Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft neue Tetrahydro-1.3.5-triazin-2.6-dione,
Verfahren zu ihrer Herstellung sov/ie ihre Verwendung als Herbizide.
Es ist bereits bekannt geworden, daß Hexahydro-1.3.5»triazin
2.4.6-trione eine gewisse herbizide Wirkung zeigen (vgl. Deutsche Offenlegungsschrift 1 927 921). Ihre Wirkung befriedigt
jedoch nicht immer.
Es wurde gefunden, daß die neuen Tetrahydro-1.3.5-triazin-2.6-dione
der Formel

in welcher
R1 für gestättigte und ungestättigte aliphatische und cycloaliphatische Kohlenwasserstoff-,
araliphatische Kohlenwasserstoff- oder Aryl-Reste
steht, die jeweils durch Halogen, Nitro, Alkyl, Alkoxy, Alky!mercapto, Aryl, Aryloxy

oder Arylmercapto substituiert sein können, R2 für Wasserstoff, Alkyl, Cycloalkyl, Aralkyl,
Aryl, Hydroxy, Alkoxy, Acyloxy oder den Rest
steht, wobei
^ und R^ einzeln für Wasserstoff, gegebenenfalls
durch Cyano, Hydroxy und/oder Halogen substituiertes Alkyl oder Acyl stehen,
R und R^ gemeinsam für Alkyliden, das durch Aryl,
Halogenaryl, Alkoxyaryl, Nitroaryl und/oder
einen heterocyclischen Rest substituiert sein kann, oder Cycloalkyliden stehen und
für Wasserstoff, Alkyl, Halogenalkyl, Halogen, Alkoxy, Alkylmercapto, Aryloxy oder den Rest steht, wobei
einen heterocyclischen Rest substituiert sein kann, oder Cycloalkyliden stehen und
für Wasserstoff, Alkyl, Halogenalkyl, Halogen, Alkoxy, Alkylmercapto, Aryloxy oder den Rest steht, wobei
r6 und R' einzeln für Wasserstoff, Alkyl, Cycloalkyl,
Aralkyl, Aryl, Hydroxy, Amino oder.Alkoxy stehen, oder
r6 und R- gemeinsam mit dem Stickstoffatom einen
heterocyclischen Rest bilden können, starke herbizide Eigenschaften aufweisen.
Weiterhin wurde gefunden, daß man Tetrahydro-1.3.5-triazin-2.6-dione
der Formel (I) erhält, wenn man

Überraschenderweise zeigen die erfindungsgemäßen Tetrahydro-1.3.5-triazin-2.6-dione
eine erheblich höhere herbizide Wirkung als die aus dem Stand der Technik bekannten Hexahydro-1.3.5-triazin-2.4.6-trione.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Stoffe stellen somit eine Bereicherung der Technik dar.
Verwendet man nach Verfahren (a) N-Phenyl-bis-(chlorcarbonyl)-amin
und Aceton-S-methyl-isothiosemicarbazon-hydrojodid in
Gegenwart von Triäthylamin und spaltet anschließend in schwach saurer Lösung, so kann der Reaktionsablauf durch
folgendes Formelschema wiedergegeben werden:

Die in Verfahren (a) als Ausgangsstoffe verwendeten Bis-(chlorcarbonyl)-amine
sind durch die Formel (II) allgemein definiert. In dieser Formel steht R vorzugsweise für geradkettige
und verzweigte Alkylreste mit 1-12 Kohlenstoffatomen, Cycloalkylreste mit 5-7 Kohlenstoffatomen, Aralkyl
oder Arylreste, die gegebenenfalls durch Halogen oder Alkyl substituiert sein können.
Die erfindungsgemäß verwendbaren Bis-(chlorcarbonyl)-amine sind zum Teil bereits bekannt (vgl. Synthesis 1970t Seite
542 - 543) und können, soweit noch nicht bekannt, in analoger
Weise hergestellt werden. Als Beispiele seien im einzelnen genannt:

Als Säurebinder können alle üblichen Säurebindungsmittel verwendet werden. Hierzu gehören vorzugsweise die Alkalihydroxide,
Alkalicarbonate, Alkoholate und tertiäre Amine. Als besonders geeignet seien im einzelnen genannt: Natriumhydroxid,
Kaliumhydroxid, Natriumcarbonat, Kaliumcarbonat, Kalium-tert. butylat, Pyridin, Triäthylamin, Triäthylendiamin,
Dimethylanilin oder Diisopropyl-äthyl-amin.
Die Reaktionstemperaturen können in einem größeren Bereich variiert werden. Im allgemeinen arbeitet man zwischen etwa
0° und etwa 50 C, vorzugsweise zwischen 20 und 40 C.
Die Umsetzungen erfolgen vorzugsweise bei Normaldruck, können jedoch bei Verwendung flüchtiger Reaktanten auch bei erhöhtem
Druck durchgeführt werden.
Bei der Druchführung des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens (a) setzt man auf 1 Mol Bischlorcarbonylamin (II) 1 Mol der
jeweiligen Verbindung gemäß Formel (III) ein und fügt zur Neutralisierung der entstehenden Säure 2-4 Mol Säurebinder
zu. Die Reaktion verläuft exotherm. Die entstandenen Salze werden durch Absaugen oder Ausschütteln mit Wasser entfernt,
die organische Phase eingedampft und der Rückstand umkristallisiert.
Als Verdünnungsmittel bei Verfahren (b) können beliebige organische Lösungsmittel verwendet werden. Vorzugsweise
sind darunter Alkohole, wie Isopropanol, tert. Butanol, Carbonsäuren, wie Ameisensäure, Eisessig und Äther, wie
Diäthyläther, Dioxan zu verstehen.

Als Katalysatoren kann man beliebige anorganische und organische Säuren zusetzen. Hierzu gehören vorzugsweise Sauerstoff
säuren des Phosphors, Carbonsäuren und Sulfonsäuren oder Mischungen hiervon. Als besonders geeignet seien genannt?
Phosphorsäure, Eisessig, Trichloressigsäure, Benzolsulfonsäure
oder p-Toluolsulfonsäure*
Die Reaktionstemperaturen können in einem größeren Bereich variiert werden. Im allgemeinen arbeitet man zwischen etwa
O0 und etwa 500C, vorzugsweise zwischen 20° und 300C.
Die Umsetzungen erfolgen vorzugsweise bei Normaldruck, können
jedoch bei Verwendung flüchtiger Reaktanten auch bei erhöhtem Druck durchgeführt werden.
Bei der Druchführung des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens (b)
setzt man auf 1 Mol einer Verbindung gemäß Formel (IV) einen Überschuß von 5-10 Mol einer Verbindung gemäß Formel
(V) ein.
Die Menge des zugefügten Katalysators kann von etwa 0,1 Mol«,
bis etwa 1 Mol. variiert werden.
Je nach Natur der Verbindung (V) wird diese gasförmig eingeleitet
in die oder zugetropft zu der vorbereiteten Reaktionslösung. Die Reaktion verläuft mit schwacher Wärmetönung
unter Mercaptänabspaltung. Nach Beendigung der Abspaltung
dampft man die Reaktionsmischung in Vakuum ein und reinigt den Rückstand durch Kristallisation.
Als Verdünnungsmittel bei Verfahren (c) kommen alle inerten
organischen Lösungsmittel in Frage. Hierzu gehören vorzugsweise Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie Benzin, Benzol, Toluol und
Äther, wie Diäthyläther und Dioxan.

Als Säurebinder kommen alle nicht nucleophilen Säurebindungsmittel
in Frage» Hierzu gehören vorzugsweise tertiäre Amine, Als besonders geeignet seien im einzelnen genannt: Triäthylamint
Diisopropyl-äthyl-amin, Triäthylendiamin, Pyridin und
Dimethylanilin.
Die Reaktionstemperaturen können in einem größeren Bereich variiert werden. Im allgemeinen arbeitet man zwischen etwa
-20° und etwa 400C, vorzugsweise zwischen 0° und 300C.
Die Umsetzungen erfolgen vorzugsweise bei Normaldruck! können
jedoch bei Verwendung von flüchtigen Reaktanten auch bei erhöhtem Druck durchgeführt werden.
Bei der Durchführung des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens (c) setzt man auf 1 Mol einer Verbindung gemäß Formel (VI) 1 Mol
Chlorcarbonylisocyaniddichlorid (VII) ein und bindet die entstehende Säure durch 2 Mol eines geeigneten Säurefängers.
Die Reaktion verläuft exotherm.
Man entfernt die entstandenen Salze durch Filtration und setzt die Reaktionslösung mit 1 Mol einer Verbindung der
Formel R-H in Gegenwart von 1 Mol eines Säurebinders oder mit 1 Mol einer Verbindung der Formel R^-M weiter um. Man
entfernt die Salze durch Filtration oder Ausschütteln mit Wasser, dampft die organische Phase im Vakuum ein und kristallisiert
den Rückstand um. Die Zwischenstufe (VIII) kann jedoch auch isoliert werden.
Als Verdünnungsmittel bei Verfahren (d) kommen alle inerten
organischen Lösungsmittel in Frage. Hierzu gehören vorzugsweise Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie Benzin, Benzol, Toluol und
chlorierte Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie Methylenchlorid, Chloroform und Tetrachlorkohlenstoff.

Die Reaktionstemperaturen können in einem größeren Bereich variiert werden. In allgeimeinen arbeitet man zwischen etwa-20°
und etwa 120°C, vorzugsweise zwischen 40° und 800C.
Die Umsetzungen erfolgen vorzugsweise bei Normaldruck, können jedoch bei Verwendung von flüchtigen Reaktanten auch bei erhöhtem
Druck durchgeführt werden.
Bei der Druchführung des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens (d)
setzt man auf 1 Mol einer Verbindung gemäß Formel (IX) 1-10 Mol des anorganischen Säurehalogenides ein, das entweder
gasförmig eingeleitet oder portionsweise zugegeben wird. Die Reaktion verläuft unter Gasentwicklung. Am Ende

Die erfindungsgemäßen Wirkstoffe weisen starke herbizide
Eigenschaften auf und können deshalb zur Bekämpfung von Unkraut verwendet werden. Unter Unkraut im weitesten Sinne
sind alle Pflanzen zu verstehen, die an Orten aufwachsen, wo sie unerwünscht sind. Da die Wirkstoffe das Pflanzenwachstum in unterschiedlicher Weise beeinflussen, können sie als

selektive Herbizide verwendet werden, In höheren Konzentrationen {25 kg/ha) eignen sich die erfindungsgemäßen
Wirkstoffe zur totalen Unkrautbekämpfung.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Stoffe können z.B. bei den folgenden Pflanzen verwendet werden: Dikotyle, wie Senf (Sinapis),
Kresse (Lepidium), Klettenlabkraut (Galium), Vogelmiere (Stellaria), Kamille (Matricaria), Franzosenkraut (GaIinsoga),
Gänsefuß (Chenopodium), Brennessel (Urtica), Kreuzkraut (Senecio), Baumwolle (Gossypium), Rüben (Beta), Möhren
(Daucus), Bohnen (Phaseolus), Kartoffeln (Solanum), Kaffee (Coffea); Monokotyle, wie Lieschgras (Phleum), Rispengras
(Poa), Schwingel (Festuca), Eleusine (Eleusine ), Fennich (Setaria), Raygras (Lolium), Trespe (Bromus), Hühnerhirse
(Echinochloa), Mais (Zea), Reis (Oryza), Hafer (Avena), Gerste (Hordeum), Weizen (Triticum), Hirse (Panicum), Zuckerrohr
(Saccharum).
Besonders gut eignen sich die Wirkstoffe zur selektiven Unkrautbekämpfung in Baumwolle, Mais, Getreide und Möhren»
Die erfindungsgemäßen Wirkstoffe können in die üblichen Formulierungen übergeführt werden, wie Lösungen, Emulsionen,
Suspensionen, Pulver, Pasten und Granulate. Diese werden in bekannter Weise hergestellt, z.B. durch Vermischen der
Wirkstoffe mit Streckmitteln, also flüssigen Lösungsmitteln, unter Druck stehenden verflüssigten Gasen und/oder festen
Trägerstoffen, gegebenenfalls unter Verwendung von oberflächenaktiven Mitteln, also Emulgiermitteln und/oder Dispergiermitteln
und/oder schaumerzeugenden Mitteln. Im Falle der Benutzung von Wasser als Streckmittel können z.B. auch
organische Lösungsmittel als Hilfslösungsmittel verwendet

werden. Als flüssige Lösungsmittel kommen im wesentlichen in Frage: Aromaten, wie Xylol, Toluol, Benzol oder Alkylnaphthaline,
chlorierte Aromaten oder chlorierte aliphatische Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie Chlorbenzole, Chloräthylene oder
Methylenchlorid, aliphatische Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie Cyclohexan oder Paraffine, z.B. Erdölfraktionen, Alkohole, wie
Butanol oder Glycol sowie deren Äther und Eater, Ketone, wie Aceton, Methyläthylketon, Methylisobutylketon oder Cyclohexanon,
stark polare Lösungsmittel, wie Dimethylfornamid und Dimethylsulfoxid, sowie Wasser; mit verflüssigten gasförmigen
Streckmitteln oder Trägerstoffen sind solche Flüssigkeiten gemeint, welche bei normaler Temperatur und unter
Normaldruck gasförmig sind, z.B. Äerosol-Treibgase, wie
Halogenkohlenwasserstoffe, z.B. Freon; als feste Trägerstoffe:
natürliche Gesteinsmehle, wie Kaoline, Tonerden, Talkum, Kreide, Quarz, Attapulgit, Montmorillonit und
Diatomeenerde, und synthetische Gesteinsmehle, wie hochdisperse Kieselsäure, Aluminiumoxid und Silikate; als
Emulgier- und/oder schaumerzeugende Mittel: nichtionogene und^anionische Emulgatoren, wie Polyoxyäthylen-Fettsäureester,
Polyoxyätnylen-Fettalkohol-äther, z.B. Alkylarylpolyglycol-äther,
Alkylsulfonate, Alkylsulfate, Arylsulfonate
sowie Eiweißhydrolyaate; als Dispergiermittel: z.B. Lignin, Sulfitablaugen und Methylcellulose.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Wirkstoffe können in den Formulierungen in Mischung mit anderen bekannten Wirkstoffen vorliegen.
Die Formulierungen enthalten im allgemeinen zwischen 0,1 und 95 Gewichtsprozent Wirkstoff, vorzugsweise zwischen 0,5 und
90 Gewichtsprozent.
Die Wirkstoffe können als solche, in Form ihrer Formulierungen

oder der daraus bereiteten Anwendungaformen, wie gebrauchsfertige.
Lösungen, Emulsionen, Suspensionen, Pulver, Pasten und Granulate angewendet werden. Die Anwendung geschieht in
Üblicherweise, z.B. durch Gießen, Verspritzen, Vernebeln,
Verstreuen, Verstäuben.
Die Anwendung ist sowohl nach dem post-emergence-Verfahren wie nach dem pre-emergence-Verfahren möglich. Die eingesetzte
Wirkstoff menge kann in größeren Bereichen schwanken. Sie hängt im wesentlichen ab von der Art des gewünschten Effekts. Im
allgemeinen liegen die Aufwandmengen zwischen 0,1 und 20 kg Wirkstoff/ha, vorzugsweise zwischen 0,5 und 15 kg/ha.

Beispiel A
Post-emergence-Teet
Zur Herstellung einer zweckmäßigen Wirkstoffzubereitung vermischt man 1 Gewichtsteil Wirkstoff mit der angegebenen Menge
Lösungsmittel, gibt die angegebene Menge Emulgator zu und verdünnt das Konzentrat anschließend mit Wasser auf die gewünschte Konzentration.
Mit der Wirkstoffzubereitung spritzt man Testpflanzen, welche
eine Höhe von 5-15 cm haben so, daß die in der Tabelle angegebenen Wirkstoffmengen pro Flächeneinheit ausgebracht werden.
Je nach Konzentration der Spritzbrühe liegt die Wasseraufwandmenge zwischen 1000 und 2000 l/ha. Nach drei Wochen wird der
Schädigungsgrad der Pflanzen bestimmt und mit den Kennziffern 0-5 bezeichnet, welche die folgende Bedeutung haben:
0 keine Wirkung
1 einzelne leichte Verbrennungsflecken
2 deutliche Blattsohäden
3 einzelne Blätter und Stengelteile z.T. abgestorben
4 Pflanze teilweise vernichtet
5 Pflanze total abgestorben

Zur Herstellung einer zweckmäßigen Wirkstoffzubereitung vermischt
man 1 Gewichtsteil Wirkstoff mit der angegebenen Menge Lösungsmittel, gibt die angegebene Menge Emulgator zu und verdünnt
das Konzentrat mit Wasser auf die gewünschte Konzentration.
Samen der Testpflanzen werden in normalen Boden ausgesät und nach 24 Stunden mit der Wirkstoffzubereitung begossen. Dabei
hält man die Wassermenge puo Flächeneinheit zweckmäßigerweise
konstant. Die Wirkstoffkonzentration in der Zubereitung spielt
keine Rolle, entscheidend ist nur die Aufwandmenge des Wirkstoffes pro Flächeneinheit. Nach drei Wochen wird der Schädigungsgrad
der Testpflanzen bestimmt und mit den Kennziffern 0-5 bezeichnet, welche die folgende Bedeutung haben:
0 keine Wirkung
1 leichte Schäden oder Wachstumsverzögerung
2 deutliche Schäden oder Wachstumshemmung
3 schwere Schäden und nur mangelnde Entwicklung oder nur 50 % aufgelaufen
4 Pflanzen nach der Keimung teilweise vernichtet oder nur 25 ^ aufgelaufen
5 Pflanzen vollständig abgestorben oder nicht aufgelaufen

15.6 g (0,1 Mol) N-Methyl-bis-(chlorcarbonyl)-amin werden in
100 ecm Benzol gelöst und unter Rühren zu 27.3 g (0,1 Mol) Aceton-S-methyl-isothio-semicarbazon-hydrojodid in 100 ecm
Benzol suspendiert zugetropft. Anschließend tropft man langsam 30.3 g (0,3 Mol) Triäthylamin in 50 ecm Benzol zu. Man
rührt noch 1 Stunde nach und saugt den Niederschlag ab. Der Niederschlag wird in 100 ecm Chloroform und 100 ecm Wasser
gegeben und ausgeschüttelt. Die Chloroformphase wird abgetrennt,
über Calciumchlorid getrocknet und zusammen mit dem Benzolfiltrat im Vakuum eingedampft. Der Rückstand wird aus
Isopropanol umkristallisiert. Man erhält 17.3 g (76 %) 1-Methyl-3-isopropylidenamino-4-methylmercapto-tetrahydro-1.3.5-triazin-2.6-dion
als farbloses Pulver, Schmelzpunkt

22.8 g (0,1 Mol) i-Methyl^-isopropylidenamino-^methylmercapto-tetrahydro-1.3.5-triazin-2.6-dion
(nach Beispiel 1 hergestellt) werden in 250 ecm Äthanol gelöst und unter Zusatz
einer Spatelspitze p-Toluolsulfonsäure 5 Stunden auf 5O0C erwärmt,
wobei ein Vakuum von ca. 200 mm Hg angelegt wird. Man dampft im Vakuum ein und kristallisiert den Rückstand aus
Äthanol um. Man erhält 18 g (96 %) i-Methyl^-amino-A-methylmercapto-tetrahydro-1.3.5-triazin-2.6-dion
als farblose Nadeln, Schmelzpunkt 174 - 1750C.

23,2 g (0,1 Mol) N.S-Dimethyl-lsothioharnetoff-hydroJodid
werden in 100 ecm Wasser und 250 ecm Benzol vorgelegt. Unter
kräftigem Rühren tropft man aus 2 Tropftrichtern gleichzeitig
15,6^g (0,1 Mol) N-Methyl-bis(chlorcarbonyl)-amin in 100 ecm
trocknem Benzol und 12 g (0,3 Mol) Natriumhydroxid in 100 ecm Wasser gelöst langsam zu. Die Reaktion verläuft stark exotherm.
Man rührt 1 Stunde nach, saugt gegebenenfalls ausgefallenes Produkt ab, trennt die Benzolphase ab, trocknet sie
über Calciumchlorid und dampft im Vakuum ein. Der Rückstand wird zusammen mit evtl. Nutschgut aus Isopropanol umkristallisiert.
Man erhält 14 g (75 %) 1.3-Dimethyl-4-methyl-mercapto-tetrahydro-1.3.5-triazin-2.6-dion
als farbloses Pulver vom Schmelzpunkt 137 - 139°C.

Wasser und 200 ecm Benzol suspendiert. Unter kräftigem Rühren tropft man gleichzeitig aus 2 Tropftrichern 15.6 g (0.1 Mol)
N-Methyl-bis-(chlorcarbonyl)-amin in 100 ecm trockenem
Benzol und 18 g (0.45 Mol) Natriumhydroxid in 100 ecm Wasser
gelöst langsam zu. Die Reaktion verläuft exotherm. Man rührt 1 Stunde nach, trennt die wässrige Phase ab, säuert sie mit
Eisessig an und dampft im Vakuum ein. Der Rückstand wird mehrfach mit Essigsäure-äthylester ausgekocht. Man engt die
Lösung im Vakuum ein und kühlt ab. Der Niederschlag wird abgesaugt, Man erhält 7,8 g (50 %) l-Methyl-4-äthyl-tetrahydro-1.3.5-triazin-2.6-dion
als farblose Nadeln vom Schmelzpunkt 202 - 2030C.

- Patentansprüche:R für gesättigte und ungesättigte aliphatische und cycloaliphatische Kohlenwasserstoff-, araliphatische Kohlenwasserstoff- oder Aryl-Reste steht, die Jeweils durch Halogen, Nitro, Alkyl, Alkoxy, Alkylmercapto, Aryl, Aryloxy oder Arylmercapto substituiert sein können,R für Wasserstoff, Alkyl, Cycloalkyl, Aralkyl,,Aryl,ό4Hydroxy, Alkoxy, Acyloxy oder den Rest -N c steht,wobei5

- 5) Verwendung von Tetrahydro-1.3.5-triazin-2„6-dione gemäß Anspruch 1 zur Bekämpfung von unerwünschtem Pflanzenwachstum.
- 6) Verfahren zur Herstellung von herbiziden Mitteln, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man Tetrahydro-1.3.5-triazin-2.6-dione gemäß Anspruch 1 mit Streckmitteln und/oder oberflächenaktiven Mitteln vermischt.Le A 14 692 , . 55 _409820/1119
