst nachträglich dem Färbebad zusetzen, z.B. dann, wenn die Temperatur des Bades auf etwa 60°C angestiegen ist. Ferner kann man das Färbegut auch bei einer Temperatur von 40 bis 100°C mit einer Flotte, welche die üblichen Salze und Säuren sowie das erfindu gemäss verwendete Hilfsmittel, jedoch noch keinen Farbstoff, entnalt vorbehandeln, dann erst den Farbstoff zusetzen und das Färben bei 100°C durchführen.

- Beim Einsetzen des Hilfsmittels im Verlauf des Färbens, z.B. zwischen den Zugaben verschiedener Farbstoffe, kann eine besonders günstige Nuancierung erzielt werden. Die mit dem erfindungsgemäss verwendeten Hilfsmittel hergestellten Färbungen insbesondere auf Polyacrylnitrilfasern zeichnen sich durch eine sehr guts Egalität ohne wesentliche Einbusse der Farbstoffausbeute auf den Fasern auf. Eine erhöhte Nassechtheit der Färbungen oder Drucke von cellulosehaltigen Fasermischungen mit dem Hilfsmittel ist auch möglich. Schliesslich bildet die Anwesenheit der Hilfsmittel auf mehr als eine Farbstoffklasse und auf entsprechende Faserarten d.h. auf Fasermischungen, sowie die gute Verträglichkeit des Hilfsmittels mit den meisten üblichen nicht-ionogenen, kationischen Textilhilfsmitteln, z.B. auch Textilveredelungsmitteln, weitere Vorteile der vorliegenden Erfindung.
- Teile und Prozente in den nachfolgenden Herstellungsvorschriften und Beispielen sind Gewichtseinheiten.
- Es werden 261 Teile einer Monomerlösung aus 52 Teilen Styrol und 49 Teilen Maleinsäureanhydrid (0,5 Mol) in 160 leilen Aylorgami und 20 Teilen einer Katalysatorlösung aus 1 Teil Azo-bis(isobutter- säurenitril) in 15 Teilen Xylolgemisch und 4 Teilen Dimethylformamid zubereitet. 87 Teile der Monomerlösung werden in inerter Stickstoff atmosphäre auf 70°C geheizt. Bei dieser Temperatur werden den 87 Te- len der Monomerlösung 5 Teile der Katalysatorlösung zugegeben. Bei en setzender Trübung des Reaktionsgemisches werden gleichzeitig im Verlauf einer Stunde die restlichen 174 Teile der Monomerlösung und die rest lichen 15 Teile der Katalysatorlösung getrennt zugegeben. Anschliessend wird die erhaltene Suspension während 2 Stunden bei 70°C und einer weiteren Stunde bei 80°C gehalten.

- 105 Teile (1 Mol) 4-Vinylpyridin, 1 Teil Kaliumpersulfat und 0,52 Teile des Natriumsalzes der Di(n-butyl)-Naphthalinsulfonsäure als Dispergator, das vorgängig in 150 Teilen Wasser gelöst worden ist, werden innerhalb von 30 Minuten auf 50°C geheizt, wobei sich aus dem ursprünglich als homogene Emulsion vorliegenden Reaktionsgemisch allmählich eine feste Polymerisatmasse bildet. Das Reaktionsgemisch wird anschliessend bei 50°C während 4 Stunden stehen gelassen. Die Polymerisatmasse wird hierauf abfiltriert, mit 750 Teilen Wasser gewaschen und unter vermindertem Druck bei 25°C getrocknet. Das getrocknete rohe Polymerisat wird in 1100 Teilen Aethanol gelöst. Die erhaltene Lösung wird innerhalb von 30 Minuten zu 11000 Teilen Wasser gegeben, wobei ein harziges Polymerisat entsteht. Das umgefällte Polymerisat wird abfiltriert und unter vermindertem Druck bei 25°C getrocknet.
- Man erhält 53,5 Teile des getrockneten, umgefällten, gelblichen Homopolymerisates (51% d.Th.), dessen durchschnittliches, durch Lichtstreuung ermitteltes Molekulargewicht 230 000 beträgt.
- Handelsübliches Copolymerisat aus Aethylen und Maleinsäureanhydrid im Molverhältnis 1:1, dessen spezifische Viskosität als 1%ige Lösung in Dimethylformamid bei 25°C 0,1 beträgt, was einem durchschnittlichen Molekulargewicht des Copolymerisates von 1000 entspricht.
- Handelsübliches Homopolymerisat aus 2-Vinyl- und 4-Vinyl-benzylchlorid, wobei das Isomerenverhältnis in 2-:4-Stellung 6:4 beträgt. Der Chlorgehalt des Homopolymerisates beträgt 23,2%. Das Molekulargewicht lässt sich weder durch Viskositätsmessungen noch durch Lichtstreuung mit hinreichender Genauigkeit ermitteln und dürfte zwischen 1000 und 500'000 liegen.
- Handelsübliches Copolymerisat aus Styrol und 4-Vinylpyridin im Molverhältnis Styrol:4-Vinylpyridin 1:5, dessen Stickstoffgehalt 11,02% beträgt. Das Molekulargewicht lässt sich weder durch Viskositätsmessungen noch durch Lichtstreuung mit hinreichender Genauigkeit ermitteln und dürfte zwischen 800 und 350'000 liegen.
- Das Copolymerisat A 1 aus Styrol und Maleinsäureanhydrid, das als Suspension vorliegt, wird mit 295 Teilen Xylolgemisch verdünnt und auf 130°C geheizt. Bei dieser Temperatur werden der Suspension 53 Teile 3-Dimethylamino-l-propylamin (0,517 Mol) innerhalb einer Stunde zugegeben. Das Reaktionsgemisch wird anschliessend zur Rückflusstemperatur von ca. 140°C geheizt, und das durch die Reaktion gebildete Wasser wird azeotrop abdestilliert. Es werden ca. 9 Teile (0,5 Mol) Wasser erhalten. Das nun als klare Lösung vorliegende Reaktionsgemisch wird auf 70°C abgekühlt und durch Destillation des Xylolgemisches unter vermindertem Druck bei dieser Temperatur aufkonzentriert. Man erhält in praktisch quantitativer Ausbeute eine viskose, konzentrierte xylolische Lösung des Umsetzungsproduktes.

- Das Umsetzungsprodukt B 1 wird in 300 Teilen Isopropanol gelöst. Dieser Lösung werden 63 Teile Benzylchlorid (0,5 Mol) zugegeben. Die tionslösung wird zur Rückflusstemperatur von ca. 80°C geheizt und sc lange gehalten, bis eine Probe der Reaktionslösung in Wasser löslich ist und einen pH-Wert von weniger als 7 ausweist, was in der Regel 4 Stunden beansprucht. Aus der Reaktionslösung werden unter Zugabe von Wasser die Lösungsmittel (Isopropanol und Xylolgemisch) durch Destillation unter vermindertem Druck entfernt. Man erhält eine 10 bis 30%ige, zur weiteren Handhabung geeignete wässrige Lösung des quaternierten Copolymerisates, welches durchschnittlich 17 wiederkehrende Einheiten der Formel (12) aufweist.

- 13,26 Teile des Homopolymerisanes A 9, 100 Teile 1-Methoxy-2-ächanal, 50 Teile Dimethylformamid und 15 Teile Benzyldimethylamin, (1,11 Mol/Mol angewandtes Vinylbenzylchlorid) werden auf 80°C geheizt und 24 Stunden bei dieser Temperatur gehalten. Anschliessend wird das Reaktionsgemisch unter vermindertem Druck bei 80°C zur Trockne eingedampft. Man erhält als dunkelbraunes, in Wasset klar lösliches Pulver, 27 Teile eines Quaternierungsproduktes, das 8 bis 3000 wiederkehrende Einheiten der Formeln (36) und (37) aufweist, wobei 60% der Einheiten der Formel (36) und 40% der Einheiten der Formel (37) entsprechen. Aufgrund der Bestimmung des Gehaltes an Stickstoff und an ionogen gebundenes Chlor wird der Quaternierungsgrad berechnet. Er beträgt für das Quaternierungsprodukt C 19 99%.
- Einer Lösung aus 25 Teilen des Copolymerisates A 10 in 300 Teilen Dimethylformamid werden bei 60°C 38 Teile Benzylchlorid (1,50 Mol/Mol angewandtes Vinylpyridin) zugegeben. Das Reaktionsgemisch wird auf 80°C geheizt und während 24 Stunden bei dieser Temperatur gehalten. Während dieser Zeit scheidet sich das Reaktionsprodukt als amorpher Niederschlag allmählich ab. Anschliessend wird das Reaktionsgemisch auf 50°C gekühlt und mit 150 Teilen Methanol versetzt. Das nun homogene Reaktionsgemisch wird unter vermindertem Druck zur Trockene eingedampft. Man erhält als dunkelbraunes, in Wasser klar lösliches Pulver 47,3 Teile eines Quaternierungsproduktes, das 8 bis 3000 wiederkehrende Einheiten der Formel (38) und einen Quaternierungsgrad von 98% aufweist.
- Man verfährt wie beim Quaternierungsprodukt C 20 angegeben, setzt jedoch ein Gemisch aus 100 Teilen Dimethylformamid und 200 Teilen 1-Methoxy-2-äthanol an Stelle von 300 Teilen Dimethylformamid ein. Man erhält als dunkelbraunes, in Wasser klar lösliches Pulver 54,9 Teile eines Quaternierungsproduktes, das 8 bis 3000 wiederkehrende Einheiten der Formel (38) und einen Quaternierungsgrad von 100% aufweist.
- 12,7 Teile des Copolymerisates A 10 werden in 250 Teilen Methylcellosolve bei 60°C gelöst. Diese Lösung wird auf 20°C abgekühlt und bei dieser Temperatur mit 1,3 Teilen Chloressigsäure-n-dodecylester 0,05 Mol/Mol angewandtes Vinylpyridin) versetzt. Anschliessend wird das Reakcionsgemisch auf 80°C geheizt und bei dieser Temperatur während 24 Stunden gehalten. Nach dieser Zeit wird das Reaktionsgemisch wieder auf 20°C abgekühlt und bei dieser Temperatur mit 14,1 Teilen Benzylchlorid (1,11 Mol/Mol angewandtes Vinylpyridin) versetzt. Nach dem Benzylchloridzusatz wird das Reaktionsgemisch erneut auf 80°C geheizt und bei dieser Temperatur während 12 Stunden gehalten. Nach dieser Zeit wird das Reaktionsgemisch unter vermindertem Druck bei 80°C zur Trockene eingedampft. Man erhält als braunes, wasserlösliches Pulver 28 Teile eines Quaternierungsproduktes, das einen Quaternierungsgrad von 86% und 8 bis 3000 Einheiten der Formeln (38) und (39) aufweist, wobei 95% der Einheiten der Formel (38) und 5% der Einheiten der Formel (39) entsprechen.

- Beispiel 1: 5 g eines Polyacrylnitrilgewebes (ORLON 42, registrierte Marke der DUPONT) mit einem Flächengewicht von 138 g/m2 werden in einem Färbeapparat während 10 Minuten bei 98°C nach dem Ausziehverfahren mit 200 ml einer wässrigen Flotte behandelt, deren pH-Wert mit 80%iger Essigsäure auf 4,0 gestellt wurde und die 0,017 g einer 30%igen wässrigen Lösung des Quaternierungsproduktes C 2 (0,1% Reinsubstanz bezogen auf das Gewebegewicht) enthält. Im Färbeapparat wird hierbei das Gewebe in der Flotte ständig bewegt. Anschliessend wird der Flotte bei 98°C eine Farbstoffmischung aus 0,007 g des gelben Farbstoffes der Formel
- Durch Zusatz des Quaternierungsproduktes C2 als Retardiermittel in einer Vorbehandlung vor dem Färben erzielt man einen langsamen, nuancengleichen Farbtonaufbau auf der Faser, sodass das übliche Abkühlen nach dem Vorschrumpfen vor der Farbstoffzugabe nicht mehr notwendig ist. Die erhaltene Graufärbung zeichnet sich durch eine hervorragende Egalität und eine gute Durchfärbung ohne Einbusse der guten Nassechtheit aus,
- Aehnliche Ergebnisse werden erzielt, wenn man an Stelle von 0,1%, bezogen auf das Gewebegewicht, des Quaternierungsproduktes C 2, jeweils 0,1% eines der Quaternierungsprodukte C 1 oder C 3 bis C 18 oder jeweils 0,2% eines der Quaternierungsprodukte C 19 bis C 27 einsetzt.
- Beispiel 2: Ein 1 kg schwerer Muff (Wickelkörper ohne Metallspule) eines vorgeschrumpften, zweifachem Hochbausch-Garnes (Tex 38x2) aus Polyacrylnitril (EUROACRYL, registrierte Marke der ANIC) wird in einem Färbeapparat während 10 Minuten bei 70°C nach dem Ausziehverfahren mit 30 1 einer wässrigen Flotte behandelt, deren pH-Wert mit 80%iger Essigsäure auf 4,0 gestellt wurde, die 6,66 g einer 30%igen wässrigen Lösung des Quaternierungsproduktes C 15 (0,2% Reinsubstanz bezogen auf das Garngewicht) und 2 g des blauen Farbstoffes der Formel (50) enthält. Im Färbeapparat wird hierbei die Flotte durch den Muff ständig umgewälzt. Hierauf wird die Flottentemperatur innerhalb 30 Minuten auf 98°C erhitzt. Der Muff wird bei dieser Temperatur während 60 Minuten gefärbt. Nach dieser Zeit wird die Flottentemperatur langsam auf 60°C abgekühlt und der Muff wird gespült und getrocknet.
- Durch den gleichzeitigen Einsatz des Quaternierungsproduktes C 15 als Retardiermittel zusammen mit dem Farbstoff im sogenannten "All-in Verfahren" wird eine hellblaue Färbung des Garnes erzielt, die sich durch eine hervorragende Egalität, eine gute Durchfärbung und gute Echtheiten auszeichnet.
- Aehnliche Ergebnisse werden mit den Quaternierungsprodukten C 1 bis C 14 und C 16 bis C 27 erzielt.

- Das so bedruckte Gewebe wird getrocknet und während 24 Minuten bei 102°C gedämpft. Nun wird das bedruckte und gedämpfte Gewebe in einem Färbeapparat während 10 Minuten bei 70°C nach dem Ausziehverfahren mit 200 ml einer wässrigen Flotte behandelt, deren pH-Wert mit 80%iger Essigsäure auf 4,0 gestellt wurde, die 0,002 g des blauen Farbstoffes der Formel
- Man erhält auf das Gewebe ausgeprägte Zweiton-Effekte, indem die mit dem Quaternierungsprodukt C 15 bedruckten Stellen hellblau, während die nicht bedruckten Stellen dunkelblau gefärbt sind.
- Aehnliche Ergebnisse werden mit den Quaternierungsprodukten C 1 bis C 14 und C 16 bis C 27 erzielt.
- Beispiel 4: 100 g eines mercerisierten, gebleichten Baumwollgewebes mit einem Flächengewicht von 125 g/m2 werden in einem Färbeapparat in 2 1 einer wässrigen Flotte von 50°C eingebracht, die 3 g des roten Farbstoffes der Formel
- Die erhaltene Rotfärbung des mit dem Quaternierungsprodukt C 17 nachbehandelten Gewebes weist im DIN-Test Nr. 54006 eine hervorragende Wasserstreng-Echtheit (Wasserechtheit unter schwerer Beanspruchung) auf, während die Rotfärbung des Gewebes vor der Nachbehandlung eine ungenügende Wasserstreng-Echtheit aufweist.
- Aehnliche Ergebnisse werden mit den Quaternierungsprodukten C 1 bis C 16 und C 18 bis C 27 erzielt.
Claims (10)
1. Verfahren zum Färben oder Bedrucken von organischem Fasermaterial unter Verwendung eines Färberei- oder Druckereihilfsmittels, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Hilfsmittel als quaternäres Ammoniumsalz
(a) ein Umsetzungsprodukt eines Copolymerisates aus Maleinsäureanhydrid und Aethylen, Propylen oder Styrol, mit einem N,N-disubstituierten 1,2-Aethylendiamin oder 1,3-Propylendiamin, worin die Substituenten je Alkyl mit 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen sind oder zusammen mit dem Stickstoffatom einen 5- oder 6-gliedrigen, gegebenenfalls noch ein Sauerstoffatom enthaltenden Ring bilden.
(b) ein Homopolymerisat aus einem gegebenenfalls mit Methyl oder Aethyl an einem Ringkohlenstoffatom substituierten 4-Vinylpyridin,
(c) ein Copolymerisat aus dem angegebenen Vinylpyridin und Styrol, wobei das Umsetzungsprodukt (a),das Homopolymerisat (b) und das Copolymerisat (c) jeweils mit Alkyl- oder Alkenylhalogeniden mit mindestens 6 Kohlenstoffatomen allein oder jeweils mit mindestens einem Halogenmethylnaphthalin, Halogenmethyldiphenyl, Chloracetamid, Chloracetonitril, einer Halogenessigsäure oder Alkalimetallsalzen oder Alkylestern dieser Säure mit 1 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen im Akylrest oder einem gegebenenfalls mit Halogen, Methyl oder Aethyl substituierten Benzylhalogenid gegebenenfalls in Gemisch untereinander oder mit einem Alkyl- oder Alkenylhalogenid mit höchstens 4 Kohlenstoffatomen quaterniert sind, oder
(d) ein Homopolymerisat eines 2- oder 4-Vinylbenzylchlorids ist, das mit einem tertiären Monoamin mit höchstens 20 Kohlenstoffatomen quaterniert ist, wobei zwei Substituenten des Monoamins je Alkyl mit 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen oder zusammen mit dem Stickstoffatom einen 5- oder 6-gliedrigen, gegebenenfalls noch ein Sauerstoffatom enhaltenden Ring bilden und der dritte Substituent des Monoamins Alkyl, Alkenyl oder gegebenenfalls durch Alkyl oder Alkylen substituiertes Aryl mit insgesamt höchstens 18 Kohlenstoffatomen ist, enthält.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Hilfsmittel
(a) ein Umsetzungsprodukt eines Copolymerisates aus Maleinsäureanhydrid und Aethylen, Propylen oder Styrol, mit einem N,N-disubstituierten 1,2-Aethylendiamin oder 1,3-Propylendiamin, worin die Substituenten je Alkyl mit 1 bis 4 Kohlenstoffatomen sind oder zusammen mit dem Stickstoffatom einen 5- oder.6-gliedrigen, gegebenenfalls noch ein Sauerstoffatom enthaltenden Ring bilden oder
(b) ein Homopolymerisat aus einem gegebenenfalls mit Methyl oder Aethyl an einem Ringkohlenstoffatom substituierten 4-Vinylpyridin, wobei das Umsetzungsprodukt (a) und das Homopolymerisat (b) jeweils mit mindestens einem Halogenmethylnaphthalin, Halogenmethyldiphenyl, Chloracetamid, Chloracetonitril oder einem gegebenenfalls mit Halogen, Methyl oder Aethyl substituierten Benzylhalogenid gegebenenfalls in Gemisch untereinander oder mit einem Alkyl- oder Alkenylhalogenid mit höchstens 4 Kohlenstoffatomen quaterniert sind, enthält.
3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Hilfsmittel ein quaternäres Ammoniumsalz enthält, dessen wieder. kehrende Einheiten einer der Formeln
oder
entsprechen,worin Q1 Alkyl oder Alkenyl mit mindestens 6, vorzugsweise 6 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen oder einen Substituenten einer der Formeln
oder
oder ein Gemisch mindestens eines Substituenten einer der für Q1 angegebenen Formeln mit Alkyl oder Alkenyl mit höchstens 4 Kohlenstoffatomen darstellt, A Aethylen oder n-Propylen, E1 Wasserstoff, Methyl oder Phenyl, M Wasserstoffs ein Alkalimetall oder Alkyl mit 1 - 12 Kohlenstoffatomen, Rl und R2 je Alkyl mit 1-4 Kohlenstoffatomen oder zusammen mit dem Stickstoffatom, mit welchem sie verbunden sind, einen 5- oder 6-gliedrigen, gegebenenfalls noch ein Sauerstoffatom enthaltenden Ring bilden, T1 Alkyl, Alkenyl oder gegebenenfalls durch Alkyl oder Alkylen substituiertes Aryl mit insgesamt höchstens 18 Kohlenstoffatomen, X1⊖ Halogen, Y1 und Y2 je Methyl oder Aethyl, und Z1, Z2 und Z3 je Halogen, Aethyl oder vorzugsweise Methyl und n, p, q, r, s und t je 1 oder 2 bedeuten.
4. Verfahren nach Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Hilfsmittel ein quaternäres Ammoniumsalz enthält, dessen wiederkehrende Einheiten der Formel
entsprechen, worin Q2 einen Substituenten einer der Formeln
oder
oder ein Gemisch mindestens eines Substituenten einer der für Q2 angegebenen Formeln mit Alkyl oder Alkenyl mit höchstens 4 Kohlenstoffatomen darstellt, und A Aethylen oder n-Propylen, E1 Was- serstoff, Methyl oder Phenyl, R3 und R4 je Methyl, Aethyl, n-Propyl oder n-Butyl oder zusammen mit dem Stickstoffatom, mit welchem sie verbunden sind, einen Pyrrolidin-, Piperidin- oder Morpholinrest bilden, X1⊖ Halogen, Y1 und Y2 je Methyl oder Aethyl, Z1, Z2 und Z3 je Halogen, Methyl oder Aethyl und r, s und t je 1 oder 2 bedeuten.
6. Verfahren nach Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass das Hilfsmittel ein quaternäres Ammoniumsalz enthält, dessen wiederkehrende Einheiten der Formel
entsprechen, worin D Aethylen oder Methylen, T2 Alkyl oder gegebenenfalls durch Methyl oder Aethyl substituiertes Aryl mit insgesamt höchstens 18 Kohlenstoffatomen und v 1 oder 2 bedeuten, und R3, R4 und X⊖1 die in Anspruch 4 angegebenen Bedeutungen haben.
7. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man das Fasermaterial mit dem Hilfsmittel vor, während oder nach dem Färben oder Bedrucken behandelt.
8. Verfahren nach Anspruch 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man das Fasermaterial in Gegenwart eines Färbereihilfsmittels der in einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6 angegebenen Zusammensetzung färbt.
9. Verfahren nach Anspruch 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man das Fasermaterial vor dem Färben mit einer wässrigen Druckpaste gegebenenfalls stellenweise bedruckt, die ein Druckereihilfsmittel der in einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6 angegebenen Zusammensetzung enthält.
10. Wässrige Zubereitung zur Durchführung des Verfahrens gemäss Anspruch 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass sie mindestens einen kationischen Farbstoff und ein Hilfsmittel der in einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 9 angegebenen Zusammensetzung enthält.
