Abstract

A catalyst comp. comprises a mixture of a fluoro-cpd. of a gp. VA, VB or VIB metal e.g. P, As, Sb, V and Mo, and an organo-nickel compound e.g. of formula (L)2 Ni (X) R (where L = phosphine, x = halogen, and R= an o-substituted phenyl). The mol. ratio of the fluoro to the nickel cpd. is 0.1:10. The catalyst comps. are useful for the polymerisation of unsatd. hydrocarbons.
