背景技术

发明内容
本发明的一个目的是,提供一种能够使能具有统一的硬件和电源要求、兼容于工业标准照明控制协议的通用积木式光源的电子装置。
本发明的另一个目的是,提供一种能够使能自调整、高亮度照明模块的电子装置,照明模块可以被封装用于不同的应用或市场,例如,用于建筑物照明,用于零售广告,或者用于传统的剧场照明。
本发明的又一个目的是,提供一种能提供标准视频、并且为通用的照明模块提供标准数字照明技术的电子装置。
为此目的,本发明在第一方面涉及一种用于由照明模块的阵列构成的照明或显示模块系统的智能照明模块,向每一个所述照明模块提供一块显示板,其上具有各像素照明元件的阵列,还提供一块控制板,它能控制来自视频源的串行输入数据用于显示视频,也能控制来自照明控制台的数字通信输入数据以便生成数字照明效果,其中,所述显示板包括驱动缓存器和被连接到各照明元件的脉宽调制(PWM)驱动器的阵列,并且其中,所述控制板包括:
-串行数据输入;
-通信数据输入;
-存储器,最好是只读存储器,其中含有数据,诸如硬件配置数据、可执行代码,以及含有智能照明模块的安装参数的安装控制器,上述参数例如在照明或显示系统中模块的位置和方向以及所述模块的视角;
-存储器,最好是一个随机存取存储器,其中含有运行时间期间的周围环境数据和显示数据;
-现场可编程门阵列(FPGA,field programmable gate array)。
根据本发明的这样一种智能照明模块允许建立一个大规模的照明或显示系统,能够产生视频和数字控制照明二者。
根据一个优选的实施例,所述可编程门阵列(FPGA)含有:
-转换器,用于对到来的串行数据进行“非串行化”,以便产生照明数据和照明地址形式的并行像素数据;
-写入查找表和读取查找表,它们提供交叉参考索引,用于将照明数据映射到显示板的正确照明元件;
-显示缓存器;
-中央处理单元(CPU,central processing unit),通过使用写入查找表,并由此将原始的照明地址次序转换为顺序的像素地址次序,按照顺序的像素地址次序,将照明数据写入到存储器中,以便点亮照明元件,通过使用由读取查找表修改的地址,并由此将存储的照明数据从顺序的像素地址次序转换为显示驱动次序,从随机存取存储器中读取照明数据,并且经由显示缓存器将所述照明数据锁存到显示板的驱动缓存器上,以便激活所述显示板的脉宽调制驱动器,按照显示速率产生图像。
最好是,向所述智能照明模块提供电源调节,使得具有上述特征的照明模块构成一个通用的积木式光源,具有统一的硬件和电源要求,并且能够形成一个无缝显示器。
本发明的第二方面涉及智能照明模块的操作方法,包括下列各步骤:
-初始化现场可编程门阵列,由此在上电配置中,从存储器中的配置数据扇区取出数据,然后,所述现场可编程门阵列自动地实例化它的转换器、控制逻辑、分离—脉宽调制(PWM,pulse widthmodulation)逻辑、中央处理单元和传感器逻辑,其后,中央处理单元从含有可执行代码的存储器中的引导块扇区引导,并开始运行;
-接收查找表,其中,智能照明模块接收显示配置数据或者从存储器读取这些数据,这些数据将构成被存储在控制板中的写入查找表和读取查找表的内容;

具体实施方式
本发明涉及一种电子装置,尤其是涉及一个能够使能具有统一的硬件和电源要求并能被形成为无缝显示器的积木式光源的智能照明模块。特别是,本发明涉及一种用于照明模块的自调整高亮度电子装置,照明模块可以被封装用于不同的应用或市场,并且可以在单个模块中显示标准视频或者提供标准数字照明技术。
图1表示根据本发明的智能照明模块100的功能方框图。智能照明模块100包括电源输入110、串行数据输入112、通信数据输入(comm data)114、控制板120和显示板130。控制板120还包括电源调节122、存储器124、现场可编程门阵列(FPGA)126和显示缓存器128。显示板130还包括驱动缓存器132、脉宽调制(PWM)驱动器阵列134、照明元件阵列136和传感器138。
电源输入110是一个用于智能照明模块100的标准、未稳压或稳压电源,在本实施例中为+48伏直流。然而,电源110的其它实施方式也是可能的,并且包括交流。例如110伏AC或220伏AC。串行数据112含有显示图像数据,例如,像素位置地址、像素颜色的红、绿、蓝(RGB)分量的数值;然而,多种其它颜色定义和标准也可能用于串行数据112。正如本领域的技术人员熟知的那样,可以根据显示刷新率来更新串行数据112。串行数据112还可以含有某些命令,例如某些Barco命令,在以同一申请人姓名提交的题为“System forand method of providing a common protocol for lighting and videodevices”的另一份临时申请中,对此进行了说明。通信数据输入(commdata)114是一组数字串行输入,例如,DMX 512协议数据,正如本领域的技术人员熟知的那样,它控制数字照明效果,诸如开关、调光和变淡。其它通信协议也是可能的,包括定制照明协议,有关定制照明协议方面的信息请参阅同一申请人的题为“System for and methodof providing a common protocol for lighting and Video devices”的另一份临时申请。
控制板120为智能照明模块100提供所有的电源调节、处理能力、数字存储器和电子缓冲功能。调节122提供所需的所有电源转换和调节功能,以便产生用于智能照明模块100的所有电子器件的内部电源。控制板120内的存储器124包括标准电子部件,诸如“可编程只读存储器”(PROM,programmable read only memory)和“随机存取存储器”(RAM,random access memory)。存储器124的内容包括诸如硬件配置代码、可执行代码、查找表、显示数据、周围环境数据以及安装控制器等的数据。安装控制器含有影响智能照明模块100的运行的用于智能照明模块100的独特安装参数的数据,诸如大规模显示屏中模块的高度、模块的方向以及模块的视角。FPGA 126是一个标准的电子部件,它提供智能照明模块100的正确运行所需的所有数字处理能力。用于FPGA 126的一种适当器件是,例如,由Altera公司生产的Cyclone 1C3,或者由Xilinx公司生产的XC 3550。显示缓存器128包括一般的电子部件,诸如三态锁存器、三态线驱动器,以及电子滤波部件,诸如电容器(未示出)。
显示板130提供其工作所需的显示照明和支持功能。驱动缓存器132从控制板120输入并行数据,并且解码和锁存照明数据。脉宽调制驱动器134包括点亮照明元件136所需的标准显示驱动器,并且是,例如,通用于发光器件(LED)显示器共用的恒流驱动器,或者是用于液晶显示器(LCD)的恒压驱动器。照明元件136含有构成所述显示器的各像素元件(未示出)的阵列,例如,无机或有机发光二极管(LED或OLED)的阵列或液晶显示器(LCD)。传感器138监测周围照明条件,以便由控制板120进行显示亮度处理。
在工作中,智能照明模块100接收串行数据112上的像素图像数据和控制数据、通信数据114上的显示控制数据以及电源110上的显示器电源。电源110和通信数据114可以来源于,例如,一个控制器(未示出)。关于这个实例还要说明的是,串行数据112可以来源于这个控制器或者来源于另一个智能照明模块100。FPGA 126输入串行数据112,然后对它进行“非串行化”,以便产生并行像素数据。可能不按照顺序像素地址的次序来发送串行数据112;因此,FPGA 126对并行像素数据进行重新排序,并且按照顺序像素地址的次序把它存储在存储器124中。还有,存储器124中顺序地址位置的次序可能不按照对应于照明元件136的顺序像素位置的次序。因此,为了显示一幅图像,FPGA 126必须从查找表中确定显示驱动次序,该查找表是在起动时由FPGA中的微处理器上载的。然后,FPGA将对应于连续像素位置的并行像素数据锁存于驱动缓存器132中。然后,脉宽调制驱动器134照亮照明元件136的相应像素,以便按照显示更新率来产生单个图像。
图2表示根据本发明的控制板120的功能方框图。在说明控制板120的过程中,自始至终都参照图1。
控制板120中的存储器124还包括一个可编程只读存储器(PROM)210和一个随机存取存储器(RAM)212。控制板120中的FPGA 126还包括转换器214,控制逻辑216,分离—PWM逻辑218,写入查找表220,读取查找表222,中央处理单元(CPU)224以及传感器逻辑226。
PROM 210包括数据,诸如用于控制板120的硬件配置数据,用于CPU 224和安装控制器的可执行代码。安装控制器含有影响智能照明模块100的工作的智能照明模块100的独特的安装参数数据,诸如在大规模显示屏中模块的高度、模块的方向以及模块的视角。RAM212含有查找表,以及运行时间期间的周围环境数据和显示数据。周围环境数据,包括周围环境温度、照度和湿度,经由通信数据114从外部的周围环境控制器(未示出)得到。转换器214含有一个用于串行数据112的输入数据的串并转换器。控制逻辑216含有必要的控制功能;例如,定时、驱动、胶合逻辑(glue logic)、顺序和组合逻辑,用以协调FPGA 126的工作。分离—PWM逻辑218在不稀疏显示器的16位分辨率的前提下,使16位照明数据写入到12位的脉宽调制驱动器134。写入查找表220和读取查找表222提供交叉参照索引,将照明数据映射到显示板130的正确照明元件136。CPU 224例如是一个32位微处理器核心,诸如80C51,它在上电时在FPGA上已被实例化。传感器逻辑226处理来源于显示板130的传感器数据。
在操作中,转换器214对串行数据112的输入数据进行“非串行化”,并且向CPU 224提供并行的16位照明数据和7位照明地址。CPU224根据PROM 210中的安装控制器和RAM 212中的周围环境数据,修改像素图像数据。然后,CPU224通过使用写入查找表220,按照顺序像素地址的次序将照明数据写到RAM212中,并由此将原始照明地址次序转换为顺序像素地址次序。为了点亮照明元件136,CPU 224通过使用由读取查找表222修改的地址从RAM 212读取照明数据,并由此将存储的照明数据从顺序像素地址次序转换为显示驱动次序。然后,CPU 224将照明数据写入到分离—PWM逻辑218。分离—PWM逻辑218通过在等效于显示更新速率的16倍的显示器写循环速率照明数据的12个最高有效位(MSB),将16位照明数据写入到,例如,一个12位的脉宽调制驱动器134。一个单独的位被添加到这16个显示器写循环中的每一个,添加的次数等于照明数据的4个最低有效位(LSB)的值。因此,例如,如果照明数据的4个最低有效位的值表示一个数字数值8,则16个写循环中的8个将被增加单个位。显示缓存器128接收所得到的12位照明数据中的每一个,其后,12位照明数据被锁存到驱动缓存器132。脉宽调制驱动器134接收来自驱动缓存器132的已锁存数据,并且激活,例如脉宽调制驱动器134内的内部恒流驱动器(CCD,constant current drivers)(未示出)。其它实施例可以利用脉宽调制驱动器134内的恒压驱动器,以便激活液晶显示器。在本实施例中,CCD被激活整个显示写循环的一段时间,这段时间与12位照明数据的数字值成比例。因此,例如,如果12位照明数据表示一个2,048的数字值(12位的满度数值为4,096),则所述CCD将在写循环的一半时间内被激活,并且对应的彩色像素将被点亮到其最大定标亮度的一半。脉宽调制驱动器134的每一个CCD由此点亮照明元件136的每一个像素的单个彩色分量,例如红、绿或蓝。传感器逻辑226单独地接收来自显示板130上的远程传感器的信号,以便由CPU 224进行处理。
显而易见,照明数据不一定必须是16位数据,在更一般的意义上来说,它可能是具有X位配置的数据,而脉宽调制不一定必须是12位驱动器,而可能是具有Y位结构的驱动器,其中,Y是一个小于X的数。本领域的技术人员可以容易地把上面给出的照明模块的操作说明外推到具有一般化数目的位X和Y的应用场合。
图3A和3B分别表示智能照明模块组件300的前和后透视图。智能照明模块组件300适于用作独立显示器,或者,可替代地,可以在一组智能照明模块组件300内进行工作,以构成一个较大的显示器(未示出)。智能照明模块组件300是,例如,发射照明元件310的8×11平面矩阵组件。由多个智能照明模块组件300构成一个大规模显示器(未示出),以生成一个覆盖整幅墙的显示器。
图4表示根据本发明的智能照明模块组件300的分解后视图。智能照明模块组件300包括前光学部件410、显示板组件414,它包括用于附着前光学部件410的机械接口,控制板组件416、底座418、散热器424、冷却风扇420、固定接口428、风扇罩422和螺钉412。电缆连接器426是电缆的一部分(在图4中未示出),并且被连接到控制板组件416上的连接器。

图5是根据本发明的智能照明模块组件300的操作方法500的流程图。方法500包括控制板120的初始化和自动配置。方法500的各步骤自始至终都参照图1至图4。方法500包括下列各步骤:
步骤510:初始化FPGA
在这个步骤中,控制板120内的FPGA 126被初始化并准备用于正常工作。在上电时,FPGA 126从存储器124内的PROM 210的一个配置数据扇区中取出配置数据。然后,FPGA自动地实例化转换器214、控制逻辑216、分离—PWM逻辑218、CPU 224和传感器逻辑226,其后,CPU 224从PROM 210的引导块扇区引导并开始工作。方法500进入步骤512。

步骤518:点亮显示器
在这个步骤中,照明元件136被点亮。CPU 224通过使用由读取查找表222修改的地址,从RAM 212中读取照明数据,并将照明数据写入分离—PWM逻辑218。分离—PWM逻辑218改变所述数据,并向显示缓存器128提供12位的照明数据。在CPU 224的控制下,这些数据被锁存到驱动缓存器132。脉宽调制驱动器134接收来自驱动缓存器132的锁存数据,并且激活脉宽调制驱动器134。已激活的脉宽调制驱动器134由此点亮照明元件136的每一个像素。方法500返回到步骤514。

Claims (11)

1.一种用于由照明模块的阵列构成的照明或显示模块系统的智能照明模块,向每一个所述照明模块提供显示板和控制板,显示板上具有单个像素照明元件的阵列,控制板能控制来自视频源的串行输入数据以显示视频,也能控制来自照明控制台的数字通信输入数据以生成数字照明效果,其中,所述显示板包括驱动缓存器和连接到照明元件的脉宽调制(PWM)驱动器的阵列,并且其中,所述控制板包括:
-串行数据输入;
-通信数据输入;
-存储器,最好是只读存储器,含有诸如硬件配置数据、可执行代码的数据,以及安装控制器,安装控制器含有智能照明模块的安装参数,诸如所述模块在照明或显示系统中的位置和朝向以及所述模块的视角;
-存储器,最好是随机存取存储器,其中含有运行时间期间的周围环境数据和显示数据;
-现场可编程门阵列(FPGA)。
2.根据权利要求1所述的智能照明模块,其中,所述现场可编程门阵列(FPGA)含有:

3.根据权利要求2所述的智能照明模块,其中,照明数据是具有X位的X位数据,并且脉宽调制驱动器是要求Y位数据的数据输入的Y位驱动器,并且其中,通过包含在可编程门阵列(FPGA)中的分离-PWM逻辑,将照明数据锁存到驱动缓存器上,分离-PWM逻辑在不损失照明数据的高位分辨率的前提下,使高位照明数据写入到显示板的低位脉宽调制驱动器中。
