输入树皮和/或木材组分可以以各种方式如切割进行预处理,从而使输入木材组分和/或树皮块的长和宽为约0.25in(0.64cm)至约6in、长和宽为约1in(2.54cm)至约4in(10.2cm)、长和宽为约2in(5cm)至约3in(7.6cm)。
加热步骤可以在约35lbs/in2(102kg/cm2)至约120lbs/in2(351kg/cm2)或约50lbs/in2(146kg/cm2)至约100lbs/in2(293kg/cm2)的蒸汽压力下进行约1至约5分钟或更长时间。
(Procedures for Determining Physical Propertiesof Horticultural Substrates Using the NCSU Porometer by HorticulturalSubstrates Laboratory)”(园艺科学系,北卡罗莱纳州立大学(罗利),北卡罗莱纳州)测量,该程序在本文中通过引用以其整体并入。
覆盖料组合物或生长介质的干容积密度可以为约1.5lb/ft3至约6lb/ft3、约2lb/ft3至约4lb/ft3、约2.2lb/ft3至约2.6lb/ft3。覆盖料组合物或生长介质的湿容积密度以优选增加的顺序可以为约15lb/ft3以下、10lb/ft3以下、8lb/ft3以下、6lb/ft3以下、4lb/ft3以下、3lb/ft3以下或2lb/ft3以下。覆盖料组合物或生长介质的湿容积密度可以为约2lb/ft3至约10lb/ft3、约2.2lb/ft3至约5lb/ft3、约2.4lb/ft3至约3lb/ft3。
测量容器具有以下尺寸:30.5×30.5×30.5cm(12in×12in×12in)。
