Abstract
本发明提供了由在纸基的至少一面上层合了树脂层的树脂-纸层合体构成的容器,所述的树脂层由含有100重量份直链低密度聚烯烃与10~20重量份降冰片烯系聚合物的树脂组合物形成。这种容器在适用于饮料食品包装的耐热性、热封性和低透湿性方面是优良的。
Description
发明所述的技术领域
本发明涉及由在纸基上层合了树脂层的树脂-纸层合体构成的容器,它可用作牛奶、清凉饮料、茶、酒等的容器。
背景技术
通常,牛奶、清凉饮料等饮料是装在玻璃和塑料瓶或罐或者纸容器中出售、使用的。这种纸容器是通过将其单面或两面层合了聚乙烯、聚丙烯等烯烃类树脂膜的纸折合成立方体或正四面体等所需形状的容器、利用烯烃类树脂的热融粘合性通过熔接(heat seal)制成的。
近年来,从环境保护的观点考虑,上述这种纸容器对于牛奶、清凉饮料、果汁、茶、酒类为主的快餐等多种饮料食品,能以比玻璃和塑料瓶或罐更高的增加率使用,对它的需求将急剧地增大。因此,追求在使用纸容器的饮料食品包装中生产率的提高,这在经济上是重要的。
为了提高使用纸容器的饮料食品包装制造的生产率,缩短熔接工序的时间是最有效的。但是,即使为了在短时间内热封而提高热封温度,也会受涂布的烯烃类树脂膜的耐热性限制而在熔融时产生发泡现象,所以还没有有效的缩短熔接工序时间的方法。
另一方面,降冰片烯系聚合物等环状烯烃类树脂比以前的直链烯烃树脂具有更好的透明性、耐热性、低透湿性等,因此已经提出了用它作为树脂容器或树脂膜等,以及用由层合了该树脂膜的纸作为容器的方法(特开平8-72888号公报,特开平10-310121号公报)。
但是,由于环状烯烃类树脂膜的热封性不佳,因此难以用于牛奶包装等这样的纸容器。
发明内容
本发明的目的是提供耐热性、热封性和低透湿性良好的容器。
本发明人为了解决上述问题而进行了反复深入研究,结果发现,由在纸的至少一面上层合了树脂层,而该树脂层是在以往纸容器涂层所用的聚乙烯等直链聚烯烃树脂中含有特定量的降冰片烯系聚合物,由此所形成的容器的低透湿性、耐热性和热封性良好,从而完成了本发明。即,本发明首次发现,通过将直链低密度聚烯烃与降冰片烯系聚合物以特定的重量比混合,这两种树脂的优点都得以充分发挥。
由此,根据本发明,提供了一种容器,它由在纸基的至少一面上层合了由树脂组合物形成的层的树脂-纸层合体构成,所述的树脂组合物含有100重量份直链低密度聚烯烃和10~20重量份降冰片烯系聚合物。
优选的是,所述的降冰片烯系聚合物的全部重复单元中含有40重量%以上的来自二环戊二烯的重复结构单元。
优选的是,所述的由树脂组合物形成的层的厚度为5~40微米。
优选的是,所述的纸基的厚度为80~800微米。
优选的是,所述的直链低密度聚烯烃是聚乙烯或聚丙烯。
优选的是,所述的由树脂组合物形成的层与纸基的厚度比为1/2~1/12。
根据本发明,提供了适用于饮料食品包装的耐热性、热封性和低透湿性良好的纸容器。
实施发明的最佳方式
下面说明本发明的实施方式,这些实施方式是为了使本发明容易理解而记叙的,并不是为了限定本发明而记叙的。
本发明的容器是由在纸基的至少一面上层合了特定的树脂组合物形成的树脂层的树脂-纸层合体而形成的。所述的树脂组合物含有特定比例的直链低密度聚烯烃与降冰片烯系聚合物。
(直链低密度聚烯烃)
本发明中可用的直链低密度聚烯烃以乙烯或丙烯为主,根据需要还可与几重量%的1-丁烯、1-戊烯、4-甲基-1-戊烯、1-癸烯等碳原子数为4~10的α-烯烃共聚制得。聚合反应可通过使用过渡金属催化剂的配位阴离子共聚,主要采用在几十大气压下(中压法)的溶液聚合法或气相聚合法,但也可采用1000气压以上(高压法)的本体聚合法。比重通常为0.918~0.940,较好是0.920~0.930,熔体流动指数(190℃,2千克/厘米2)通常为1~30克/10分钟,较好是3~15克/10分钟,更好是5~9克/10分钟。
本发明中,直链低密度聚烯烃用作具有使树脂组合物形成的层在拥有柔软性和热熔粘合性的同时、机械强度不下降,且热融粘合性随着加热仍保持良好作用的材料。
(降冰片烯系聚合物)
本发明中可用的降冰片烯系聚合物含有具有降冰片烯环结构的单体的重复结构单元,该重复单元的比例可根据使用目的来适当选择,通常在50重量%以上,在70重量%以上较好,在90重量%以上更好。如果具有降冰片烯环结构的单体的重复结构单元的比例在该范围内,则由树脂组合物形成的层的耐热性和低透湿性就得以提高。这里所述的耐热性,是指用树脂-纸层合体形成容器时,即使在熔接工序中对树脂层之间进行高温加热,树脂层也不产生发泡现象的熔融性质。如果耐热性好,就能提高热封温度从而提高生产率。如果产生发泡,与密封面的粘合强度就极度下降,所以要求耐热性好的材料。
作为降冰片烯系聚合物的具体例子,例如有特开平3-14882号公报和特开平3-122137号公报等揭示的公知聚合物:降冰片烯系单体的开环聚合物及其加氢物、降冰片烯系单体的加成聚合物、降冰片烯系单体和能与其加成共聚的单体的加成共聚物等。
上述的降冰片烯系单体,是指具有降冰片烯环结构的单体,包括不带降冰片烯环的降冰片烯系单体和带有降冰片烯环的降冰片烯单体。具体例子有:

上述降冰片烯系单体可单独使用,也可两种以上组合使用。
又,前述的能与降冰片烯系单体加成共聚的单体的具体例子有:乙烯、丙烯、1-丁烯、1-戊烯、1-己烯、3-甲基-1-丁烯、3-甲基-1-戊烯、3-乙基-1-戊烯、4-甲基-1-戊烯、4-甲基-1-己烯、4,4-二甲基-1-己烯、4,4-二甲基-1-戊烯、4-乙基-1-己烯、3-乙基-1-己烯、1-辛烯、1-癸烯、1-十一碳烯、1-十四碳烯、1-十六碳烯、1-十八碳烯、1-二十碳烯等碳原子数为2~20的α-烯烃;环丁烯、环戊烯、环己烯、3,4-二甲基环戊烯、3-甲基环己烯、2-(2-甲基丁基)-1-环己烯、环辛烯、3a,5,6,7a-四氢-4,7-亚甲基-1H-茚等环烯烃;1,4-己二烯、4-甲基-1,4-己二烯、5-甲基-1,4-己二烯、1,7-辛二烯等非共轭二烯烃等。这些可共聚单体可各自单独使用,也可两种以上组合使用。
此外,为使本发明所用的降冰片烯系聚合物的耐热性、低透湿性等更好,其重复结构单元中,要含有一定量以上的来自降冰片烯、二环戊二烯等不带降冰片烯环的降冰片烯系单体的重复结构单元作为降冰片烯系单体为好。其中,来自二环戊二烯的重复结构单元为降冰片烯系聚合物结构单元的40重量%以上较好,50重量%以上更好,60重量%以上最好。
用上述降冰片烯系单体制造开环聚合物时,开环聚合催化剂使用由钌、铑、钯、锇、铱、铂等金属的卤化物、硝酸盐或乙酰丙酮化合物及还原剂组成的催化剂;或使用由钛、钒、锆、钨、钼等金属卤化物或乙酰丙酮化合物和有机铝化合物组成的催化剂,在溶剂中或无溶剂下,通常于-50℃~100℃的聚合温度、0~5兆帕的聚合压力下进行开环聚合。
而制造这些开环(共聚)聚合物的加氢产物时,开环(共聚)聚合物通过在镍、钯、铂等加氢催化剂的存在下用氢气按常规方法进行氢化。
降冰片烯系单体的加成聚合物和降冰片烯系单体与上述可共聚单体的加成共聚物例如可由以下方法制得:在溶剂中或无溶剂下,在由钛、锆或钒化合物与有机铝化合物组成的催化剂的存在下,通常于-50~100℃的聚合温度、0~5兆帕的聚合压力下使单体组分共聚。
本发明中所用的降冰片烯系聚合物的平均分子量可根据使用目的来适当选择,用环己烷溶液(聚合物树脂不溶解时为甲苯溶液)的凝胶渗透色谱法(GPC)测得,以换算成聚异戊二烯的重均分子量(Mw)计通常为5,000~500,000,较好是8,000~200,000,更好是10,000~100,000。如果Mw在该范围内,成型品的耐热性和低透湿性就好。
本发明中所用的降冰片烯系聚合物的玻璃化转变温度(Tg)可根据使用目的来适当选择,但通常为50~300℃,较好是60~200℃,更好是70~150℃。如果Tg过低,耐热性就有可能下降;反过来如果Tg过高,则需要提高容器制造加工的温度,从而有使树脂分解的危险。
(树脂组合物)
本发明所涉及的树脂组合物每100重量份的直链低密度聚烯烃必须包含10~20、较好是12~18重量份的降冰片烯系聚合物。如果两种树脂的混合比在上述范围内,树脂膜的耐热性、热封性和低透湿性就能以两种树脂的优点都得以充分发挥的形式成为互相平衡的良好状态。如果在上述范围以外就会呈现出各树脂分别具有的缺点。根据需要还可加入抗氧化剂、紫外线吸收剂、光稳定剂、抗静电剂、润滑剂等其它添加剂配制成树脂组合物。此外,在不损及本发明目的的范围内,还可在树脂组合物中添加聚酯树脂、聚氨酯树脂、苯乙烯-丁二烯橡胶等其它聚合物。
由树脂组合物形成的层的厚度通常为5~40微米,较好是7~35微米,更好是10~30微米。如果树脂层的厚度太薄,有可能会产生涂布残缺或针孔;而如果太厚,则容器制造的熔接工序的生产性可能变差。
(纸基)
本发明可用的纸基以浆粕纸(pulp paper)、牛皮纸等纸为主,根据需要,在该纸的至少一面上层合铝箔、沉积有二氧化硅的聚酯膜等的不透气层(阻气层)。该阻气层形成在容器内侧与内容物接触的表面上为好,但对于将容器在水中冷却的用途,在容器外侧的表面上也形成该阻气层为好。纸基的厚度通常为80~800微米,较好是100~500微米。而有阻气层时,阻气层的厚度通常为5~20微米,较好是10~15微米。如果纸基的厚度太小,恐怕耐热性会降低;反过来如果过厚,则恐怕会损害热封性。
此外,在纸上形成阻气层时,为达到提高与阻气层之间粘合性的目的,也可介入厚5~10微米的聚乙烯等树脂层作为中间层。
(树脂-纸层合体)
本发明中,用于形成容器的、在纸基的至少一面上层合了由含有直链低密度聚烯烃和降冰片烯系聚合物的树脂组合物形成的层的树脂-纸层合体是必要的。因此,前述的树脂组合物通常是通过用挤出机将树脂熔融、挤出成粒料,用铸型辊(cast roll)层合到纸基上作为树脂层。或者,也可将所述树脂组合物溶解于溶剂中成涂料涂布在纸基上、经干燥形成层合体。还有一种方法是将前述树脂组合物制成例如膜状树脂层后,将其贴合在基材上,成为树脂-纸层合体。根据要求,可将一面上层合了树脂层的基材反转,再在另一面上层合树脂层。
这样就可形成在纸基的一面或两面上层合了树脂层的树脂-纸层合体。树脂层和纸基的厚度分别如前所述,两层的厚度比以树脂层/纸基在1/2~1/12的范围内为好,在1/4~1/7的范围内更好。如果该比值过小,恐怕耐热性会降低;反过来如果过大,则可能会损害热封性。
(容器)
本发明的容器,可由上述树脂-纸层合体形成立方体、四面体等所需的多面体形状。因此首先是预先将树脂-纸层合体折出折痕,沿着该折痕弯折树脂-纸层合体,形成原型容器。然后,最好经过杀菌工序,对该原型容器进行一定的成型加工,填充入饮料食品,形成最终形状的包装容器。所谓一定的成型加工是指将弯折的树脂-纸层合体的树脂层相互热封。通常,采用该原型容器的热封和内容物的填充同时进行的加工方法。
本发明容器由于具有良好的耐热性、热封性,所以能将热封条件设在例如温度比以前高40~60℃达到200~260℃、时间比以前短300~500毫秒达到70~300毫秒,即使进行这样高温短时间的处理,密封面的树脂层上也难以产生发泡,而且树脂层相互之间的粘合性也良好,从而可大幅度地提高容器制造时的生产性。此外,本发明容器不易透湿,所以即使长期保存饮料食品,内容物也不会变质。
作为本发明容器的用途,以牛奶、清凉饮料、果汁、茶、咖啡、红茶、酒类为主的液体饮料;汤等快餐等的饮料食品的包装、运输用途是最合适的。
实施例
下面列举了本发明的制造例、实施例和比较例,以更具体地说明本发明,但本发明的范围并不受这些例子所限。
这些例子中,“份”如果没有特别指出,以重量基准计。此外,各种物性的测定方法如下。
(1)玻璃化转变温度(Tg)
由差示扫描量热计(DSC法)测定。单位℃。
(2)重均分子量(Mw)
如果没有特别指出,由以环己烷为溶剂的凝胶渗透色谱法(GPC)测定的聚异戊二烯作为换算值测得。
(3)共聚物组成
共聚物组成由氢核磁共振谱(NMR)的分析结果求得。
(4)树脂层的厚度
由膜厚计(OZUAKI MFG公司制,KIGITAL LINEAR GAUGE MODEL PDN12)测定。单位微米。
(5)耐热性
从树脂-纸层合体切取大小为30毫米×30毫米的试样,将该试样放在牛皮纸衬在下面的铝板上,在110℃的吉尔老化恒温箱中内放置65秒,然后将其取出,用光学显微镜(50倍)观察树脂层有无剥离和发泡。将吉尔老化恒温箱的温度变为120℃、130℃和140℃,对经上述相同处理后取出的试样进行观察。对于60毫米×80毫米的显微镜照片,按照以下基准来评价。
◎:完全未看到气泡 ○:气泡不到5个
△:气泡在5个以上不到10个 ×:气泡在10个以上
(6)热封(heat seal)性
从树脂-纸层合体切取30毫米×30毫米大小的试样2块,将这2块试样在树脂表面之间以50毫米×20毫米的面积重叠的状态下,用两块加热不锈钢板以2兆帕的压力压合10秒钟,检查粘合的状况。将加热板温度连续改变2℃,进行相同的处理,对于全面粘合所需的最低温度,按照以下基准评价。
◎:最低在100℃粘合 ○:最低在102℃粘合
△:最低在104℃粘合 ×:最低在106℃以上粘合
(7)透湿性
透湿性按照JIS Z 0208(杯封法)、以温度25℃、相对湿度90%、透过面积28.3厘米2测得的透湿度(克/米2,24小时)。改变测定范围测定2次,算出其平均值。
(降冰片烯系聚合物制造例1)
于室温、氮气气氛下,在反应器中加入500份脱水的环己烷,再加入0.55份1-己烷、0.11份二丁醚和0.22份三异丁基铝,混合后,在保持45℃的同时用2小时时间连续地添加160份三环[4,3,01,6,12,5]-(3-癸烯)(以下简称为DCP)、40份二环[2,2,1]-(2-戊烯)(以下简称为NB)、和30份六氯化钨的0.7%甲苯溶液。
将所得的聚合反应液移到耐压性氢化反应器中,加入10份硅藻土载镍催化剂(日产ガ一ドラ一公司制;G-96D,镍负载率58%)和200份环己烷,于150℃、氢气压力4.4兆帕的条件下使之反应8小时。在装有不锈钢制铁丝网的过滤器的铁丝网上铺上硅藻土和过滤助剂,过滤氢化反应液,除去催化剂。经过滤的反应溶液在搅拌下注入3000份异丙醇中,使加氢产物沉淀,经过滤回收DCP-NB开环聚合物的加氢产物。用500份丙酮将其洗净后,于压力设在133帕以下、温度设在100℃的减压干燥器中干燥48小时,得到190份DCP-NB开环聚合物的加氢产物。所得的开环聚合物的加氢产物的主链加氢率为99.9%,Mw为43,000,共聚组成(重量比)为DCP/NB=80/20,Tg为70℃。
在100份所得的DCP-NB开环聚合物的加氢产物中,加入0.2份チバガイキ一公司制的イルガノツクス1010(季戊四醇四[3-(3,5-二叔丁基-4-羟苯基)丙酸酯])作为抗氧化剂,用双螺杆挤出机(东芝机械公司制TEM-35B,螺杆直径37毫米,L/D=32,螺杆转速250转/分,树脂温度240℃,进料速率10千克/小时)捏合、挤出,制成粒料。
(降冰片烯系聚合物制造例2)
除了将160份DCP和40份NB改为170份DCP和30份8-乙基-四环[4,4,12,5,17,10,0]-(3-癸烯)(以下简称为ETCD)以外,其余和降冰片烯系聚合物制造例1相同地进行聚合和氢化,得到190份DCP-ETCD开环聚合物的加氢产物(聚合物-B)。所得开环聚合物的加氢产物的主链加氢率为99.9%,Mw为41,000,共聚组成(重量比)为DC/ETCD=85/15,Tg为102℃。
用所得的DCP-ETCD开环聚合物的加氢产物,和降冰片烯系聚合物制造例1相同的方法制成粒料。
(降冰片烯系聚合物制造例3)
除了将160份DCP和40份NB改为76份DCP、70份四环[4,4,12,5,17,10,0]-(3-癸烯)(以下简称为TCD)和54份四环[7,4,110,13,01,9,02,7]-(2,4,6,11-十三碳四烯)(以下简称为MTF)以外,其余和降冰片烯系聚合物制造例1相同地进行聚合和氢化,得到190份DCP-TCD-MTF开环聚合物的加氢产物(聚合物-C)。所得开环聚合物的加氢产物的主链加氢率为99.9%,Mw为38,000,共聚组成(重量比)为DC/TCD/MTF=38/35/27,Tg为140℃。
用所得的DCP-ETCD开环聚合物的加氢产物,和降冰片烯系聚合物制造例1相同的方法制成粒料。
实施例1
树脂组合物的制造
用上述双螺杆挤出机,在螺杆转速200转/分、树脂温度210℃、进料速度20千克/小时条件下将15份制造例1中所得的聚合物A的粒料与直链低密度聚乙烯树脂[商品名:UJ 960,三菱化学株式会社制,比重0.935,MFR 50克/10分钟]的粒料捏合,制成树脂组合物粒料。
树脂-纸层合体的制造
使用制模机[挤出机料筒直径为65毫米,L/D比为25,模头(下部出料,宽850毫米)、切削刃0.5毫米、铸型辊直径450毫米],在料筒温度为260℃、铸型辊温度为60℃的条件下,设定卷绕速度,以使所得的树脂组合物形成给定的膜厚,将厚100微米的牛皮纸供应到铸型辊上,制成树脂-纸层合体,
对所得的树脂-纸层合体,按照上述试验方法评价其耐热性、热封性和透湿性。其结果示于表1。
实施例2~7,比较例1~2
除了降冰片烯系聚合物和直链低密度聚乙烯的种类及数量如表1所示以外,其余按和实施例1相同的方法制成树脂组合物粒料和树脂-纸层合体并评价。其结果示于表1。

从表1可知,作为本发明容器的实施例1~7中任何一例都可得到耐热性、热封性和低透湿性良好的纸的容器。使用降冰片烯系聚合物中来自DCP的重复结构单元不到40重量%的聚合物C的实施例5,其耐热性、热封性和透湿性在各实施例中评价稍低。而树脂层的膜厚只有3微米那么薄的实施例7,其耐热性和透湿性在各实施例中评价稍低。
另一方面,降冰片烯系聚合物的混合比率比规定少的比较例1的耐热性差,透湿性也较差。而降冰片烯系聚合物的混合比率比规定多的比较例2的热封性差。
Claims (5)
1.容器,它由在纸基的至少一面上层合了由树脂组合物形成的层的树脂-纸层合体构成,所述的树脂组合物含有100重量份直链低密度聚烯烃和10~20重量份降冰片烯系聚合物。
2.如权利要求1所述的容器,其特征在于,所述的降冰片烯系聚合物的全部重复单元中含有40重量%以上的来自二环戊二烯的重复结构单元。
3.如权利要求1或2所述的容器,其特征在于,由所述树脂组合物形成的层的厚度为5~40微米。
4.如权利要求1或2所述的容器,其特征在于,所述的直链低密度聚烯烃是聚乙烯或聚丙烯。
5.如权利要求1或2所述的容器,其特征在于,所述的由树脂组合物形成的层与纸基的厚度比为1/2~1/12。
