技术领域
本发明涉及纤铁矿型钛酸锂钾及其制备方法,还涉及一种摩擦材料。
技术背景
此前用于形成制动部件的摩擦材料采用的是石棉,其形式为石棉分散于有机或无机粘合剂中并由这些粘合剂所结合。然而,这种材料不具备充分的耐热性和磨擦性能,如摩擦系数和耐磨损性,这些性能在高温区会下降,在实施制动时会导致其衰损现象常常发生。在实施制动时,摩擦材料与高速制动片的接触引起“制动噪音”的频繁发生。石棉是一种已知的致癌物质,容易形成粉尘。操作人员在操作期间会吸入石棉,鉴于这样的环境卫生问题,石棉的使用已日益受到限制。这些情况下,迫切需要研制石棉的代用品。
针对这样的需求,已经提出使用非致癌的钛酸钾纤维摩擦材料作为摩擦控制剂,并已经主要广泛用于汽车的制动垫。含钛酸钾纤维的摩擦材料具有优良的滑动性能和良好的制动效果。不过,它们对制动片又几乎没有损害作用,这是一个非常有利的优点。然而,这种材料的耐磨性不够,尤其在高温区,其磨损速度较快。它们也不能对制动装置发出的“制动噪音”提供有效的解决办法。而且,由于是纤维形式,钛酸钾纤维体积庞大,流动性差,在制造摩擦材料时易出现沉积在进料通道的壁上和堵塞通道的倾向,而成为问题。
日本专利No.3027577描述了使用纤铁矿型钛酸锂钾作为摩擦控制剂的摩擦材料。这样的摩擦材料在低温至高温区具有稳定的耐磨性能。
发明内容
本发明目的是提供新颖的纤铁矿型钛酸锂钾,这种材料用作摩擦控制剂,本发明还提供制造这种材料的方法以及含这种材料的摩擦材料。
本发明的纤铁矿型钛酸锂钾(除非特别指出,下面缩写为KTLO)可以通式K0.5-0.7Li0.27Ti1.73O3.85-3.95表示。
本发明的KTLO的长直径和短直径的算术平均值在0.1-100微米范围,长直径与短直径之比为1至小于10,厚度在50-5000nm范围,呈片状。
本发明的KTLO具有层状结构,具有不受温度影响的耐热性和耐磨损性能。由于KTLO不以纤维形式存在,这是和钛酸钾纤维不同的。因此,在生产过程中不大会堵塞进料通道,也不会由于存在可吸入的纤维而使操作环境劣化。
本发明的制造方法可制造本发明的KTLO,其特点是包括下列步骤,在具有式子K0.8Li0.27Ti1.73O4表示的组成的纤铁矿型钛酸锂钾的含水浆液中加入一种酸,同时调节该浆液pH至6-8,从该浆液分离出固体,然后煅烧所述固体。
本发明摩擦材料的特点是以含KTLO作为摩擦控制剂。本发明的摩擦材料含有本发明的KTLO作为摩擦控制剂,因此,能在低温至高温区域内显示极稳定的摩擦磨损性能(如耐磨损性和摩擦系数),即使在数十小时以上的长期使用中仍然如此。
因此,本发明的摩擦材料用于制动部件,如安装在汽车、飞机、火车和工厂设备的制动装置中的离合器衬片、制动内衬和盘垫,不仅提高和稳定了制动功能而且延长了其使用寿命。
含本发明KTLO的摩擦材料能提供这样的优良性能的原因还不清楚,但是,可以推测是由于本发明的KTLO与现有技术的由式子K0.8Li0.27Ti1.73O4表示的纤铁矿型钛酸锂钾(除非特别指出,下面称作KTLO-a)之间的结构差异。
本发明的纤铁矿型钛酸锂钾(KTLO)一般具有下式代表的组成:
K0.5-0.7Li0.27Ti1.73O3.85-3.95 (1)其钾含量在0.5-0.7摩尔范围内。
本发明的KTLO具有正交晶系的层状结构,一般为类似于云母、贝壳碎片等的片层形状。
本发明的KTLO,其长直径和短直径的算术平均值((长直径+下直径)/2)、长直径与短直径之比(长直径/短直径)和平均厚度可以有很宽范围,可以根据所需的最终用途适当选择。为提供含有作为摩擦控制剂的KTMO的摩擦材料足够的耐热性和滑动性能,使用的KTMO,其长直径和短直径的算术平均值一般约在0.1-100微米范围,较好为1-30微米,长直径与短直径之比为1至小于5,较好为1至小于3,厚度一般在50-5,000nm范围,较好为200-2,000nm。通过扫描电子显微镜可测定这些数值。KTLO的长直径和短直径的算术平均值最好在约0.1-100微米范围,长直径与短直径之比为1至小于10,厚度一般在50-5000nm范围,并呈片状。
制造本发明的KTLO,例如可以在KTLO-a的含水浆液中加入酸,进行混合,然后从该浆液中分离出固体,然后进行煅烧。
至于制造KTLO-a,例如可通过混合钛、钾和锂的原材料,加入助熔剂,随后充分混合,将该混合物于1,000-1,100℃煅烧1-8小时。
或可从含钛化合物中选出钛原料,其具体例子包括二氧化钛、金红石、氢氧化钛湿饼、含水二氧化钛等。这些钛原料可以单独使用或混合使用。钾原料可选自受热时会形成氧化钾的化合物,这些化合物的具体例子包括氧化钾、碳酸钾、氢氧化钾、硝酸钾等。这些钾原料可以单独使用或混合使用。钾原料还可以和少量任何其它碱金属的一种或多种氧化物、碳酸盐、氢氧化物和硝酸盐混合。锂原料的例子包括氢氧化锂、碳酸锂、氟化锂等。这些锂原料可以单独使用或混合使用。
钛、钾和锂原料以Ti∶K∶Li=1.73∶0.8∶0.27(摩尔比)的标准比例混合,允许各自的偏差在约5%内。然而,与所列比例有较大偏差时,有时会导致副产物Li2TiO3和/或K2Ti6O13的不利沉积,这些副产物不是片状。
助熔剂例子包括氯化钾、氟化钾、钼酸钾、钨酸钾等。这些助熔剂中,特别优选氯化钾。助熔剂以3∶1至3∶15,较好为3∶3.5至3∶10的摩尔比(原料:助熔剂)加入到原料中。助熔剂加入量低可提高经济上的优点。然而,如果助熔剂加入量过大,片状结晶会产生崩碎,这是不利的。
可采用任何一种设备如电炉、马弗炉等进行煅烧。在大批量生产中,较好使用隧道窑煅烧预先压成砖形或圆柱形的原料。较好的是,在1,000-1,100℃进行煅烧,保温时间为1-24小时。可以以任意速率升高或降低温度,较好是3-7℃/分钟速率。煅烧温度太高会产生大尺寸的片状产物。然而,如果煅烧温度超过1,100℃,产物形状会由于熔化而变差。保温时间太长会增大所产生颗粒的尺寸。煅烧之后,可将产物进行湿粉碎。具体是,使用颚式破碎机、箱式研磨机等进行粉碎和研磨,分散在水中,搅拌成5-10重量%的浆液。需要时,浆液还可以进一步进行分级、过滤和干燥,获得片状钛酸锂钾。
KTLO-a的含水浆液的浓度没有什么特别规定,可以在较宽范围适当选择。从可加工角度,含水浆液的浓度保持在约1-30重量%,较好约为2-15重量%。
对使用的酸没有什么特别规定,可选自己知的一些酸,包括无机酸如硫酸、盐酸和硝酸;有机酸如乙酸等。需要时,这些酸可以混合使用。在含水浆液中加入有效量的酸,使浆液pH保持在6-8,较好为6.5-7.5。加入酸后测定该含水浆液的pH,随后,搅拌约1-5小时。酸一般以其水溶液形式使用,对其浓度没有什么特别规定,可以在较宽范围内选择。一般保持在约1-80重量%范围。
将所述含水浆液pH调节至上面列举的范围之内后,通过常规的分离方法如过滤、离心分离等,分离出其中存在的固体。如果需要,分离出的固体用水清洗之。
然后,将固体煅烧。一般,在约400-700℃进行煅烧,约1-12小时后完成。煅烧之后,对产生的粉末再进行粉碎,在粉碎之前或可通过筛子进行分离。
上述过程可以获得本发明的KTLO。本发明还提供了含KTLO作为摩擦控制剂的摩擦材料。本发明的摩擦材料含有粘合剂和摩擦控制剂作为主要组分。
可以使用摩擦材料领域通常使用的任何粘合剂。粘合剂的例子包括有机粘合剂和无机粘合剂。有机粘合剂包括热固性树脂如酚醛树脂、甲醛树脂、密胺树脂、环氧树脂、丙烯酸类树脂、芳烃聚酯树脂和尿素树脂;弹性体物质如天然橡胶、腈基树脂、丁二烯橡胶、丁苯橡胶、氯丁橡胶、聚异戊二烯橡胶、丙烯酸类橡胶、高苯乙烯橡胶和苯乙烯丙烯二烯共聚物;热塑性树脂如聚酰胺树脂、对聚苯硫树脂、聚醚树脂、聚酰亚胺树脂、聚醚醚酮树脂和热塑性液晶聚酯树脂等。无机粘合剂的例子包括氧化铝溶胶、二氧化硅溶胶、硅氧烷树脂等。上述粘合剂可以单独使用,如果相容可以任意混合使用。
用作摩擦控制剂的是上列式子(1)表示的本发明的KTLO。
本发明摩擦材料还可以含有纤维物质。本领域常规使用的任何纤维物质均可使用。纤维物质的例子包括树脂纤维如芳族聚酰胺纤维,金属纤维如钢纤维和青铜纤维,碳纤维,玻璃纤维,陶瓷纤维,石毛、纸浆等。这些纤维质物质可以单独使用,或混合使用。这些纤维质物质可用硅烷偶联剂如氨基硅烷、环氧硅烷或乙烯基硅烷偶联剂;钛酸酯偶联剂、磷酸酯偶联剂等进行表面处理,提高其分散性能以及粘合剂的粘合性能。
本发明的摩擦材料还可含有本领域常规使用的摩擦控制剂,在不损害摩擦材料的有利性能范围内,其例子包括有机粉末如天然或合成橡胶粉末(或硫化或未硫化的)、漆酚树脂粉末、树脂粉尘和橡胶粉尘;无机粉末如炭黑、石墨粉、二硫化钼、硫酸钡、碳酸钙、粘土、云母、滑石、硅藻土、叶蛇纹石、海泡石、蒙脱石、沸石、三钛酸钠、六钛酸钠、六钛酸钾和八钛酸钾;金属粉末如铜、铝、锌和铁粉;氧化物粉末如氧化铝、二氧化硅、氧化铬、二氧化钛和氧化铁粉末等等。这些常规摩擦控制剂可以单独使用或任意混合使用。
本发明的摩擦材料还可含有一种或多种防锈剂、润滑剂和磨料。
本发明摩擦材料的各组分根据不同条件,包括使用的粘合剂类型、可加的纤维质物质、常规摩擦控制剂和其它添加剂,要求制备的摩擦材料具有的滑动和机械性能、设定的最终用途等,在宽范围内以适当选择的比例进行混合。以摩擦材料总量为基准,摩擦材料一般可含有5-60重量%,较好10-40重量%的粘合剂,1-80重量%,较好3-50重量%的摩擦控制剂(包括常规摩擦控制剂),最多60重量%,较好1-40重量%的纤维质物质以及最多60重量%,较好5-50重量%的其它添加剂。
较好的摩擦材料含有纤维质物质、粘合剂和摩擦控制剂作为主要组分。
本发明的摩擦材料可通过本领域已知的制造摩擦材料的各种方法制造。现说明一种方法,将纤维质物质(如果需要的话)分散在粘合剂中,摩擦控制剂和其它可用的组分随后或作为混合物或分别加入该粘合剂中,制得的混合物倒入模具中,施加热量和压力结合在一起。
或者,可采用另一种方法,是将粘合剂在双螺杆挤压机中进行熔融捏合,摩擦控制剂、可用的纤维物质和其它组分则通过料斗以混合物加入或分别加入挤压机中。制得的挤出物再机械加工成要求的形状。
还可以采用另一种方法,将纤维物质(如果需要的话)分散在粘合剂中,在该粘合剂中随后加入摩擦控制剂和其它可用的组分,形成混合物,再将该混合物分散在如水中,湿法铺叠在网上,然后脱水成为片材,在压机上对该片材施加压力和热量结合在一起,制得的产物最后适当切割和抛光成要求的形状。

实施本发明的最佳方式
下面的实施例、比较例和试验例具体说明了本发明。在这些例子中,“份”和“%”分别指“重量份”和“%重量”。
实施例1
(1)KTLO-a的合成
67.01千克二氧化钛、26.78千克碳酸钾、12.04千克氯化钾、5.08千克氢氧化锂,还有10升水作为粘合剂混合在一起。使用水压机(Ymamoto Tekkosho,Co.,Ltd.制造),将混合物在14.7Mpa压力下压制成砖形。将该砖在电炉(Advantech Toyo Co.,Ltd.制造)中1050℃煅烧1小时,然后逐渐冷却。将煅烧的产物粉碎获得白色粉末,其长直径和短直径的算术平均值为22微米,平均厚度为2微米,长直径与短直径之比为3。白色粉末的X-射线衍射图对应于ICDD卡No.25-1353(KxLixTi2-0.5xO8)。ICP-AES分析也表明此粉末组成为K0.8Li0.27Ti1.73O4。
(2)本发明KTLO(K0.6Li0.27Ti1.73O3.9)的合成
使用上述KTLO-a制备79.2升10.9%的含水浆液,随后在其中加入4.7千克10%的硫酸水溶液。将该浆液搅拌2小时,然后调节其pH至7.0。用离心分离机处理该含水浆液。分散所得的离心饼(固体),于110℃干燥5小时,然后在电炉中600℃煅烧12小时。煅烧后的产物逐渐冷却,然后通过20目的筛,获得白色粉末,其长直径和短直径的算术平均值为22微米,平均厚度为2微米,长直径与短直径之比为3。由IPC-AES分析,测出这种白色粉末的组成为K0.6Li0.27Ti1.73O3.9。因此,可以证实本发明的KTLO是明显不同于KTLO-a的化合物。
(3)本发明KTLO(K0.5Li0.27Ti1.73O3.85)的合成
使用上述KTLO-a制备79.2升10.9%的含水浆液,随后在其中加入6.3千克10%的硫酸水溶液。将该浆液搅拌2小时,然后调节其pH至6.0。用离心分离机处理该含水浆液。分散所得的离心饼(固体),于110℃干燥5小时,然后在电炉中600℃煅烧12小时。煅烧后的产物逐渐冷却,然后通过20目的筛,获得白色粉末,其长直径和短直径的算术平均值为22微米,平均厚度为2微米,长直径与短直径之比为3。由IPC-AES分析,测出这种白色粉末的组成为K0.5Li0.27Ti1.73O3.85。因此,可以证实本发明的KTLO是明显不同于KTLO-a的化合物。
(4)本发明KTLO(K0.7Li0.27Ti1.73O3.95)的合成
使用上述KTLO-a制备79.2升10.9%的含水浆液,随后在其中加入1.2千克10%的硫酸水溶液。将该浆液搅拌2小时,然后调节其pH至8.0。用离心分离机处理该含水浆液。分散所得的离心饼(固体),于110℃干燥5小时,然后在电炉中600℃煅烧12小时。煅烧后的产物逐渐冷却,然后通过20目的筛,获得白色粉末,其长直径和短直径的算术平均值为22微米,平均厚度为2微米,长直径与短直径之比为3。由IPC-AES分析,测出这种白色粉末的组成为K0.7Li0.27Ti1.73O3.95。因此,可以证实本发明的KTLO是明显不同于KTLO-a的化合物。
实施例2
将20份实施例1中获得的KTLO、10份芳族聚酰胺纤维(产品名称:Kevlar Pulp,平均纤维长度3毫米)、20份苯酚树脂(粘合剂)和50份硫酸钡混合。该混合物于室温下,以29.4Mpa压力预成形1分钟,再在模具中于170℃施加14.7Mpa压力5分钟使其结合,再180℃热处理3小时。从模具中取出成形的产品,抛光制成盘垫A-C(JISD4411试验片)。
比较例1
重复实施例2的步骤,不同之处是,使用KTLO-a代替KTLO,来制造盘垫D。
比较例2
按照实施例2的步骤进行,不同之处是,使用30份六钛酸钾(截面直径为5-10微米,长短径之比为5)代替30份KTLO和芳族聚酰胺纤维,来制造盘垫E。
试验例1:磨擦磨损试验
按照JIS D 4411“汽车摩擦衬”中所述的标准,对制得的盘垫A-E进行恒速磨损试验(摩擦盘表面:由FC 25灰铸铁构成,表面压力:0.98MPa,摩擦速率:7米/秒),测定磨损速率(cm3/kgm)和摩擦系数(μ)。结果示于图1和图2。
盘垫A-E中包含的摩擦控制剂如下:
盘垫A:KTLO(K0.5Li0.27Ti1.73O3.85)
盘垫B:KTLO(K0.6Li0.27Ti1.73O3.9)
盘垫C:KTLO(K0.7Li0.27Ti1.73O3.95)
盘垫D:KTLO-a(K0.8Li0.27Ti1.73O4)
盘垫E:六钛酸钾(K2Ti6O13)
由图1和图2可知,使用本发明KTLO的盘垫A-C显示磨损下降,即,在300℃或更高温度具有优良的耐磨性。还显示了对温度变化相对稳定的摩擦系数。
工业应用
本发明提供了适合用作摩擦控制剂的纤铁矿型钛酸锂钾。
本发明的摩擦材料含有上述纤铁矿型钛酸锂钾作为摩擦控制剂,在低温至高温区具有稳定的磨擦磨损性能,并在长期使用中保持稳定的耐磨损性能。
Claims (4)
1.纤铁矿型钛酸锂钾,具有式K0.5-0.7Li0.27Ti1.73O3.85-3.95表示的组成。
2.如权利要求1所述的纤铁矿型钛酸锂钾,其特征在于,所述纤铁矿型钛酸锂钾的长直径和短直径的算术平均值为0.1-100微米,长直径与短直径之比为1至小于10,平均厚度为50-5000nm,呈片状。
3.制造如权利要求1或2所述的纤铁矿型钛酸锂钾的方法,其特征在于,所述方法包括:在具有式子K0.8Li0.27Ti1.73O4表示的组成的纤铁矿型钛酸锂钾的含水浆液中加入一种酸,调节该浆液pH至6-8,从该浆液分离出固体,然后对其进行煅烧。
4.摩擦材料,包含1-80重量%权利要求1或2所述的纤铁矿型钛酸锂钾作为摩擦控制剂。
