Abstract
1.- Un método, que comprende los pasos de:formar un artículo de vidrio de vidrio fundido, teniendo el vidrio una temperatura de punto de recocido;sumergir el artículo de vidrio formado en un baño de sal fundida, comprendiendo el baño de sal ion es de potasio en donde la temperatura superficial del artículo de vidrio es por lo menos la temperatura de punto de recocido del vidrio durante el paso de inmersión; y mantener el artículo de vidrio a una temperatura entre la temperatura del punto de deformación del vidrio y entre alrededor de 150°C por debajo de la temperatura del punto de deformación durante por lo menos alrededor de cinco minutos, en donde el vidrio permanece a una temperatura mayor que la temperatura del punto de recocido.10.- Un aparato, que comprende:un área de operaciones;medios de traslado de artículos de vidrio para trasladar un artículo de vidrio después de la formación del artículo de vidrio y antes de enfriar el artículo de vidrio a una temperatura por debajo de la temperatura de punto de recocido del artículo de vidrio;un baño de sal, baño de sal que comprende sal fundida, configurándose los medios de traslado del artículo de vidrio para mover el artículo de vidrio desde el área de operaciones y sumergir el artículo de vidrio en el baño de sal, configurándose los medios de traslado del artículo de vidrio para sumergir artículos de vidrio con temperaturas superficiales de por lo menos la temperatura de punto de recocido del vidrio, configurándose el artículo de vidrio para permanecer en el baño de sal durante menos de alrededor de un minuto; y un túnel de endurecimiento, configurándose el túnel de endurecimiento para mantener el artículo de vidrio a una temperatura entre la temperatura del punto de deformación del vidrio y entre alrededor de 150°C por debajo de la temperatura del punto de deformación durante por lo menos alrededor de cinco minutos.
