Description
Katalysator»sowie dessen Anwendung bei der Polymerisation von ungesättigten Kohlenwasserstoffen.
Die vorliegende Erfindung bezieht sich auf neue Katalysator-Konjpositionen,
die bei der Polymerisation von ungesättigten Kohlenwasserstoffen vorteilhafterweise anwendbar sind.
KatalytischeSysteme, die sich aus Nickelverbindungen wie
Komplexen des nullwertigen Nickels oder 'Tf -Allyl-Komplexen
des Nickels, die durch Aluminiumverbindungen wie Aluminiumhalogenide
und insbesondere Al 01- aktiviert sind, bestehen,
sind dem Stand der Technik bekannt.
Demgegenüber schafft vorliegende Erfindung eine verbesserte katalytische Komposition, die durch Vermischung von (b)
einer organometallischen Verbindung des Nickels und von (a)
einer Fluor enthaltenden Verbindung eines Elements der Gruppen VA, VB und VIB des periodischen Systems der Elemente entsteht,
wobei dieses letztgenannte Element insbesondere ein Glied der Gruppe Phosphor, Arsen, Antimon» Vanadium, Niob, Tantal, Molybdän und Wolfram ist; die bevorzugten fluorhaltIgen Verbindungen

sind die einfachen Fluoride PF5, As F5, Sb F5, V F1-, Nb F^,
Ta F5, Mo F6 und W Fg. '
Die Nickelverbindung, die eine Komponente des erfindungsgemäßen
Katalysators ist, besteht vorzugsweise aus einem Glied der folgenden Gruppen:
1. Komplexe des einwertigen Nickels, wie beispielsweise die substituierten Derivate des Niekelcarbonyls der allgemeinen
Formel Ni(Co)x L4_x, in der L eine Coordinationsgruppe ist,
die ein Heteroatom wie ein Phosphoratom, Arsenatom, Antimon-, atom oder Schwefelatom enthält; χ bedeutet eine ganze Zahl
von O bis 3 entsprechend den Komplexen zwischen dem Nickel und den ungesättigten organischen Verbindungen wie beispielsweise
den mono- und polyäthylenischen Kohlenwasserstoffen.
2. Verbindungen, die eine oder zwei Nickel-Kohlenstoff-Bindungen aufweisen und beispielsweise einer der folgenden Formel

Die erfindungsgemäßen katalytischen Kompositionen sind insbesondere
bei der Polymerisation von ungesättigten Kohlenwasserstoffen vorteilhafterweise einsetzbar.
Vorzugsweise werden sie bei der Dimerisation und Codimerisation von Monoolefinen wie Äthylen, Propylen, den n-Butenen, Pentenen
und Hexenen in flüssiger Phase verwendet. Die erfindungsgemäßen neuen Katalysatoren zeigen bei diesen Reaktionen eine überraschende
und nicht vorhersehbare Aktivität. Im Fall der Codimerisation des Äthylens bilden sich hauptsächlich Gemische
der n-Butene.

Durch Dimerisation von Propylen erhält man hauptsächlich die n-Hexene, die Methyl-Pentene und die Dimethylbutene*
Durch Codimerisation der n-Butene und des Propylene erhält
man Isohexene, Isoheptene und Isooctene®
Die fluorhaltigen Verbindunge, die verbesserte Resultate
ergeben, sind in der Reihenfolge abenehmender Aktivitätζ
Die Fluoride des Niobs, des Antimons, des Tantals, des Wolframs, des Arsens und des Molybdäns.
Pur den Einsatz zur Dimerisation und Co-Dimerisation können
die beiden Inhaltsstoffe der katalytischen Komposition in einem Holverhältnis von O„1/1 bis 10/1 beispielsweise zugegen
sein.
Diese beiden Komponenten werden vorzugsweise im Reaktionsgemisch, in dem sie zum Einsatz gelangen gemischt und zwar
jede Komponente bevorzugtermaßen mit einer Konzentration von 0,1 bis 200 Millimol pro Liter an flüssiger Phase»
Die Dimerisationsreaktion oder die Co-Dimerisationsreaktion kann man sowohl unter Anwesenheit als auch unter Ausschluß
eines Lösungsmittels durchführen» Wenn man ein Lösungsmittel verwendet, so wählt man vorzugsweise einen aliphatischen
Kohlenwasserstoff einen oycloaliphatischen Kohlenwasserstoff oder einen aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoff,, wie beispielsweise
Hexan, Heptan, Benzol oder Toluol sowie deren halogenierte Derivate also beispielsweise Chlorbenzol oder Methylenchlorid.
Die Reaktion wird im allgemeinen bei einer Temperatur zwischen -50 und +1000G und vorteilhafterweise zwischen -20 und
+500G sowie bei einem solchen Druck durchgeführt, der ausreicht,
um die flüssige Phase aufrecht zu erhalten.

Die erfindungsgetnäßen katalytischen Kompositionen erlauben
ferner die Katalysierung der Go-Dimerisation eines conjur
gierten Diolefins mit einem Monoolefin, beispielsweise die Co-Dimerisation von Butadien-1,3 mit einem Monoolefin, beispielsweise
mit Äthylen, Propylen, dem n-Butenen, den Pentenen und den Hexenen. - .
Bei diesen Reaktionen sind die Verfahrensbedingungen die gleichen wie bei der Dimerisation und Go-Dimerisation der
Monoolefine. .
Die folgenden Beispiele die in keiner Weise begrenzend wirken

Man arbeitet in einem Grignard-Reaktor, der von Luft und
Feuchtigkeit befreit ist.
Die chemische Natur der Komponenten (a) und (b) sowie die eingesetzte Menge dieser Komponenten, ferner die Verfahrensbedingungen, die Verfahrensdauer und die Mengen an erhaltenen

Codimerisation von Buten mit Propylen.
In einen- 250 ml-Grignard-Reaktor aus nichtrostendem Stahl
werden folgende Stoffe eingegeben:
100 ml Buten-2 (Gemisch der eis und trans-Isomeren),die zuvor ':"
auf einem Molekularsieb getrocknet wurden, 0,8 mM an Fb SV ( und 0,28 mM an Ui (CO),, fp (Phenyl)Γ] .

Die Temperatur wird auf 300G gehalten; man arbeitet bei
einem solchen Propylen-Druck, daß das Molverhältnis Propylen/Buten in der flüssigen Phase etwa bei 0,05 liegt.
Am Ende einer 5stündigen Reaktion erhielt man 25 g eines Gemische von kondensierten Olefinen, deren Kohlenstoffanzahl
über 5 liegt, wobei sich dieses Gemisch aus folgenden Bestandteilen
zusammensetzt:
20 i> Isohexene, 38 fi Isoheptene, 10 $>
Isooctene, 32 $> höhere Olefine.

Godimerisation von Butadien und Äthylen.
Man arbeitet in einem Grignard-Reaktor aus rostfreiem Stahl,
den man von Luft und Feuchtigkeit befreit hat, bei einer Temperatur von 200C in 100 ml Chlorbenzol.

Beim Beispiel 22 ist festzustellen, daß in dem Gemisch
der erhaltenen Dimeren geringe Mengen an Methylpentadien-1,3,
Hexadien-1,5 und Methyl-3-pentadien-1,3 zugegen sind.
Unter den gleichen Verfahrenstedingungen wie in Beispiel 22
verwendet man als Komponenten (a) und (b) der katalytischen
Komposition die folgenden Paare:

Claims (14)
1.) Katalysator, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß er aus einem Gemisch von (a) einer Fluor enthaltenden Verbindung
eines Elements der Gruppen VA, VB und VIB des periodischen Systems der Elemente und (b) einer
organometallischen Verbindung des Nickels unter Einhaltung eines Molverhältnisses von 0,1 bis 10, besteht.
2.) Katalysator, nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Fluor enthaltende Verbindung (a) aus den
Fluoriden des Phosphors, des Arsens und des Antimons besteht.
3.) Katalysator, nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Fluor enthaltende Verbindung (a) aus den
Fluoriden des Vanadiums, des Niobs, des Tantals, des Molybdäns und des Wolframs besteht.
4.) Katalysator, nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die organometallische Nickelverbindung (b) aus
einem Komplex des nullwertigen Nickels, nämlich aus einer Verbindung der allgemeinen Formel Ni(CO) (L).
besteht, in der L eine Goordinationsgruppe,die ein Heteroatom aufweist, besteht, das ein Glied der Gruppe
Phosphor, Arsen, Antimon und Schwefel ist,sowie ferner χ eine ganze Zahl von O bis 3 bedeutet und die Komplexe
zwischen dem Nickel und ungesättigten Kohlenwasserstoffen gebildet sind.

5.) Katalysator,nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die organometallische Verbindung des Nickels (b)
den Formeln

entspricht, in denen L ein Phosphin, X ein Halogen- {
atom sowie R und R1 Phenylreste, die in ortho-Stellung
substituiert sind, bedeuten.
6.) Katalysator, nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß' die organometallische Verbindung des Nickels (b)
aus einem Komplex besteht, der ein Glied der Gruppe der Tf -Allyl-Komplexe des Nickels und der Cyclopentadienyl-Nickel-Komplexe
besteht.
7.) Anwendung des Katalysators der Ansprüche 1 bis 6,
bei einem Dimerisationsverfahren, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man zumindest einen monoolefinischen »
Kohlenwasserstoff mit dem Katalysator der Ansprüche 1 bis. 6 bei einer Temperatur von -50 bis 1000C
in flüssiger Phase in Berührung bringt.
8.) Anwendung nach Anspruch 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß man 0,1 bis 200 Millimol jeder Komponente des
Katalysators pro Liter der flüssigen Phase einsetzt.
9.) Anwendung nach Anspruch 7f dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß man die Dimerisationsreaktion bei einer Temperatur von -20 bis +500C durchführt,

10.) Anwendung nach Anspruch 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß man einen monoolefinisehen Kohlenwasserstoff der Gruppe Äthylen, Propylen, Butene, Pentene und
Hexene dimerisiert»
11.) Anwendung nach Anspruch 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß man zwei monoolefinische Kohlenwasserstoffe der Gruppe Äthylen, Propylen, Butene, Pentene und
Hexene der Dimerisation unterwirft»
12.) Anwendung nach Anspruch 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß man zugleich einen monoolefinischen Kohlenwasserstoff und einen konjugierten' dlolefinischen
Kohlenwasserstoff dimerisiert.
13·) Anwendung nach Anspruch 12, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß der monoolefinische Kohlenwasserstoff aus einem Glied der Gruppe Äthylen, Propylen, Butene,
Pentene und Hexene und der konjugierte diolefinisehe
Kohlenwasserstoff aus Butadien-1,3^besteht.
14.) Anwendung nach den Ansprüchen 7 bis 11» dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß die Fluor enthaltende Verbindung (a), die in- dem Katalysator but'· Anwendung
gelangt, ein Glied der Gruppe der Fluoride des Niobs, des Antimons, des Tantals, des Wolframs,
des Arsens und es Molybdäns„ist.
